Ms.Ojo, I'm super-duper excited for ya! I need to start a countdown for us now that you mention it. Have fun and come back with lotsa pics! Think of your "Dis" pals while there so we can be with you in spirit!

CR Fan, I have a concierge question for ya that I don't think I've ever read the answer to. Maybe you can help. Last year we stayed on the 6th floor **sigh**. The elevators going down in the morning were a nightmare because it seemed they would all be decending from higher floors stopping at each floor above us. When the elevator finally made it to the 6th floor and the doors would open they most often were full with no room. Sometimes we could wedge my family of 4 in. When my aunt who uses an ECV was with us a few days it was more of a problem. My question is: do the concierge floors sorta bypass this obstacle during busy elevator hours because they are the highest floors? Also, I think when you are concierge level you have to use your room key to access those floors (right?). When coming back down does the elevator take the concierge guests directly to their destination floor or do they still stop along the way to pick up additional passengers from lower, non-concierge floors? I know it seems like a small, insignificant detail but I'm really curious. Plus, I'm just nutty enough to think up something like this!

There is no difference in the food offered or the service. The rooms on the 12th floor were completely redone while the ones on the 14th only received new carpets, mattresses, curtains. Also there are only I think 4 "regular" rooms on the 14th while the others are suites. There's no noise from the concourse because you can't even see it from the 14th floor. We stayed Atrium Cl in May and loved it. We had breakfast there each morning. In the evening we would go there and grab what they offered as appetizers to our meals and go back after dinner for dessert and Wishes.

Breakfast was like a continental one: cereal, muffins, bagels, fruit. At night they had 2 hot platters and cheese and hummus and wine. The p & j sandwiches were there all day along with soda, coffee and tea. In the evening they had 2 desserts, cookies, cordials. We found the food offerings very good and filling.

Hi All!

I just purchased the buy 4 nights get 3 FREE along with a 1 day ticket for 2 adults. Total Cost is $2861.96 for the concierage level on the 14th floor. My question though, is what is the difference between the 12th floor and the 14th floor concierage level? Also, does anyone know what "food" is on the menu and what are the other perks for staying here? I hope I have a good deal here!! LOL! Are there any tips or suggestions or even comments? Oh, we also will recieve a $200.00 gift card that we will put towards annual passes.

So with that said is the concierage level worth it??

Thanks all!!!:santa:

Hi CR FAN! Would you mind elaborating a little bit about the number of rooms, design also you mention about looking down on the 4th floor. What does the 14th club level look at? Does it have a better view??? Also, is $2800.00 worth it for 8 days, 7 nights, $200 gift card, and it also looks like we have a $15.00 voucher for Planet Hollywood, sea-racer voucher, Planet Hollywood merchanise voucher and minature golf voucher. The price includes all taxes too. What do you all think about this price?

Thanks to all!!!

All the elevators go to each floor in the Tower when they are pushed, so there is no special elevator for the 12th and 14th floors. Also you are correct that when going up to the 12th or 14th floors you do insert your KTTW card into the slot that's inside the elevator.

Does anyone here know if the fitness center is "FREE" for guests staying at the Contemporary?

Thanks again.

This thread is great. We are getting ready to call on Wednesday to make our ressie for December of 2009. Right now the website shows that MK View Atrium CL isn't available so I'm going to have to ask DH what other category he wants. We have never stayed here before so we're excited about it, especially to go during the holidays. :goodvibes

Thanks for all the contributions - it's been a big help! :thumbsup2

One thing that is striking to me is the number of people who share stories about their rooms being upgraded. Kind of an obvious question here....does it "just happen" or are you all asking for upgrades at check-in? I'm curious on the mechanics of it, and obviously if it is something I can get for my family I'd like to try at least, or at least not fail for lack of asking how it is done.

different people have different explanations for this, but the way I understand it is that the process is completely random. I know that the lower category room you stay in the more likely you to get one of these random upgrades, but is about it. You should never count on or bank on getting an upgrade because there is no sure way to figure out who is going to get one. However if you do wish to upgrade, upon check in you can ask if they have any higher category rooms available. but you would have to pay the difference in price for those. Hope my little explanation helped!

As always thank you for your information!

Hope you and your family had a great Holiday!

Brunette
Thank you.

In all times my family and I have stayed at the Contemporary we have been upgraded just one time and that was back in May 2000. We had a reservation for a room on the Atrium Club 12th floor and got upgraded to a standard room on the Tower Club 14th floor. Now back then the Atrium Club was light Club Level and the Tower Club was full Club Level, which meant they did not sereve all the same foods, drinks and desserts. So back then that's something you would call a very good upgrade. Anyway we were told of the upgrade at check-in because we asked for a specific room on the 12th floor and were told it was not ready, however we had been upgraded to the 14th floor.

Just wanted to thank everyone for all of the helpful information that you have provided. We are leaving on SATURDAY  and I wanted to offer an opportunity for anyone to ask us to check on anything specific at the Contemporary. I don't know if I will have time to post from the room while we are there, but I will definitely post something after we return on the 14th.

WOW! I'm checking in at the Contemporary Sunday! Maybe I'll see you there.:wave2:

We are booked! I called this morning. Standard Room CL (14th floor?) MK View requested for December 3-13, 2009. :yay: CRO said requests are usually given out first come, first serve so try to check in early am. We probably won't get in until about noon but even if we get the bay lake view, it's all good. Bay Lake is lovely and we can watch some wacky parasailers.

This thread has been such a wealth of information for decisions. Thanks for everyone who posted. :thumbsup2

If anyone has stayed Standard Room CL and has any info or tips, I'd be glad to read them! :worship:

Got our Concierge level resses for May 2009. We are doing a heckuva trip then. First we do the Poly for 7 days in April and then off to a 4 day Disney Cruise and then back to WDW for 10 more days at the Contemporary. This is the trip of a lifetime and we are so excited. We LOVE:lovestruc the Contemporary, have not been there since the refurbs, so we are anxious to see what they have done. Nothing better than a MK view from the highest floor to watch the fireworks and enjoy all the views of the lagoon and the GF and Poly. It is spectacular up there. I cannor wait to try the new restaurant, although I had a fondness for the Concourse Steakhouse. We won't be doing thios kind of a trip again for a long, long time, so we are really pulling out all the stops for it.
We try to get to WDW once a year for a couple of weeks, but decided to just do it up this next trip. I have never been on any kind of cruise and so I am excited and a bit nervous. Nervous because we will be out there in all that water and excited because I have heard such great things about the Disney Cruises.
Can't wait!:banana::dance3: party: :jumping1: :flower1: :mickeyjum :mickeyjum :mickeyjum
