I am going to be checking into the Contemporary later today and I will do my best to find out whatever information I can.

Just popping into the CR thread for a moment....CR Resort Fan 4 Life you've been such a great help to me in many other threads, I just wanted to wish you a magical vacation. The food sounds delish in the lounge:thumbsup2

You're welcome and I am always happy to help.

Take it for what's it's worth but here is some information told to me by a Cast Member on the Atrium Club when it comes to Chef Mickey's and the Tempo Grab & Go. I was told because a lot of guests complaining about being turned away from Chef Mickey's they are expanding it into the old Concourse Steakhouse area. So it will share space when the new counter service location opens.

Wow...what a thread of information!
Im currently heading to WDW for my first family vacation in Jan 2009 (11-16). Right now we are booked through AAA at WL woods view bunkbeds. I really wanted CR but nothing was available. Today I called and garden view is available but I'd really like a tower room (Im kind of confused are they all atrium club or concierge) ideally with MK view. I was told that no MK view rooms are availabe with AAA and may not be for that time.
Can someone give me some idea of what rooms I should be focusing on...I'd prefer to not have concierge but if that's all that tower offers I guess we can see if that is in the budget :rotfl: Even without a AAA discount I'm hoping we'll be able to get a GP or pin code to get a better rate and switch to CR before our trip. I just got a pin code however it was for fall so that's a no go for us.
I appreciate any help. All of these pictures have me so set on staying at CR...I'll be disappointed if we can't switch :(

No. Not all rooms are atrium or tower club. Guest room start on the fifth floor (i believe) on the Bay Lake Side and on the 6th floor on the MK side. All rooms are standard, except the rooms on the 12th floor (both sides) which is Atrium Club and the 14th floor (both sides) which is Tower Club. So floors 5-11 are all normal rooms. I really don't remember whats up with the 13th floor though ( i remember a CM telling me some kind of story, but i really don't remember it-- but i think it had something to do with the #13 bad luck thing... anybody remember whats really up with the 13th floor:confused3 :confused3 ) But GOOD LUCK getting a tower room!

Thank you...I never saw those rooms available until I went further into 2009 which won't work for us :( Well I'll just keep checking back online and calling daily maybe a tower room will open up. I'll also have my TA check for me until she can get me one...hell or high water I want a tower room in January at CR :rotfl2:

High rise buildings, hotels in particular do not as a custom have 13th floors. Some people have phobias against staying on the 13th floors so hotels skip it and give you a room on the 14th floor.

I'm pretty sure you can get a 13th floor room at the Hollywood Tower Hotel in Hollywood Studios. Its a real scream! ;) Be careful. I think something's wrong with the elevator over there. People are just dying to get out of there.

Just booked our upcoming trip for this January and we will be staying at the Contemporary!! This will be our first time staying there and we cannot wait. We wanted a resort on the monorail and the rooms are what made drew us to the CR. They just look sooooo relaxing. Let the countdown begin!!!!!!!!

Congragulations and have a great time.

We are booked at the Contemporary for 3n/4d so obviously a quick trip but it's in December and we are going just to see the Christmas shows/parades/decs/etc.

I am SO excited. For such a short trip I could not imagine staying anywhere else. Walk to the Magic Kingdom, ride the monorail to resorts and parks, boat over to WL. A DREAM! We love the rooms and with my DS5 who is a train nut he will love the monorail watching/riding.

To make it all better we received an e-mail last Friday from our DU agent with news that the new discount codes saved us $635. Great news! This is my birthday/X-mas present and it is the only thing I want to do, I feel blessed that we are able to do it.

I read through the Contemp. threads, looked at the pictures and then I do it all over again. I've bookmarked the pages with pictures on my data device so when I'm bored I can look at the Dis pics of the Contemporary. I did this with SSR too, I'm obsessed.

I will say this is the one place DH and I really want to stay, it's going to be so fun.

I would like to bring mil next year for a longer trip and do a split stay at the GF/Contemporary. I think she would love it. I'll have to see if my bank account can love it.

We did all the rides/attractions in June so we are really going to focus on the Christmas aspect. We went once before at X-Mas but I was so sick that I missed alot including the Osbourne Lights!

Our extended family is going to think we are nuts for making our 4th trip since Dec 05. What can I say, we are hooked!

I love this thread for all the info and pics and thanks for reading if you made it this far!

Safety vibes to all those in Fay's path and Fun vibes to all those at WDW and leaving for their trips soon! Take pictures, post reports!

Disney Cheers to all, :)

If you, like most of us, plan your next WDW trip before you depart on your upcoming one, remember to inquire about bounceback discounts while you are there.

And do have a lot of fun in December.

Congrats!!! I'm trying to get tower room but not having much luck so we are currently booked at WL for January. Hope you enjoy your stay and have a fantastic time!!!!

Wow. Congrats to everyone who is going to the Contemporary in the near future!:thumbsup2 I stayed there about a year ago and I loved being so close to Magic Kingdom and having the monorail to take to the other resorts and the other monorail to Epcot. I remember watching Wishes from our 6th floor balcony and from the California Grill.

I also LOVE the Disney store at the Contemporary. Even when I am not staying at the Contemporary I find some time to check out the store. They have a great pin collection and I have found some rare Haunted Mansion limited editions pins there on more than one occasion.

Thank You! I will definitely check the bounceback offer. I love planning the next trip, usually before I take the current trip!
