We will be there in 15 DAYS!!!!!! We booked Magic Kingdom view so I am guessing there is no way we would get an upgrade :( unless they bumped us to Atrium level :thumbsup2 I am not expecting any upgrade but am looking so so forward to staying there. How is it so far? room, is the Wave open?
Have lots of fun!!!

We're at the CR right now enjoying our upgraded MK view room. There is nothing like drifting off to sleep watching the castle change colors or having that morning coffee on the balcony. :goodvibes

there is a lot of construction between the tower next door, extensive new landscaping out front and the former Concorse Steakhouse. None of it feels disruptive, though.

Does anyone have any questions?
Congragulations on the upgrade and are you trying to say they have started the construction of turning the Concourse Steakhouse into Chef Mickey's Express?

Have a GREAT stay! Can you tell me what time the water pageant passes by the CR? Is it best to go down by the pool to view it or can you see it from somewhere in the hotel? Thanks!

Let's say you got an upgrade to the Atrium Club Level there is a chance you might end up with the Bay Lake View, even though you had a reservation for the Magic Kingdom View. Since you can not make a reservation for a specifc room on the Atrium Club Level that is why, so it would not matter what type of view you had a reservation for if you know what I mean. However I would still say it's a great upgrade because of all the services they offer you up there.

Also it was posted on here from WDW that The Wave is opening on June7th for dinner and on June 8th it's opening for all other meals, so those would be breakfast and lunch.

Anxiously awaiting the 1st Wave report!! Hope to see pictures as well. We'll be at CR the first week of Oct. Do you think all the indoor construction (ie, Chef Mickey's Express, The Wave, etc.) will be completed?

If you are in a MK view tower room can you see/hear the Bay Lake Towers construction when you are on the balcony?

Kind of makes you wonder why they would move it just a few feet away? The only reason I can think of is they want to turn that area into a bigger waiting area for guests at Chef Mickey's when they wait to be seated. Plus with the Tempo Grab & Go no longer being there once Chef Mickey's Express opens they will have that huge space and want to fill it with something, so moving the Outer Rim would make the most sesne.

Yup, that's pretty much how it was described to us. I wrote about it when we were there (post 729 on page 49). Here's the link:

You can't see any of the construction. In this photo all of the balconies are MK view. You can see that the new tower construction is well behind them. Our balcony was the 4th from the left on the top floor. I don't recall whether we could hear any of the construction noise on the balcony, but there's plenty of other noise around -- ferry horns, traffic below, conversations on other balconies, etc. There's a lot of activity around the CR during the daytime.

Last August my family and I were room #4847 which is on the 12th floor and is the 2nd closest room to the Magic Kingdom and we did not see any of the construction going on where the North Garden Wing building use to be.

I apologize in advance for multiple posts--the computer here doesn't have a lot of the normal stuff like notepad or multiple windows.

Where were you upgraded from? What time does the construction start? We like to sleep in a little.

I booked the convention rate, so it was a complete pot luck. My original ressie said "garden wing-standard view" though the CM at group reservations said they could put the conventioneers anywhere. I feel very lucky to get a MK view for 9 nights!

I'm not sure when the construction starts. When I close the doors of this room and close the balcony door, I don't hear a thing. It's very quiet. We are up early but come back and nap daily.

Although we'll probably never stay at the Contemporary (we love the Wilderness Lodge), we do love visiting it several times every trip. We always eat at least once at each of the Contemporary's restaurants every trip. And it's also a place we shop, as well as transfer to and from the Monorail when needed.

So I just wanted to say that you guys rock! It's great to see the enthusiasm for this place. The Contemporary is quintessential Walt Disney to me.

And like the rest of you, I'm looking forward to hearing about the Wave (and perhaps like a few of you, I'll miss the Concourse Steakhouse)!

The room is fantastic. It's very well decorated, yet everything has a purpose. Lots of space to put stuff, decent seating. Attractive yet practical. The beds are comfy. The bathroom is very well designed for a family needing a little privacy. I do wish there was a little more drawer space.

There are a couple of glitches with the room--a plug in the bathroom doesn't work, a light is out, and some drawer seem to drift open. We don't complain because we're afraid they'll move us to a PERFECTLY working room that is NOT a MK view! :lmao:

Hopefully it will stay like that the whole time during this part of the renovations for anyone with an upcoming reservation for the Magic Kingdom view.

Yes, it looks like it. You can look right down into it, I'll try to get some pics later.

Oh, and to the last poster, yes, I believe the Wave is open. We saw signs but we're not going to be eating there.

Thanks!

I wish I could answer your question, but we haven't seen it yet, except from the monorial one night. I think we have to go to the bay side to see it. I think the pool area would be good. Someone else may be able to answer, or maybe I'll catch it before I leave.
