20% discount for cancelled on existing reservation

For those who have ever received the 20% discount on a future sailing cause their sailing was cancelled, have you ever tried to apply it to an existing reservation. If so were you succesful?
I ve been on the waiting list for a service dog and got to the next round and got a more concrete planning now… between my Panama 26 and expiration of the discount t I wont be able to sail (I can not leave the EU during training and need to be available on a weekly basis for training and coaching)
Panama is sold out so cancelling and rebooking is not an option (esp since I have an accessible room) so wonder if I could be succesful applyibg it to our existing reservation (yes I can call but my condition comes with chronic fatigue and making an overseas call in a different language wears me out)

I am glad you are making progress toward getting a service dog to help you.

I applied a discount for a cancelled cruise to a future reservation, but my travel agent may have cancelled and rebooked. In my case, though, the cruise was many months away and wasn't sold out, so I didn't care how she booked it.

Even if someone else was unable to apply the discount, you might be able to get it done since your situation is different. When you have the energy, it is worth calling Disney Cruise Line to ask.
 
We haven't applied it yet because we're waiting to see the Fall 2026 itineraries, but our TA said she called and confirmed that we can apply it to our already booked 2026 WBPC without cancelling & rebooking. Like you, we didn't want to risk losing our WBPC room. Still a little apprehensive about actually doing it. :)

Yes. I received the 20% discount for a future sailing from a disrupted Wish cruise. I was able to apply it to an already-booked cruise for later that same year. I was also able to use it on Concierge!

Note that the discount only applies to those on the disrupted/cancelled cruise. For example, in my case, I was sailing solo on the Wish cruise that got me the 20%. I was sailing with my parents on the cruise later that year that I applied the 20% to-I was only able to get 20% off of my fare, not m parents', because they weren't on the disrupted cruise. Even so, getting that 20% discount off concierge as the lead guest was a huge savings (and since we split the cost of the cruise evenly, they still got to benefit).

I have no complaints about how DCL does that, I'm just noting to manage expectations.
 
Some people in my cruise group confirmed the same. We were both supposed to be on both cruises. I called last night and they applied the 20 percent for both of us on the fare (just like placeholder not on the portfees) so we made some nice savings on our Panama. After Panama we are heading to DL and wanted to do the Legacy at the park hotel but if rates are compareable to this year, we may opt for an actual Disney room using the savings… so basically the mouse is getting our discount back in his wallet hahaha
