We will be at the Contemporary Tower MK View with our twins girls May 3rd throught 9th what are your dates?? I cannot wait to see the view of the Magic Kingdom from our room we go to Disney every year but this is going to be our first stay at the CR.

Anita
We are at the CR April 26-April 30 and then the Beach Club April 30-May 4. Maybe I'll see you in the parks!

How is the attendance in the parks looking for next week? We are coming in on Thurs. and leaving on Sunday. Someone said that a lot of places have their spring break this coming week. I hope it isn't too terrible. We are celebrating my step-son's 13th. We are excited about going. Mk view is the only way to stay. :cloud9: We were there in Dec. and loved it. That's why we are going back!

This question has been posted many times and according to Cr Resort for Life..he states that any room on the MK side is a great view..it really doesn't matter so don't stress out! I have a MK view, as well, in August and I know from reading this thread that I can not go wrong with any room! Have a great trip!
Like I have said before about this topic my family and I have had a Magic Kingdom view as low as the 6th floor (there are none on the 5th floor because of the Monorail station) and as high as the 14th floor. In our opinion we did not see a difference being that low or that high when it came to looking at the Magic Kingdom, however someone else might think the opposite of that.

Oh good. So I should be able to get around the resort? I really don't want to book if an area of the resort would be closed off to me or something. I know it was built before the ADA laws.

Even though the tower rooms are more expensive, they are still easier to get to the shops and everything right? Do the tower wings/garden wings use the same elevator? Is there only one elevator, should expect to wait some time for it right?
If you were to stay on any floor in the Tower it's a very easy ride in the elevator to the 4th floor so you can look in the shops. Since my family and I have never stayed in the Garden Wing I am not sure if they use the same elevators as the Tower, however if I were to guess I don't see why they wouldn't.

All of the WDW resorts are in compliance with the ADA laws, so you won't find any part of the CR inaccessible. The garden wing and the tower are two separate buildings, each with entry level doors that open automatically. For security reasons, at night you may have to swipe your key card (which will also be your room key) to open those doors, but in the daytime they will open automatically for you.

I'm not sure what you're asking about the elevators, but each building has its own elevators. The shops and restaurants are in the tower. If you're staying in the garden wing, it would be a short distance (5 min. or less) to the tower, through the automatic doors and straight ahead about 10 yards to the elevators, then up to the 4th floor for the shops, restaurants, and monorail (which does have its own separate elevator to the platform). When you say you should expect to wait some time, I assume you're alluding to the complaints that the tower elevators are slow? They sometimes are during busy periods, but it's mostly because so many people are using them at once. It's not all that bad and I think sometimes people are in too much of a hurry at WDW because there's so much to do. You'll be fine there.:goodvibes

I am wading my way through this re-incarnated CR thread ( :wave2: Denise!). I do have a question, though...

When I look on WDW.com I am offered a "Standard Room - Atrium Club" room, but the description reads: The Tower Club offers limited concierge service, Continental breakfast, midday snacks, and refrigerator (upon request). All rooms have two queen-size beds or one king-size bed, day bed, table and chairs, ceiling fan, and large bathroom with private commode. Tower Concierge Rooms offer views of the Magic Kingdom® Park and parking area, or Bay Lake. Non-smoking and disabled-accessible rooms are available. Amenities include in-room wall safe, voice mail, data port on lighting fixture, phone in bath area, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Coffeemaker and refrigerator are available upon request

So, has the terminology changed? Am I booking a 12th floor room or a 14th floor room? Thanks for a reply!

That is the 12th floor Atrium Club room. It is FULL service concierge, and WDW has never updated their description. View is by request only. I think when it says "Tower Club" they mean a Club room in the Tower bldg. Have fun, Elin! You know how much we enjoyed staying on the 12th floor in 2006.

Thanks for the update, Denise. I know you and John and the figs are very excited to be going very soon. We are in the planning stages for Christmas this year and I am considering CR as one of our choices. I will let you know what we decide!

Thank you to you and CRFan!

If you look at the 1st page of this thread you will see links to other pictures of the 12th floor floor lounge, where you can see that it's full service Concierge.

Do any of the Photo Pass people hang out by the pool? Or resort at all? I know this may be a long shot! We will be there May 17-22, and wondering if the Photo Pass CD would be worth it.

The only WDW Resort with a Photo Pass station is located at the Grand Floridian, which is located just to the right where you would exit when coming off the Monorail.

Thanks for the quick information! We'll have to think about it some more. I know the kids will love that slide into the pool! One more question..anyone know how much 1/2 gallon of milk sells for in the gift shop? O.J? I remember seeing that stuff last time we toured the CR, just would've never dreamed we be staying there!!!

I don't remember the exact costs at the Sundries store, however I would say right to assume it would cost more then what they charge at Wal-Mart and Target.

Maybe you could help, have you purchased items from the Sundries gift shop... Milk, OJ, breakfast type items? If so, how was the selection? I know the price probably is outrageous, but I'm trying to make things easy! Thanks in advance!

Jenny

I haven't, but I'll be there in 27 days and will write down all the prices!

I personally think the photopass CD is a great buy, but make sure to buy it before you leave. You can pre-purchase by going to www.disneyphotopass.com. When you pre-purchase the CD, you will receive an e-mail with a code that you will use when you return from your trip. Use your PhotoPass cards to access all of your photos, and do all of your editing (or if you have already edited them while at WDW you will be ready). You then add the photo CD to your cart at the PhotoPass web site, and enter the code you received in your e-mail, which will remove the charge for the CD plus the shipping charge.

This will save you some money - $99.95 including shipping when you pre-order vs. $124.95 plus shipping if you wait to order the CD until after your trip.

Thanks so much for the reply. I can't figure out if I should pack some food type things for breakfast, or bite the bullet and pay the prices that are in the gift shop. I guess it depends on what the choices are and how $$$. My boys love OJ but it can't be "from concentrate", and donuts are a fun treat if they are available, so please post when you return! We are going May 17-22!! Tower Bay Lake view whoo hoo.

Here are the prices I paid at the CR "Fantasia Store No. 1506" (the store by the 4th floor fireworks viewing area) in December 07:

1/2 gallon of milk: $2.95
2 liter diet Coke : $3.50
14 oz bag of pretzels (mm shaped): $2.49
Dannon Yogurt: $1.25
Dozen donuts: $3.99
Bananas were $.99 each.
