jcb,
That's a good question about the tree. I don't remember reading anything, however since I will be there in December I can see for myself what the answer will be.

Me too! And while we won't be staying at CR (my inlaws booked and paid for it!!!), we have Chef Mickey dinner reservations on 12/5 so I am really hoping to see the tree and take some better decoration photos.

Have a great stay!

CR - I didn't realize you were going to be there at Christmas! Maybe we'll see you in passing even though we are staying in the garden wing (in-laws are paying for our room so I can't complain!)

CR4L,

Thanks.

I may be remembering things wrong but does anyone else recall hearing that the outside Christmas tree at the entrance to CR won't be there this year due to the parking lot changes?

wow...I sure hope this isn't true:sad2: we are staying 2 nights, Dec 5th and 6th and really hoping to see the CR tree up close:santa:

We are here now!!!

Just a little update. The new counter service (I never remember what the new name is supposed to be:sad2: ) will be open the first week of Nov.
The walls are down and the seating area is actually now open. People use it to sit and eat after purchasing from the Tempo Grab & Go. Most stationary areas like the counters and register areas are all done as well as carpeting and tile work.. No refridgeraters and ovens yet though.

Thank you for that update and keep having fun. :thumbsup2

I also noticed that in the 3rd picture from the Contempo Cafe that they are putting in those self sereve ordering machines like they have at Captin Cook's.

So, does that mean that the construction is almost finished? Keeping my finger crossed for no construction in Dec!!!!:goodvibes

I just wanted to post because I stayed in the CR tower for the first time at the end of September - with an MK view. I had stayed in the old (gone) North wing a few years ago. We stayed 2 nights before our DCL cruise and we had a great stay overall. I really like the CR - I don't know why - maybe just cause it is so close to the MK! The room was in great shape and the MK view was awesome. We were on the 10th floor closer to the Chef Mickey's and I was surprised at how much you can hear from the restaurant. I would wake up around 7:30 and hear them announcing things from down there - and the music. It wasn't enough to wake me up or be annoying. I guess if you wanted total quiet though you wouldn't not get it!

The pool area was very nice. The little CS place was limited but o.k. - I know that will change soon when the construction is done. The construction wasn't a bother. Pool area was very nice. We spent much of one day at the pool and the construction over at BLT wasn't an issue - it seemed far away.

I have to say I came home VERY tempted to buy into BLT - just waiting for some better incentives!:thumbsup2

I'd like to return a favor for several of you who posted great pictures and provided useful information. We stayed at the Contemporary the first of September. It was our first time there and before we left, I pretty much devoured as much information as I could find, a lot of it from this thread.

I've got a Trip Report running (see link in my signature below, it's The Battle For My Wallet VI.). The chapter I posted this morning (page 10) has a review of the hotel and some pictures of the room and the view. I hope that's helpful to other people who read this thread and are either planning an upcoming trip or, having been there, just looking to see some pictures and read some more about how great the place is.

I am also going to read your trip report.

Great TR! Thanks!

Hmm..we've stayed in Tower (MK view) and the old North Wing Garden rooms (monorail view, we could also see part of the MK - it was fabulous), but I'm confused...thought all the Tower rooms to the north/ MK side of the building are also Chef Mickey's side?

Someone willing to help me get this straight in my head, please?

Thanks much!

There are rooms in the Tower on both the Magic Kingdom side and Bay Lake side that are over Chef Mickey's.
