The New DIS Videos: Five Minutes at a Disney Park Bench - Where at the Fort?

Folks,

If you listen to the DIS podcast from 2/5/13 http://www.disunplugged.com/2013/02/06/dis-unplugged-podcast-020513-orlando-show/ they did a segment where they checked in (and out) of 7 WDW resorts in 7 days.

During their visits they set up a camera and just let it run for 5 minutes recording whatever. It is the equivalent of just sitting down on a bench somewhere and "people watching". Here are three videos from the recent 7 in 7 visit: (hint - check out right after the 4 minute mark on the Port Orleans Riverside vid. It's funny. I've been that guy)

The videos were a nice desk break for me to see the pleasant sights, hear the relaxing sounds, and feel almost like I was there. (although I don't stay at the other resorts - only the Fort).

So my question to all of you (and I would like LOTS of participation here from you DISsers) is:

If the DIS Podcast team came to the Fort to film a 5 minute video, where would you suggest they do it? What do you want to see or hear when you are stuck at home wishing you were at the Fort? I want you to nominate locations in this thread and after maybe a week I'll put together another thread with a poll so we can vote.

I think a nomination will need three points of information:

1. Where (to set up the camera)
2. Which direction (do you want the camera to point in)
3. Time of day (early morning, late afternoon, specific to anything? etc.)

COME ON FOLKS! We're the only resort-specific board on the DIS (there's no Polynesian Resort Board). I want lots of suggestions and comments.

I think we can only put 6 options in a poll so if you like someone else's nomination, chime in with a "me too" to help me narrow down the poll listings.

Set up so it will take in the beach at night with people sitting in the chairs and kids playing in the sand nearby, pointed towards the fireworks over magic kingdom. Sigh......I so wish I was there....

Toward the lake.

That would be a good suggestion, sbnewhampshire. Would you point the camera down toward the Settlement TP/marina to get people coming or going from the boats?

Or would you point it up toward Hoop Dee Doo in the late afternoon/early evening to see folks checking in for their dinner?

These mentioned so far are all down in the Pioneer Hall/marina area. Is there anyplace else to consider...maybe around the Meadow Trading Post?

We've got a few more.

1. Meadow Swimming Pool - pan shot from entrance, any time of the day, with a zoom in on the slide (my DD loved this pool, and really so did I and the DW)

2. Dog park - maybe not everyone would want to see this, but for those of us with doggie children this really is one of the best features of the campground. I think if you shoot from the direction of the playground you can get the whole thing in. Early morning or later in the evening would be good shots.

3. Not a specific shot, but I think some pictures of the horses would be good - either down by the barn or the horse drawn carriages or the hay rides.

And, to echo what someone said before: sigh, wish we were there....

My favorite spot...A rocking chair in front of Trail's End. in the morning (having coffee) watching families head to the dock or late afternoon (having a beer) watching families come back.

I enjoyed sitting on the porch at the Meadows facing the street. I watched the bus load and unload, people riding their bikes up to the trading post or walking up from the GC lot, and the pedestrian, golf cart and bike traffic on the road.

That's a "life at the Fort" type feeling.

My first thoughts were the beach and marina.
But to think of something different!
If you could sit at one of the campgrounds all by yourself(without any people around) early in the morning and hear the birds first start to sing and possibly see the deer in the early fog(which I did one morning on my very first camping trip). Just see and hear the nature!
