Just stayed at CSR last weekend. We originally asked for Cabanas, non-smoking, king size, waterview. (Yes, I know that's alot, but they did it!) However.... it had a handicap shower, which I did not feel comfortable with.

So... they offered to move us to the smoking optional Cabana to keep us in a King size, waterview room. OMG, it was horrible. A CM came with us cause he knew we would not want to stay in that room, & boy was he right!!! Just make sure you specifically request non-smoking, unless you smoke!

He suggested Casitas 5 on the fourth floor, and we were VERY pleased. It had a King size bed, a view of the pool, the Dolphin & Swan hotel, & Illuminations. So, if your looking for a view, the 4th floor Casita waterviews can be worth it depending on which direction they face.

The bus stop was not far either. However, it is a distance from the pool & the main building. We had a car, so that was not an issue, but something to think about.

Friends of ours got a smoking optional room. You'd think they just had an all night poker game and smoking was mandatory. We switched and got a nice room in cabana 9b. Just a reminder that some of the rooms in cabana 9a are smoking optional.

No, we could see the waterfall from the Dig Site. (Didn't mean quiet pool, sorry!) You can see the top of the pool, along with the tops of the Dolphin & Swan. Of course a beautiful lake view, but the best part was watching the Illuminations fireworks the night we arrived!

This was all from Casitias 5, 4th floor, on the water side. That building makes a U shape & we directly faced the lake. It was a great room!!!

However.... one bad thing.... our TV did not work It did not wanna turn on, then when it did, wouldn't turn off. We slept with it on the whole first night. Called maintenance, he came up, said he would replace the TV while we were out. My DBF marked the TV on back just to see if he replaced it....... (shocker) It was the same TV when we returned, and yes, it still didn't work.
We were not in the room that much, and learned to deal with it, but that was actually the first time we were disappointed by a CM. Oh well, it happens. Still liked the place anyway!!

BTW, the Maya Grill has the BEST breakfast buffet. The breakfast burritos and the bisciuts & gravy are TO DIE FOR!!! YUMMMMMMM!!!

We are staying at CSR in 17days!! We have stayed here before but its beena few years. I am wanting to make a room request. It needs to be non smoking, double beds and a great view!! I need some suggestions. Thanks!!

I will be a CSR 6.24 - 6.29. When will you be there - I am attending a convention that tends to be quite large for "normal size" venues but may only be a drop in the bucket for the space at CSR. My assumption is that convention visitors are normally placed in the Casistas and given the suggestions on the board I am going to request no-smoking, double beds and upper level.......I wish the folks that visit this board had a trading pin or shirt so that we could meet and greet when we run into each other at the WORLD...

We will be at the resort during the same time period - I am attending a large convention which i hope does not disrupt other at CSR just for "pleasure"

We REALLY don't want ranchos, just don't like the theming. We don't really care what floor we are on, just non-smoking, king bed, and no handicapped shower please. Thanks!

Make sure you have BIG bits of green ribbon! I bought 3m and barely had enough for the cases, hand luggage and bumbags (still, being British didn't want to draw attention to myself ) You can get DIS products online - the service is very good and postage reasonable too. I bought two of the big pens for DS's and one of the water-safe things to use in the pool, Blizzard Beach etc - VERY lime!

That happens to most of us -- we go with our lime green and go home thinking 'where were all the other DISers?' I have a suggestion for your next trip, check the DIS-Meets section of this board. If you don't see anything for your dates, you can start a thread seeing if anyone there during your dates wants to plan a *meet*. We just had one in May and it was so much fun to meet so many DISers at one time!!

Besides the Meets @ WDW, there are meets in other cities or regions too! I think it's a good idea to check it periodically - you never know when you might find something near you, or in a city you'll be visiting on that date!
