In Passporter guide book only Cabanas 9a are smoking rooms, the rest of the resort is non smoking.

Oh no, not because of the smoking room issue. For I amm relived to hear that only a small segment of their rooms are smoking.

But moreso because this will be our first time at WDW and thought that perhaps it may be worth calling and seeing how much more per night it would be to get us into the WL instead.

I don't know...!! :(

Hi earthless :)

The choice between staying at WL and CSR is a toughie!! I've stayed at both and loved them, WL is my fav deluxe and CSR my fav moderate (it just sneaks by as my fav overall resort with WL as a close 2nd) As far as price difference goes, in terms of rack rates here's the info

For Regular Season (as i understand you are going in 32 days according to your countdown :))

Coronado
Standard View = $144
Water View = $159
King Bed = $159

Wilderness Lodge
Standard View = $239
Woods View = $254
Courtyard View = $290
Concierge = $385
Deluxe Room = $435

My personal recommendation in terms of staying at Wilderness Lodge is go courtyard if you are gonna go. The view is just amazing! We were on the 5th floor south side about halfway along the wing.

Either resort will be spectacular and I hope you enjoy your trip, if you have any question please feel free to leave me a message :)

I just got back today from CSR and loved it. We were in the Ranchos section - 7A. Although the resort is large, the walking was very manageable. It didn't take long to walk anywhere at the resort. I was especially pleased with the buses. They were very efficient.

Very cool to hear!! ::yes::

I have a question about storing luggage. We will be arriving about 8:00 AM and will need to do something with our luggage. My daughter takes medicine that can't be left out in the heat but it doesn't need to be refrigerated either. Leaving it in the trunk of the car isn't an option obviously. Do you know if the place they store luggage is air conditioned and if not any ideas on what I could do with her meds? These are extremely important anti-rejection meds so I need to figure something out. Thanks!!!

we have stayed in a standard room- basically two double beds, a suite that has connecting rooms( same size) one with double beds and the other with a pull down bed, couch, tv, bathroom, desk with fax etc. and the exc suite- 5 rooms total: one large master suite with king size bed and walk in bathroom with jacuzzi tub and sep shower- office/ sitting area- dining room- bar area with frig, sink connecting the family room- with pull out couch, tv- with vcr, bose surround sound and cd player,-another room with two double bed ( basically their standard room) its room #1187 in casita 1 if Im correct. It was sweet for sure.

Liz,

I believe when we stayed at CSR in October (and in the past) that luggage is stored inside the main building where you check in. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. When you arrive be sure to tell the person that greets you out front the importance of storing the luggage inside. Just to be safe, I'd attach a large note to the bag where the medication is.

Have a greet time.

Buzz and others,

I just wanted to thank you for all the info on CSR. I was seriously considering staying at the Swan for my trip in September. However, after comparing the 7 for 5 Dream Maker package vs. the teacher rate plus a 5 day hopper, it was $300 cheaper to stay at CSR with the Unlimited Park Hopper for 8 days!

I have stayed at the YC, CR, POR (twice - when it was still DL) and FW, but am excited to experience something new! Plus, I think my 7 yr old DD will love the Dig Site. I am also traveling with my mom and my other DD who will be 16 months by then.

I can't wait for September!

Well after reading all the great info here we too have booked CSR for the end of Aug. for 7 nights! My mom is coming along and most likely won't come to the parks with us every day so I was thinking of requesting a room by the quiet pool in Cabanas 9a. We are paying for waterview. Does anyone know any of the rooms by the pool also have a view of the lake?

Thanks so much!

SuAnne, I don't know if it makes a difference to you or not, but an earlier reply stated that Cabanas 9A is the smoking section of CSR. The rest of the rooms are non smoking. Thought you might want to know that before requesting a room. Can't give you any suggestions because we are headed there ourselves for the first time in September and are trying to figure out the best location to stay in!!:sunny:
