They didn't ask me where I wanted to stay at CSR. I just picked the waterview and am crossing my fingers. :yo-yo:

The last time we went to CSR, we could fax a room request up tp 4 days in advance. Is this still the way it works? Also, does anyone have a current fax number (just in case the one I have has changed)? Thanks!

Woohoo! In two weeks I'll be on my way to WDW and my 10 night stay at CSR. I was there in August 2003, but only for a brief stay, from what I could see I was in one of the rooms in the Casitas that had been recently refurbished, bnew carpet, new bedspreads, looked like the furniture had been touched up, didn't look as worn out. Hopefully I'll get into the Casitas again.

Anyways, I'll write up a full resort report when I get back, I trip report and dining too :) I'm sooooo pumped :hyper: :earseek:

As far as the question about Casitas 9B, I think there might be some standard view, but to my knowledge most of 9A and 9B are waterview

So Buzz, if you have a standard room reserved not waterview, can still possibly get Cabanas 9B?
yes, its possible. I have gotten it once and I have gotten 8a 3 times and I never request a waterview room. Most cabana rooms are waterview anyway.

My family of 6 adults are going to WDW in May 2005 and I am debating on where to stay. 2 bedroom villas at OKW or suite at CSR. Does anyone know how big the suite are? I know the OKW Villas in appx. 1300 sq feet. I may have to rent two suite at CSR so the sizes on JR suite 1 bedroom suite and two bedroom. Do the suite have kitchens? mircowaves? refig?. Any help would be appriecated the cost at OKW is appx 5,400.00 I am trying to low my cost so maybe CSR would be a better deal. Also, what discount apply to this resort? AAA? Amer express? Disney Visa? thank for you help!!

Suites: maximum 4-6 Guests
Stay in a Junior Double with Sico bed (sleeps 6); one bedroom suite with Sico or king bed (sleeps 4-6); or Executive two bedroom suite (sleeps 6).
Junior from $275
1 Bedroom from $560
2 Bedroom Executive from $835

2004 ROOM RATES
Tax not Included

Value /Regular/Peak/Holiday

Double Jr. Suite $280 $325 $380 $420
King Jr. Suite $300 $ 350 $ 410 $ 440
Double 1-Bedroom Suite $560 $615 $685 $750
King 1-Bedroom Suite $560 $615 $685 $750
Executive 2-Bedroom Suite $835 $910 $980 $1105

This is what I could find on Disney's site and at allears.net. I also read that a Jr. Suite is essentially two connecting rooms with one left as a bedroom and the other set up as a living room. So, if a regular room is 314 square feet, then a jr. suite should be 628 square feet. I couldn't find anything on the others, but I'm sure someone here knows, right?

We just booked CSR for our September trip. We asked for a non smoking room and were told that they are all non smoking. Does anyone know if this is true?

I thought they had some smoking rooms but maybe they have gone all smokeless. I'll have to check when I get there.

Buzz.. after studying your site, decided we wanted to give CSR a try. Just got the 7 for 5 package booked for our September trip. Now I can't wait to go!:hyper: Really looking forward to it. I am sure we will love it. When are you going? What do you suggest that we request for a room location? We don't want to be too far away. Thanks!

We are going as soon as school lets out in June. Our first ever June trip but since we took our DD out of school for the Disney cruise in November, I didn't want to push it again in April. We love the cabana section, any of them really but 9b is closest to everything.

how cool would the two bed suite be? Anyone stayed or even seen one? Are suites available in each section or only Casitas? Looking forward to our June visit~ Ole!:sunny:

I think your best bet would be to rent points from a DVC owner.
You could probably get a 2 bedroom villa at OKW, for a week, for less than $2,500.
You'd have a full kitchen and lots of room.
You could even get a good deal on a 2 bedroom at The Boardwalk Villas. The Boardwalk is our favorite resort.
In my opinion, it's the best choice for a group of adults.
Renting points is a little scary at first, but I've done it many times and have had no problems.
Feel free to PM me, if you have any questions.
Good luck!

Edited to add:
May 16 - May 23, 2004 - seven nights- Two Bedroom villa, standard view at The Boardwalk = 286 points. The average price for point rental is $10 per point.
$2,860 for a week on The Boardwalk! That's the total price, no tax or resort fees apply.
If you stayed 5 nights, Sunday through Thursday, it would only cost around $1,500.
The weekend nights are 68 points, weekday nights are only 30 points.

Sarahj

I just stayed at Coronado Springs and asked for a non-smoking room. When I arrived, they had booked us into a room in the Casitas section and I asked if there were any rooms left in the Cabanas. I was told that there were only smoking rooms available in the Cabanas section, so I would definately say that they still have smoking rooms in this resort.

Hope this helps.

Hannah

Hannah, Thanks for letting me know. We will make sure we request non smoking when it gets closer and we put in a room request. I am allergic to smoke, and would have a really hard time if we didnt' get a non smoking room. Thanks! We can't wait to go!

ewwww.. same here. I will have to make sure I can get us a non-smoking room.

I am also having doubts about staying at the CSR in June. I am tempted to move us to the WL. :(

doubts because you may get smoking room? Don't all resorts have the same issue?

Personally I don't have any doubts about staying ata CSR. I am only concerned about getting a non smoking room, but as Buzz said, that can happen at any resort.
