For my parent’s 40th Anniversary :bride: :groom: I’m giving them a Disney Vacation, with one stipulation, I have to go too. So, after a 4-night DCL cruise (1/18-22), we’ll be spending 9-nights (1/22-31) at CSR. This will be their first cruise and first trip to WDW.

My oldest brother is taking his family on the cruise part with us and then they’re staying 2 nights at one of the Value Resorts.

My other brother :firefight is surprising his family Christmas morning with a puzzle that says they are going to join us for part of our WDW stay (1/22-26). They went to WDW on their honeymoon (9 years ago), but the girls - 4 & 18 months - have never been. My SIL and Nieces don’t expect to go until the oldest girl is 6.

For me, this will be my third WDW visit and my second stay at CSR. The first time I stayed there was Labor Day Weekend of this year. You know how everyone has a place that is “their” resort?? Well, CSR wasn’t mine. But when my travel gave me the opportunity of saving over $700 with the AP rate if I would switch from CBR to CSR, I quickly decided to give it a second chance. There was nothing wrong, but it just wasn’t “my” resort!

My travel agent is taking care of most things for me, like room requests, and all that happy stuff. But any comments or suggestions from you folks would be greatly appreciated!

Oh, I do have a quick question:

To save room in our suitcases, we’ve decided to do laundry a couple of times instead of packing 15 days worth of clothes. So, what does it cost to do a load of laundry? The prices at CBR are $2 for a wash and $2 for a dry. Are they the same at CSR?

Thanks!

Washing is $2.00 a load and drying is $2.00 a load at CSR.

Our family has stayed at CSR 4 previous times and have bought refillable mugs for each trip. Now I am curious about the new 64 ounce mug. What does it look like? And is the logo on the CSR regular mugs the same as it has always been?

Thanks in advance! :wave2:

It looks just like the regular mug, but it is much larger.
The mug features the Three Caballeros.

The smaller mugs are on the top shelf of the beverage fridge. The 64oz mugs are sitting on the edge of the cold foods freezer.

Just received a letter from Disney that the Dig Site will be closed from December 15 to December 19th, 2003. The 3 remains pools will stay open.
I just got of the phone with WDW. After two phone calls & three people, the third CM make it sound like the whole dig site will be closed, including the hot tub!!!!!

I am so bummed. Besides CSR being wonderful, I booked it because of the pool's water slide & booked moderate because of the hot tub! I don't want to be a whiner, but I'm really bummed about this.

Has anyone else heard about the hot tub?? I am hoping the CM just got it wrong.

Since the Dig Site is an area unto itself I can see them closing all of it. My guess if if they are rehabing the pool, then the hot tub will probably have some work done as well.

OK. I'm resigned to the fact that the hot tub will probably be closed for 1/2 my stay next week. Is there anywhere else at CSR where we can go & relax in the cold weather? We can throw the kids in the arcades :p , but what about the 4 parents? Is there a lounge at El Centro? Thanks in advance to all you veterans!!!

You can visit Francisco's in El Centro. Good tequila. I have pics on my website or go to the spa and get a message.

Thanks Buzz! I hadn't even paid attention to Francisco's because we're not drinkers, but I am sure we can hot cocoa, coffee or tea there too. As well as a virgin strawberry margarita. :p

Amazingly, we threw together a trip to Disney and CSR in just 2 hours last night, and we'll be there over New Years! We saw the new rate code that came out, putting moderate rooms at $85/night, and DH and I looked at each other and wondered if airfare was affordable right now. Travelocity had amazing rates from O'Hare, $139-163 round trip on just about every airline. So we went from joking about going to booking a trip! I'm excited. We haven't been there since last summer and didn't think we'd get to go again for another year or two. It will be the cheapest Disney trip we've ever taken too, with the airfare and room rates so low, plus we have unused days on our hopper passes from last time. Can't wait!

Magnetic - how did you get a room over New Year's? I have been trying but with no luck for anything under $500 for 12/31/03.

Can anyone tell me what sort of services are offered at the business center?

Is there a place my dad can hook up his digital camera and download his pics to his e-mail or a CD? If not, where else can we do this?

And what are the business centers' hours? When I went in August they were only open certain days and since I wasn't planning on going there in January, I didn't write them down.

Thanks.

The new website is COOL! I go there from time to time just to look at pictures of WDW (am I sad, or what?). Now I have a reason to go back and look!

We saw the new rate code that came out
About these - where do you find them? I hear people talk about finding them in the paper? Is that right? I know that a lot of people save money by booking their trip in separate pieces instead of as a package, I'm sure these room rates help - where are they!!

We're checking in on New Year's Day -- our flight arrives that morning. I didn't even check on new year's eve since we couldn't find reasonable flights that day -- I should have clarified that we were getting there -on- Jan. 1.

About these - where do you find them?

It was in the Chicago Tribune, but Mousesavers.com also keeps a running list of all the codes that are out at any given time, and what rates they are good for.

Found this thread yesterday when we were finalising our trip plans for Easter (we'd more or less decided on Port Orleans) - well, we've decided to go to CSR instead! Got a great AP rate too!
