well i was going to stay at pop century, but after reading all about coronado i have to stay here, but please let me ask a few questions.

buzz2001 says to stay at cabanas 9b or 8a. the most important to me is being close to the pool that has the slide and close to a bus stop.

I am taking my 10 year old son and mother, my girlfriend and her husband and two kids 7 and 9 are also going with us.

we would like rooms next to each other so with being said which area would be best and closest to the pool with the slide. and any other thoughts would be great help.

We stayed in Ranchos 7B. It was very close to the main pool area (called the Dig Site) and also very close to bus stop 4. It was a little longer walk to El Centro from there, but if you want proximity to the pool area and bus, I think 7B would be a good location for you. Our room was very nice.

Ranchos 7b is right behind cabana 8a. That would be my third choice. Good views all around. The way the buildings are situated, all views are good. Check out the map on my CSR website below. 7b has the quiet pool so you could get a view of the pool.

Yes you can. Siestas (the bar) is located at the main pool. Great nachos too! Check out pictures on my website below

We had booked a standard room. Our view was of the area between our building and the Dig Site pool area (lawn, trees, foilage, sidewalks, etc). You really couldn't see the pool from our view as it has a lot of foilage around it, but the resort is very pretty so we felt it was a good view.

As Buzz said, we had the quiet pool for our area right at the bottom of the steps. It was a lovely pool as well.

buzz2001 and blessed mom of two thanks for your help, but i need to ask another question.

I would like to stay it the cabana 8A, when i make my ressie i can ask for that building but i know that it's not 100%. i know i can fax by request five days in advance,

but say 50 people fax the same request five days in advance, but if i arrive at CSR first thing in the morning will i have a better chance getting what i want.

I am travling from Alabama but having to start at 6:00 in the evening thought about staying the night in Gainesville Fl then only having 2 hrs to get to disney.

please let me know if this is correct about first come first serve.

We just left on the 11th. Loved the resort. We stayed in Ranchos 7B. We actually received our request for Cabanas 8B, but it wasn't ready when we checked in, so we took 7B. The quiet pool was FAR from quiet on Friday night. Until midnight.

If I came away from CSR with any helpful information, it is this: the 64oz. refillable mug gets HEAVY on the walk from the Pepper Market.

We ate breakfast twice and dinner once at the PM. The 10% surcharge/gratuity was no big deal. They had people SWARMING and working hard in there. I don't begrudge them the charge at all. The food was pricey even without the charge...but no surprise there. The menus are available at Buzz's and Epcotfan's sites, IIRC, and it's on Disney property...market conditions don't apply!

I was VERY impressed with the quality at the PM. Usually you have low expectations of even glorified food courts. But those guys work hard, are super-nice, and the food is cooked fresh.

That said, we ate at Boma and Whispering Canyon to get a look at those resorts. I think we will stay at AKL next time, even though we loved CSR. AKL looks great, and we want to experience lots of what Disney has to offer.

Just thought of another tip: if you have access to a car...USE IT.

The drives to MGM, Epcot, and AK are easy. Blizzard Beach is a no-brainer. I wish we had driven more instead of waiting on buses. Please don't misunderstand. The bus service was excellent to/from CSR. But you still wait for them.

However, if you plan on staying for the park closing (Illuminations or Fantasmic), take the bus. Also, if you plan on doing EMH, buses get in faster, I believe.

Choosing the car or bus depends on your plans. But I would definitely drive to BB.

I am going to be staying at CSR for my next trip (in 5 days!) and I am so happy to see a thread devoted to this resort.

My DH and I stayed here three years ago and we loved it so much we are staying there again, plus I think I convinced the surgeon I work with to stay here on their next trip! They stayed at AKL last time, but they were never in the room to enjoy it! I recommended this resort and I hope they love it too.

I have a mug question, which is sort of off topic, but I read something about two mug sizes? A regular size one and a large one? Was I mistaken? I can't find the post now.

I also wanted to bump this back up!

Almost seven weeks to go, and can't wait!

We've requested Casitas 2 or 3 and have standard room reservations.

Can someone tell me what the distance to Pepper Market, Dig Site, and closest Bus Stop are from Casitas 2 or 3. I'm the planner in our group (18 family members! ) for this trip and I was thinking we wanted to be closer to the bus stop and PM, than the Dig Site (December weather temps?).

But now that I've learned that the Dig Site pool is heated, we may go there a couple times.

We just returned from there about a week and half ago.

Last year we stayed in Casitas #3 and we found that bus stop #1 was the closest for us. The walk to the Pepper Market is a few minutes walk. The Dig Site is a bit further away. This time around we stayed in Casitas #5 and it was about a ten minute walk to the Dig Site. You actually don't notice the walking distance when you are there. We walked to the Main Building daily and I didn't mind the walk.

On this trip I am glad we were put in Casitas #5 which was close to Bus Stop #2 for us. The bus stop is the first one they stop at to pick up people and the first stop the drop off people. Not sure if this schedule stays the same year out though. There were several times the buses were so full in the morning they never made it to all the stops. You will be going at a great time. I wish we would have been able to go in December but I would be too far along in my pregnancy at that time. You will probably find the bus stops not too crowded so it won't matter what building you stay in.

Tired? Take the bus to the main building instead of walking
Theme park buses go:
2 - Casitas
3 - Ranchos
4 - Cabanas
1 - El Centro

Downtown Disney buses, as well as Park Exit buses go:
1 - El Centro
2 - Casitas
3 - Ranchos
4 - Cabanas

CSR buses go in this order so that guests can hop on board a theme park bus and take it to the main building. Then you can hop on a DtD bus to get back to your room.
