We have never had a problem with walking either, and enjoyed staying at Ranchos 7B. It had a quiet pool, very short walk to main pool, bus stop right out front, and in a quieter area away from many conventioners (which we never had a problem with anyway). Also if you go up to the third floor after leaving the bus stop, when illuminations is going on at Epcot, you can catch a small glimpse of the fireworks over the trees, my kids had a kick out of seeing some fireworks from the hotel:) . Have a great trip!!!

With all the walking you have to do at Disney, I don't understand why people get upset about walking at a resort. :confused3 I mean, walking around Disney at all is taxing...

I can tell you that we stayed at Ranchos 6B in 2005 and it took me 18 minutes round trip for DW coffee every morning.

I look at it this way...any building in CSR is closer than my house in PA!

Now that was good! I couldn't agree more. I don't know what all the moaning and complaining is all about. I know I could care less about what building my room is located, what room number, etc. As long as the room is clean, everything is in working order, etc., I'm happy. I'm at Disney World for the theme parks...I spend little time at the hotel except to sleep and go to the pool.

We stayed in Casitas 3d last year (in front of lion fountain) and didn't mind the walks as the resort is very beautiful. It took us about 3 mins to get to El Centro and a little further to the main pool but we would refill our mugs before heading to the main pool. We tended to use bus stop 1 at El Centro more due to mug refills or eating at Pepper Market though bus stop 2 was closer to our room. The walking didn't bother us as we decided to stay at CSR again this year.

gotta agree here- it would be even worse for me as I am from western new york- farther than you perhaps!!

Walking around the resorts is a big part of the experience of staying at a Disney resort.

After a horrible Riverside experience, Wade at the CSR concierge desk transferred my reservation from POR to Coronado along with my dining credits.

We spend 3 fabulous days at Coronado and loved it! As luck would have it, we got a Cabanas 8a room steps away from the big pool.

A large convention was there (NY Life Insurance) while we were staying therem but I never felt unwelcome or anything. If anything there were more internal golf carts!

Bus service was phenomenal. Many times there were less than 10 people waiting for a bus and some times there were 10 people or less on the entire bus after the Coronado circuit.

The H20 aquatics soaps are very nice, nicer than what is at the other moderates (riverside). It included shower gel, shampoo and conditioner (separate bottles) as well as white soap with a understated Mickey head imprint.

Coronado also had thick Wamsutta towels whereas the Riverside towels were very standard.

I was also talking to one of the managers at Pepper Market. She was doing some cashier duty and I asked her about the construction behind Pepper Market.

She stated that Pepper Market is expanding and becoming in her words "more upscale". There were artist depictions on the construction walls, but my digital camera batteries died--so I didn't get an artist rendition pic. She also stated that they were expanding the bar area as well but Maya grill will be the same. I did specifically ask if Pepper Market was still going to be a counter service and she said yes. The artist renditions looked like a more table service oriented with a swirl type design on a booth. With these pictures, it does look like they are going to get rid of the "market" concept of Pepper Market.

As far as Pepper Market was concerned, service was still very good even at capacity. On the dining plan, desserts were still limited to everything but the refrigerated items but the quantity was still large. I had a chicken ceaser salad that was enormous.

I have a question for your CSR experts:

I am planning next year's trip already and there will be 5 of us enjoying our disney vacation- I am taking my mom for her first time. I would like to stay at CSR once again. I was looking at the junior suite prices but found that reserving 2 rooms would be cheaper. I would like to know if they have connecting or adjoining (not sure of what they are- the kind with the door inside that connects the 2 rooms) at this resort??

I was doing some math. It would be only about 285 dollars cheaper to stay in 2 rooms that book a junior suite. I think I can splurge for that money plus like the idea of having my mom in the same place as I. So what buildings are the suites located in- I thought I read somewhere they are in the Casistas section, that would be just great.

Lustergirl-If I were you I'd go for the adjoining rooms. The Jr suites aren't all that impressive. You get two rooms, but the living room has a small desk, tv two rattan chairs, and a bath. I think the thing on the wall is a murphy bed, but it has to stay up to have room for the chairs. These rooms give you two full baths, two sinks, but one frig, two tv's, two desks-all totaled.

Please note: These rooms aren't remotely on par with an Embassy suites, or Homewood suites as a couple of examples.

They are a nice perk for conventioneers, but that's about all.

With the adjoining rooms you'd have two REAL beds, (or more, of course, depending on whether you opted for Kings or doubles) two tv's , two small frig, two sinks, two full baths.

Lily:

Thanks for the reply. When I make my reservation can both rooms be in my name or does the other room have to be in someone else's name?? I don't think I can my ressie on the disney website either correct?? I am thinking I would have to call to make my reservation correct??

But adjoining is not guaranteed. That's the only downside.

All the suites are in the casita area except for two, one in cabana 8b and one in cabana 9b.

so Buzz- what do you suggest. I tried quoting the AS Music suites for next september but my dates or around that keep coming up unavailable as I imagine these suites go fast. The junior suites at CSR are still less expensive than any of the deluxes for a family of 5 though..

Buzz is better at the ressie details, I'll defer to him. The no guarantee thing...I'd at least ask what the chances are. The thing is, if the jr suite was really nice, spacious, newly decorated with a sofa, it would be great. It's not, and that's a chunk of change to spend on a sparse extra room.

If you do decide on the "sure thing", (and book the suite) then move one of the small end tables between the two chairs, it'll give you a place to put your coffee. If you move one of the chairs from the desk sort of in front of the rattan chairs, you and mom can put your feet up while watching tv....:goodvibes

(Keep in mind the view varies. We saw the courtyard, not the water.)

thanks lily- I am still in the deciding stage. My hubby and I are staying at CSR this upcoming trip so I am really excited to just check out this resort first hand.

If they can guarantee adjoining because of the ages of your kids, I would go with that because it gives you more options for room locations and it will save you a few bucks. But if they say they can not, you could end up with non-adjoining rooms, you and a few kids in one room and your DH and another kid in another. Not sure of the ages of your kids, that may help your case for the guarantee.

buzz- next year my sons will be 19 and 15, so I guess that really means no guarantee of adjoining rooms, they are no spring chickens anymore!! So I think I will go with the suite just to make sure we are together in one spot.

I have one more question, found a similar one in a thread for CBR. My mom will either driving (ha!!) a wheelchair or ECV, are the rooms handicap accessible???
