I may have missed this if someone else has already asked but does anyone know if any sections at CSR have been recently refurbished? Which section has the nicest interiors?

Any thoughts would be helpful.

Thanks,

Joy

I was wondering that my self Joyful! I asked the question a while back and never got a response.

If any one knows that would be great!

Does any one have any photos of the newly refurbished rooms that they could share? I'd like to see the difference.

Thanks

Oh my goodness I feel so horrible.

Hello all I'm back! Oh how I've missed my beloved CSR thread. I' going to slowly fish through and answer any and all unanswered questions I promise!

As for the refurbishment question, I don't believe any have been recently refurbished, but Epcotfan might be able to answer better.

As for the interiors I can't really say. I haven't stayed in all three sections. So I'd say of the one's I've stayed in, the room decor is very simmilar in both Cabanas & Casitas. I like the Casitas better for their exterior ambiance and the Cabanas for the interior

We just returned from an AWESOME stay at CSR!!!
It was me and 12 yo DD and 26 yo DD.
Stayed in Casistas 2! Loved the Casitas buildings!!! We stayed in Cabanas before and felt it looked too much like CBR. DD said she liked the beach by Cabanas, but the "look" of Casistas.

Overall our stay was awesome.....some good and bad highlights.........
Great cast members working the gift shop!!
Fast check in, very friendly cast members there too.
SLOW service at Pepper Market trying to check out! One register with about 20 guests!! AND..... when I asked another CM if they could open another register........OMG......HORRIBLE!!!
This happened every time we went to the PM!!! about 6 times!
Housekeeping did a good job! The place was very clean!!! I think we had one of the rooms that had already had the carpet replaced and newly painted!

Which brings up another point.........
They are doing some refurbishing! They we working on quite a few rooms in the Casistas buildings. Looks like they were replacing carpet and lots of painting going on! They had one whole floor roped off one day and a certain section the next!

Any questions.......just ask....I will reply tomorrow!
My laundry is screaming at me! LOL

Cindyfan-

Which Casitas were being worked on? I am heading down next weekend and think I will request that section ( I like newly refurbished rooms). I read that 4 and 5 were redone.

Thanks.

Joy

I have ressies June 5th - 8th. Let me get this straight....if I want to be close to El Centro and the Dig Site, I need to request the Cabanas. Is that correct? When should I request that? I have ressies for 2 waterview rooms. Will that be a problem? I orginally wanted to stay at CBR, so the Cabanas would be perfect for me.

CindyFan,

Thanks for the CSR report! :D

I had been thinking about requesting Casitas for our stay in June. After reading your report, I'm definitely requesting that section now.

Hey. We're leaving for Coronado Springs in 20 days!! It will be my first visit to the resort and I'm thrilled!
I called today to request a room in the Casistas section because I read it was the closest section to the bus stop. But which section is your favorite?
Thanks!

HI! Casitas is very pretty! When we arrived there, they had a room ready in Ranchos, but I declined and decided to wait. We got a room in Cabanas-very tropical. My favorite secion ended up being the Ranchos section!!!! Live and learn. I think from now on I will just let them surprise me! There are four bus stops around the resort.

joyful......they were working at Casistas 2. I'm not sure if any other buildings were already done.
The room we were in had the new carpet, curtains, shower curtains and paint. It was very nice!
Casistas 1, 2 and 3 are all very close to El Centro. It was great because you can walk from any of these buildings to El Centro under a walkway. It rained 2 days while we were there and we walked to the Pepper Market with out getting wet!!:D
There are 4 bus stops. The one at Casistas is closest to building 4, but just a very short walk from 2.

CSR is my FAVORITE of the moderates and Casistas is my favorite section.:D

Questions,questions and more questions..

If I book a standard room,will I get a parking lot view?

Can I request a specific view(courtyard) and avoid been assigned a parking lot view? If parking lot view is a sure thing with standard, then I'll just book waterview.

We will be 2 or 3 adults no children,we will like a quiet location close to main pool,Are the ranchos ok? Should I request a top floor? Are there elevators at ranchos? Which specific rancho would you recomend?

I'm also leaning towards the Casitas,Are there elevators?? Which one should I request?

I remember reading about this one, but, I can't find the answer now. Does CSR share busses with other resorts?

If you ever been to the main lounge(bar) How much are the drinks? Beers?

Sorry, for all the questions,I'm calling tommorow to make my ressies!

If I book a standard room, will I get a parking lot view? The casitas probably have the majority of the parking lot views but none of which are you sitting right on top of a parking lot.

Can I request a specific view (courtyard) and avoid been assigned a parking lot view? I don't think you can. If parking lot view is a sure thing with standard, then I'll just book waterview. cabanas and ranchos have less parking lot views but with any of them you are not sitting right on top of any parking lot.

We will be 2 or 3 adults no children. We will like a quiet location close to main pool. Are the ranchos ok? yes they are, try asking for 7b. Should I request a top floor? I have had no problem with either floor if its noise you are worried about. Are there elevators at ranchos? yes, all the sections and buildings have elevators Which specific rancho would you recommend? 7b for it proximity to the main pool area

I'm also leaning towards the Casitas, are there elevators?? yes, all the sections and buildings have elevators Which one should I request? to be close to the main pool, casitas 5

I remember reading about this one, but, I can't find the answer now. Does CSR share busses with other resorts? no they don't

If you ever been to the main lounge(bar) How much are the drinks? Beers? beer is cheaper than bottled water. you can see pictures at my website below of Francisco's

check out my CSR website below

I loved the Beer is cheaper than water answer!! I fount it quite Interesting:earseek: >It reminded me of a trip I took to Argentina where all I ordered with my meals (even breakfast) was wine, because, it was cheaper than juice, soda or bottled water, yes, that was a fun trip ;) LOL.

Thank you!!!

Thanks so much for this thread. I will be staying there during my upcoming trip for the first time. After getting rooms at the AKL and the BC because of the POFQ business, I was sort of ho hum about my time at CSR.

Now after seeing the pictures of the Cabana water view rooms, I'm really looking forward to my time there. It looks fabulous!

Just go back. We stayed in 9b Room 9650 and we had a great view of the lake! The only thing a little lacking we thought was the house keeping. It didn't seem that they didn't do a thourough job.

Hi I am going to be at CSR on June 10- 12 so I am doing one day in MK with my mom. Her dream! So here is my ? I want to be at MK at opening which is 9:00 a.m. so what time do I need to be at the busses? I would like to be at Mk by 8:30 so should I leave around 8:00 to ensure I arrive early? Is it true the busses take you right up to the gate? No monorail? Also I want to check in early but don't have to have a room until 3:00 the first day so can we swim at the Dig Site until our 3:00 check in? Where can we store our luggage until then? Thanks

Great FAQ thread & thanks to those who are so helpful in answering questions here. I am considering booking CSR for our July trip since it what we can afford with no other discount than the AAA I can book with now-no AP rates our (yet) for my dates.

We would like to be centrally located and it seems that the Cabanas 9A or 9B would be the best choice. Am I correct in checking my map that there is no bus stop for the Cabanas section? Would we just catch the bus at El Centro then?

If we decided to try for something else that is central to everything except for the Dig Site, then I am assuming Casitas 1 or 3 would be the best bet, right? Would we then catch the bus at El Centro or would we walk (what looks like a long hike) to the Casitas bus stop? Plus from what I have read, these rooms have been renovated or rehabbed recently and that might help out a family who is pretty allergic to dust and molds? My concern with the Casitas area is that I have it used for mostly the convention attendees and I am wondering how that works out for "regular" vacationers who are staying there. Since we will just be booking a standard room will the parking lot view disappoint us?

Sorry for some subjective questions here, just trying to get a good feel for things. TIA!

reddixie the bus from the hotel to MK doesn't take that long. If you do want to make sure you get early and you are going at a busy time I would probably get to the bus stop at 8:00, even though there are several buses that come. The bus does drop you off very close to the entrance of MK.

When we arrived at the hotel they stored our luggage in the front while we checked in. We thought we would have to wait until 3:00 but we got to our room at 11:00. I don't know if this is unusual. But if for some reason you can't get to your room when you arrive they will put your luggage on a cart and store it for you until your room is ready.

welovedis I know the maps make it seem that the bus stops are fairly far apart but when you actually get there they aren't that far away. We actually stayed in Casitas #3, we had the choice of bus stop #1 and #2. Bus stop #2 seemed further of walk for us. We always seemed to go to bus stop #1 so we could walk through El Centro.

I am sure someone else could explain more about how the bus stops are located. As for a parking lot view, they do have nice views of trees. I don't think you will be disappointed. They have a very nice landscaping. We had a water view and we hardly were in the room to enjoy it.

Well I hope you both have a great trip.

Hi Gang,
Ok here goes your chance to help with our honeymoon.
Arriving at CSR 6-8-2003 Leaving 6-136-2003 .

Where to request to stay. (Keep in mind we are honeymooning)
Need Smoking
Would like King Bed

Other than that no other specials requests

So what building and what floor to Hope for or request.

Thanks
Shawn :jester:

redixie - If you are at the bus stop by 8:00 - 8:15am, that should leave you plenty of time...10 mins tops travel time. The buses drop you off about 100 yards from the gate. No monorail. The bellhops will store your luggage in the luggage room. They give you tickets and the room is secure.

welovedis - the cabana section has 2 bus stops. #1 and #4. #4 is located right behind 8a and #1 is located in front of 9b.

Yes casitas 1 and/or 3 are close to the main building. Use bus stop #1. The cabana rooms really don't face the parking lots. Ranchos 7b is good for that too. Casitas 1 or 3 are probably safe too because of the way they are situated on the grounds.

mulgar - ranchos 7b would work if they have kings in that building. secluded but not to far
