We are going for our first trip to CSR over Pres week. Can anyone tell me how long it will take to get to MK. My DH was told by a co-worker that CSR was waaaaaaaayyyy out and that the bus rides would be something to contend with.

Also, I didn't think to make a room request other than non-smoking (DH is asthmatic). Is it too late to do so? We have DDalmost 5 and DS 2 who would love the dig site...maybe Cabanna 8a?

TIA

Aimee

Coronado is centrally located to AK, MGM and Epcot. 5 min rides from the CSR gate. MK is a 9 min ride from the CSR gate. CSR does not share buses with other resorts and only has 4 internal stops making trips very quick. You will find CSR to have one of the best bus services at WDW.

It's never too late. If you booked yourself, call back and let them know what you want or contact your TA. The cabana section is nice!!

Subscribing to this thread- Buzz, what an amazing job you have done compiling all of this information! Thank you! :flower3:

We were originally thinking that we would go with a value, but since we are going to do the DDP for the first time, we thought a fridge might be nice to have for leftovers. So, rather than rent one, I am thinking we may just upgrade and try CSR- I am hoping to book a package next month for December 2007. Can't wait!

Pepper Market. Huge portions, great choices and tasty food. Lunch/Dinner Menu

Best Pool – Voted by Dis’ers
Best mod pool. It offers a great slide (123 ft long), an arcade, a sand volleyball court, and a playground at the main pool area.

But unlike POR Alligator Bayou section, they have elevators and are conveniently located everywhere. My favorite section is the Casitas. They are breathtaking at night. Although the Cabanas have a beautiful view of the Casitas at night.

Is the CSR, a smoke-free resort or are there smoke free buildings.? Just the smell of smoke gives me a terrible headache. I also have a son with asthma who doesn't do well either.

I don't think any of the resorts are smoke free...yet...but only one building is smoking optional at CSR, cabana 9a. The rest of the buildings are SUPPOSED to be smoke free. That depends on if other guests follow the rules.

Buzz I am hoping you can help me with this. As you know CSR is my favorite mod. My friends made an impromptu trip this weekend and stayed there. They said the place is starting to look a little worn around the edges. No problems with anything just looking a little old. I was trying to remember if it had undergone any refurb's since it was built and I don't think it has. If I'm right, isn't it about due? It opened in late 97 or early 98 didn't it?

Well, I'm in! I just booked last night with a discount code. We weren't sure that we could afford a moderate for our December trip, but then when the code came up, it actually made the price for a mod the same as our AAA price for a value! So, I went for it, and booked CSR! We can't wait!

Congratulations! I want a code, too!!!!!!

Yes, CSR had a soft opening late 97 and grand opening in 98. It was rehabbed in late 2004 and early 2005. When we were there in April of 2005, they were painting all the cabanas and they changed all the room decor to match in each section. The differences from section to section now are the border and the furniture color. But to answer your question, it was rehabbed recently.

Have a great trip!!

I'm soooo jealous of all of you with trips coming up. I want to go back to CSR but, unless something happens magically, it's not going to happen for another couple of months.

Would I have a better chance of getting my request of Cabana 9B if I booked a waterview room? Are all rooms in that building waterview? Right now I'm booked standard...it would cost an additional $210 to upgrade to waterview.
