Hey! Thanks Buzz for the quick reply! TruBlu, I hope you have an awesome trip!! Hope to see you there too! :yay:
No problem, have a great trip!

Is there a way to find out if a convention is planned during your stay? I read another post where the writer was hoping for a convention during his/her stay so the buses would be empty. :thumbsup2 What a great way of looking at it!?!

I have read alot on this thread comparing CSR to CBR. We personally do not like CBR at all. I am interested in trying CSR but, I am concerned that we won't like it because it is similar to CBR. Any thoughts from those who have been to both??? I would appreciate it!!

Gosh, I have been thinking the EXACT same thing! We went to CBR last September and didn't like it at all. Next spring we were supposed to go to the Poly, but it's just going to be too expensive so we're really considering CSR, but I'm jus not sure either.

CSR only has 4 bus stops and CBR has 7.

CSR surrounds a 15 acre lake and CBR surrounds a 45 acre lake.

The cabanas may be like CBR but the rest of the resort is nothing like CBR.

Check out my website for pics and info.

Buzz2001, I have been checking out your site and it's great! We have previously really enjoyed POR but that was back in the "Dixie Landings" day. Now we have two kids who will be 6 and 4 next year when we go so the ease of transportation at CSR would be a HUGE plus for us.

My husband and I checked out CSR in August of 2000 while on a WL visit and loved the look of the resort, but weren't so sure about the Pepper Market.

I couldn't remember the size of the lake at CSR either, so I'm glad to know it's so much smaller than CBRs. My memory of the CSR lake is that it was huge, but that memory is 8 years old and it was a VERY hot and humid August day.

Thanks again for the info. I will definitely be back at your site in the coming months.

The PM is a love it or hate it location. Some don't care for the 10% gratuity. You are seated, then bring your drinks, you get real plates, napkins and silverware. I don't mind it at all. It can be difficult with little ones if you are all ordering from different stations though.

If you're on the dining plan, you won't find a better CS spot than the Pepper Market. Huge portions, great choices and tasty food. Lunch/Dinner Menu

We just got back from a short trip staying at the Poly for my DS's 2nd B-day celebration. We such a nice time, I'm thinking of scheduling another trip over labor day (4 nights). The Poly just isn't in the budget for another trip so soon and I want to try a moderate with free dining. I emailed my TA today and she recommended POFQ, and suggested we avoid CSR with a small child because of its less central location and because its a convention resort. (In her defense I just asked her to check if any mods were still available and gave her absolutely no insight as to our preferences). Having spent the evening looking at all the mods, I think we will like CSR the best. Do the conventions really affect other guests that much? Do they completely take over everything?

If I have a rental car (and I will regardless of which resort we choose) I'm thinking location doesn't matter. We do spend a lot of time in our room, especially when DS naps. My 12 yr old niece LOVED the water mouse and beach/hammocks/pool at the Poly so these are important and they just look so much better at CSR than POFQ, am I wrong?

We will be checking in late on a Friday. I would REALLY like Cabanas but know there are no guarantees. I saw that Cabana 9A was smoking optional. Is that the only smoking area? I'm a smoker, I just don't smoke in my home or near the kids but smoking optional would be fine with me. Will requesting a smoking optional room greatly increase my chance of getting Cabana 9A or are there other smoking rooms?

In the map it looks like there is a parking area by each building, is this correct or is it just a road - I couldn't zoom and it was hard to tell?

Are there elevators for each building? CBR is out because no elevators on second floor and that doesn't work with a toddler needing a stroller.

Sorry to ask so many questions but I'm frsutrated and going nutters here. I had lots of time to decide and research when I chose our last resort, but this time I have to book really quick to take advantage of the free dining offer. Help, please!

We didn't find conventions a problem - kept the pool nice and empty! Only problem we had was once two "suits" cut line right in front of us to ask the receptionist a question. There was once a bit of a queue at the "hatch" by Pepper Market when I went to refill the mugs and pick up some pastries, b ut as my beverages were free and the "suits" had to pay I didn't really mind

We found the transport fine, as you don't have to share a bus with any other resort - we had a 4-yr-old and 11 year old and they both loved it. We found Pepper Market a bit annoying - having to keep queuing up in different places - but I guess that's the same at any food court, and at least you only queue to pay once. The Maya Grill was very nice - expensive for dinner, but I thought the breakfast was OK as you eat as much as you can fit in, and there was a good array of fresh fruit (DS4 once had 3 big glasses of milk and two apples for breakfast!)

You are also pretty close to Blizzard Beach and MGM

We were in Cabana 9B as requested, and there was some parking just behind the building - the "main" car park is really only for checkin in and those eating I think.

This is a bit off topic but I can't start a new thread???? Anyway, does anyone remember how much an Italian charm bracelet charm costs at the hotel shops????
