Okay, another question. Does CSR have balconies? I usually put my video camera on the balcony so it stays outdoor temp. that way it doesn't fog up or shut off because of dew issues. Last year this worked great, and now I'm concerned that I will have a excessive dew message on my camcorder. That happened to me in 2004. I wanted to video tape at Typhoon lagoon and the camcorder kept shutting off because of excessive dew!

No CSR does not have balconies. Noly the deluxes have balconies.

I emailed my TA today and she recommended POFQ, and suggested we avoid CSR with a small child because of its less central location and because its a convention resort. (In her defense I just asked her to check if any mods were still available and gave her absolutely no insight as to our preferences). Having spent the evening looking at all the mods, I think we will like CSR the best. Do the conventions really affect other guests that much? Do they completely take over everything? POFQ is a small resort but it lacks some much in other areas making it not worh the stay. No sit down dining, shared bussing, having to walk to POR for the marina. Yes, CSR is a convention resort but this helps instead of hurting you. The buses and pool will seem less crowded because the convention guests will be doing their meetings during the day.

If I have a rental car (and I will regardless of which resort we choose) I'm thinking location doesn't matter. We do spend a lot of time in our room, especially when DS naps. My 12 yr old niece LOVED the water mouse and beach/hammocks/pool at the Poly so these are important and they just look so much better at CSR than POFQ, am I wrong? CSR has a marina along with bikes rentals, fishing and 2 arcades. The main pool area also has a volleyball court. For adults, there is a salon, spa and gym available.

We will be checking in late on a Friday. I would REALLY like Cabanas but know there are no guarantees. I saw that Cabana 9A was smoking optional. Is that the only smoking area? I'm a smoker, I just don't smoke in my home or near the kids but smoking optional would be fine with me. Will requesting a smoking optional room greatly increase my chance of getting Cabana 9A or are there other smoking rooms? yes

In the map it looks like there is a parking area by each building, is this correct or is it just a road - I couldn't zoom and it was hard to tell? Yes, the parking lot is a giant ring around the resort.

Are there elevators for each building? CBR is out because no elevators on second floor and that doesn't work with a toddler needing a stroller. yes, every building has an elevator.

"For adults, there is a salon, spa and gym available."

I have a question. I called to ask for information on the spa services at CSR and the CM at CRO told me that they have a gym but no spa. They said that the only spas are located at GF and SSR. Was this CM mistaken? She did not mention the salon either. I did try finding spa services on the Disney website but found nothing so I assumed she was accurate. If you have a link to additional information or if anyone has used this service I would love to hear about it. I was thinking of giving my DH a massage as a 10th anniversary gift but the thought of going to another hotel is just too much work to make it relaxing.

Thanks so much Mario for this info and for responding to my PM. I'm definitely going with CSR if I can get a room there. In some ways it has even more to offer than the Poly (hot tub, nicer kids playground area, and better food court) but for less than half the price. Seems like the perfect mod for us! Can't wait!

Dh & I are booked for an anniversary, adults only trip to CSR from 9/2-9/6 with free dining. :cheer2: I have read on other threads how they have not updated the snack options at PM or at their convienence store/gift shop. Does anyone know if that is true?
Just wondering what we could get for our desert options and snack options for counter services since we are not big cake, brownie fans. Last year on the dining plan it stated we could get a piece of fruit but at places like cosmic rays in MK there wasn't that option. It was cake or nothing. We ended up wasting lots of cake!!!!!!! We would love other options such as mixed fruit cup, english muffin or croussaint that could be used for breakfast ect. It seems on other threads that other resorts allow things such as bag of chips, loaf of bread, or anything under $4. Has anybody had any experience with that since they opened up the dining plan a bit?
:confused3

Does the CSR have the Mickey Mouse wake-up call available? We will be there in July on a convention and I was wondering if my children would be able to get that call?

They used to but we haven't used it during the last few trips.

AWESOME thread BUZZ! I have only gotten through a few pages so far, and I read through PART I (still have it saved for future in depth reading/resource).
I just upgraded to a King room (since it is just me and DH a double bed doesn't cut it the way he sleeps). I am thinking once there I will see if there are any upgrades available, location requests at that time etc. I am keeping all your info as my ammo come decision time if need be, but by the looks of this resort I think I may be happy ANYWHERE on this property!

Thanks to a fellow DIS'er, dcg0317 (Don), there are some new awesome pics on my website. Don allowed me to post some of his great pics on my website to share with others. You may have seen some of his pics around on different DIS threads but I feel they are some of the best pictures I've seen. So I just want to thank Don for sharing them with me and all fellow CSR lovers. His pictures are followed by (DCG). More will be added as the week goes on.

I haven't used it in a while but they used to have it. Can anyone confirm it is still available?

Buzz2001, I just wanted to thank you for your great CSR website. I just upgraded my trip from ASMo to CSR and now I'm more excited than ever for this trip. I especially appreciate all the pictures you've posted, it answers any and all of my questions from the big ones to the small ones. for instance, I was wondering how big the wall safe was and thankfully you had a picture of it right there on your site, now I know.

The funny thing is, I didn't find your site until AFTER I had upgraded. From all the other stuff I read and pictures I saw, I found CSR would probably be the best place for me. The thing that finally sold me on it was the health club, since it is the only moderate to have one. I can't imagine going 10 days without hitting a treadmill, even if I am on vacation. I also happen to love Mexican food and I plan on visiting that Mexican stand in Pepper Market more than once.

I can't. We had a wake up call on Saturday but I just picked up the phone and hung it up without listening to anything.

By the way Buzz. Wanted to thank you for your site and the info on Cabanas 9B. We were on the 2nd floor, right at the end closest to the bridges leading to the Dig Stie, El Centro and bus stop 1. Just down right down the steps and everything was within 1 minute to walk to :goodvibes

Getting married at disney and staying as the CSR. I want to request a room which is close to where the limo will pick me up from- so that i dont have to walk for miles in my dress!! Any ideas by the way this thread has been so useful and the web site really makes me think we made the right choice cant wait.
