The new cast of Dancing With The Stars

William just doesn't do it for me. I suppose he is attractive enough, but I do not find him to be the heartthrob that the audience makes him out to be. Maybe he is more attractive in person? I don't know. I do think that many of our pros are just as, if not more attractive. But, I could have overlooked the crowd losing their cool whenever William is shown if he had been a good dancer. The dance marathon where he stood around posing, opening his shirt, and sliding across the floor solidified my opinion of him. I don't like him. I don't think that he is nearly as good as Donald (whom he is always outscoring). And I am ready for him to go home.

Love Derek, but not a fan of Maria.

Used to love Mark. Then I didn't like Mark. Now I'm back to loving Mark. I also think that Katherine is a sweetheart.

Not a fan of Peta, but have absolutely fallen in love with Donald. If there is any justice on this show, he will win.

I agree, I don't find William attractive either. But I think he's a nice guy and seems to be improving each week. Remember in the trio dance, he didn't want to rip off his shirt again. I think he's pretty humble but I don't think he'll win.

I like Derek too, though it was interesting to see him lose his cool for once. I'd imagine it's hard for the pros to take a celebrity and teach them a new (sometimes more than one) dance each week. I like Maria, in spite of her chirpy dolphin laugh.

Ugh, Mark. I used to like him too. Then a couple of seasons ago his ego took over. But I agree, he seems less egotistical with Katherine this season. But please stop making those faces when you dance! It's distracting and he looks ridiculous. Katherine is adorable, I find her sweetness very charming.

I love Donald! I really, really would love to see him win! He's been amazing every week, despite the judges blinders they seem to be wearing. I love his attitude too, he doesn't come across arrogant either. His partner Peta is a bit much but she's obviously doing a great job with him. Wouldn't that be something if they won, isn't this her first season on the show?

She danced last year and was the 1st pro voted off. She danced with Ron Artest/Metta World Peace or whatever the crazy name he is going by now.

Oh right! I forgot that. She's obviously an incredible dancer but she seems a bit intense. And I'm sorry but she's a little too touchy feely for a married man. I keep expecting to see Donald's wife lunge across the stage and scratch her eyes out.;)

I don't think they were on. JKL is only a 1 hour show, right?

I taped it and they were not on. At the end of the show Tom said watch them on JKL so I wonder what happened? :confused3

I taped GMA, haven't watched it yet, maybe they'll explain why they weren't on JKL.

Maybe Melissa and Maks' egos wouldn't fit through the door?;) I would've liked to have seen Roshon though, he's a cutie and my kids love the show he's on, Shake it Up.

I just watched the segment on GMA. It was on the 2nd hour (around 8:15).

It appears none of the 4 had been to bed yet! :) It was a cute segment, but no mention of why they weren't on Kimmel last night.

I wonder if they'll be on tonight (possibly pre-taped)? :confused3

OK - I just have to inject a couple of wee bits of logic (egad) here.

First of all - these are PROFESSIONAL dancers. These are not "normal" people. These are obviously healthly, attractive, fit people; who, from the time they were quite young, have probably been told how wonderful they are. Equate it, if you will, to athletes in places like China and Japan and Russia, children who show an aptitude for something and from that point on, live, breathe and eat it. Almost always these children are surrounded by adults who dote on them, encourage them, push them - and if the children excell, they start to win. And every time they win, more praise is heaped upon them. Do you honestly think that you will take young adults who are the product of this kind of upbringing, combine it with the effects of being suddenly thrust into the media and flash of being on TV twice a week for years at a time, and end up with a kind, level-headed, ego-less person??? No. Way. Maybe you may see Mark and Derek and Maks as having big egos, etc, but I believe their life has formed them into what they are from the time they were small children. They aren't being buttheads for the plain sake of being buttheads. :rotfl:

Now combine that kind of person with the fact that they are probably perfectionists about their dancing - it is, after all their passion, their life's work - and add in a "star" (usually an out of shape or older person) who brings their own ego and attitude issues to the table, and has NO aptitude for dancing. Add to THAT the fact that they have to teach these people 1-2 dances every week and make them TV-ready. Now, to the Pros, they have been doing this for so long that to them it is second-nature. How could it not be frustrating??? I am sure they think "WHY does it take these useless humans SO LONG to grasp something that is SO EASY??"

Finally, let us remember that this is a Reality Show. It's all in the editing, folks. Yes, we do get to see the dances, live, and a screw-up is still a screw-up. But all the pre-taped "package moments" from rehearsal that we see before the dances are SO cut and edited for dramatic effect. One of the Stars even said that a couple of weeks ago. "That was just a few minutes from one bad day, it isn't always like that."

All that aside, William is still HOT.

I was very pleased with last night's results. I got to see the two leave that I wanted to leave, I still love Derek and Mark, it will be REALLY hard to see someone leave next week, and had I mentioned William is HOT? ;)

They might have had to take an earlier flight out to make it on GMA. We have a huge storm going down the whole eastern seaboard. So there might have been huge flight delays if they left after being on Jimmy. :confused3

They all looked pretty toasted on GMA, so they 4 of them were having a good time together overnite.

Who's the lesser of two evils in the final 3:

Mark or

Derek?

I would take Derek over Mark.

And it all comes down to Mark and his facial expressions. With DD dancing, I understand the whole over the top facial expressions, BUT that is for when you are on stage performing with an audiance that is sitting several feet away. You have to over do for it to reach the last row. On a show that is being shown on TV, even with a live audiance, you need to tone it down. You are selling more to the TV audiance then the live audiance.

On a positive note...loved seeing Dmitry last night.

And on a horrendous note...Bad enough Chris Brown was on. It was horrid that they set it up with the screaming, adoring crowd right up against the stage. Thank God for fast forward

My husband asked me if there was a theme for the night between some pros being nasty to their partners and Chris Brown performing.

I think that this is a very important fact to remember. I bet that there is not a single pro who has not lost his or her temper at some point during some season of this show. They are practicing eight to ten hours a day every single day. We get to see about a two minutes of rehearsal time. We will see exactly what the producers want us to see. Sometimes it is Maks losing his temper. Other times it is Tony being so sweet and patient. There are times we see Anna just laughing and having a fantastic time and there are times we see Karina being very serious and focused. Watching two minutes of this could easily give someone the wrong impression. All of Maks partners rave about him. Tony has lost his temper a time or two. Anna knows how to buckle down and be serious and Karina knows how to kick back and have a good time. It's all in the editing.

Oh, and for anyone who cares, Tristan, MAks, Val, Derek, Tony, and Dmitry are all insanely hot::yes::

I almost could have written this word for word! I don't mind Peta, though. I love watching Derek teach and choreograph. Tony is my favorite, but I like Derek, too. And, yep, Mark is not bugging me as much this season.

I love Tony, too. And words cannot express how much I miss Jonathan. I look forward to the Tuesday nights when he dances with Anna. With Peta, I just think that she doesn't have the experience (and there is no other way for her to get it so I'm just going to have to wait it out) that the other pros do. The first couple of weeks I got so irritated with the dances she was having Donald do because I felt she was dancing around him when he could actually hold his own. Luckily, Len told her that she needed to challenge Donald more and she has listened.
