I know exactly how you feel, I have multiple family members who love in Florida. They feel I should take a day away from Disney and travel to see them at their homes, um no I traveled to Florida to see Mickey, if you want to see me come to Disney!

Sometimes it's just easier to not announce to family and friends that you're going to be in the area. Lets you do what you need to do. :)

Exactly. Oh boy do I know what this is like. I have family all over Florida and I always deal with this. We always fly and take the Magical Express so obviously we don't have a car. And this year because of F&W we don't have any free days. So if they want to come see me, they will need to come to the parks!!

We only have 4 days left till we check in at CBR. But technically only 3 days before we leave for our disney vacation. This is a must needed vacation especially after this past week. Can't wait!:cool1:

5 days till check-in!!!!!!! These past two months have been a bear! People know that I have been planning this for sometime now and then they want to meet up with us, but there is no money in their wallet to meet us at Disney or they can't get off of work. I had plans with a friend that just moved down to Florida and even remade a 2 person ADR to a 3 person ADR however, she starts a new job the week we are there so now those plans are changing again.

Another friend is finally catching up on her financial situation and wants to do dinner and hang out on Sunday, but I'm sorry, I got an ADR for Sunday and MNSSHP tickets already.

Do people not know how hard it is to change a Disney vacation?

If my third friend wants to change our plans, I'm over with catching up with friends that moved down to Florida. Im worth at least $99+tax. They can pay to see Me inside the park. Perhaps I'll even give them my autograph!

Sorry, done ranting

5 days till check-in and the sound of those tropical steel Drums!!!!

This is our first family-free trip in basically forever! Usually we are visiting my parents (Florida) or his parents (California). We love seeing our family, but it's going to be nice having a whole vacation to ourselves that is longer than a weekend!

I say you make the rules! If they can't meet you when you are available then it's too bad it didn't work out. Their "baggage" isn't your issue. It wouldn't be dishonest to say that your schedule is tight because that is the name of the game for Disney vacations now of days!

Here's to a relaxing, fun-filled, stress-free vacation! I'll be there with ya, we're checking in on Saturday!

Checking in on Sunday, and so very excited!!! Especially for my niece and nephew who will be surprised just right before we leave!! Hoping for a wonderful, stress free, relaxing vaca and that the weather improves! Now I just need some pixie dust on some of our rese's

It's way too early for me to be thinking of This but I'm obsessed with all things disney right now. :)

Our flight lands around 11:30am. We have a dinner reservation at ohana at 5:20. How much time lapses between plane arrival, getting to the resort via express and then leaving resort to the Poly? What's the best way to go to Ohana? Bus to MK then monorail? What kind of travel time should I allow so we get there in time?

There's an understanding between my husband and I that our family vacation is for just the four of us. There's no making plans around anyone else and if family or friends would like to go to Disney at the same time as us we'll just meet up with them for meals or pool time, but nothing else. It's too hard to get everything done that we want to do without having extra people involved. Don't feel bad about sticking to your plans, after all it is your vacation!

I agree! We have had extended family members at WDW at the same time and we made no plans to visit with one another except for just one dinner together after which time they came back to the resort to hang out for a while.

Next trip, our daughter and her husband will be joining us for the last part of the trip. Possibly coming along are her in-laws, two brother in laws, a sister in law and her niece. This will be there first trip to WDW (extended family, not our daughter's) and while we will probably hang out together and have a couple of meals together, we are going into it with the thought in mind that it is not only "our" vacation but "their's" as well. Nobody wants to spend every waking moment together.

Hopefully someone can chime in about the time from the airport to the CBR. It's been many years since we used it but back then it took about an hour for our daughter to make it to the resort (she flew in after we had already arrived by car). I'd budget an hour to make it to the Polynesian to be safe. If you just missed a bus to the Magic Kingdom, you may have to wait 20 minutes or so for another to arrive. Factor in the time that it takes to get to the Magic Kingdom (I've timed it before and it was between 13 and 16 minutes). You'd have to unload at the Magic Kingdom and walk to either the boat or monorail to the Polynesian so factor in a little wait time there. I like to give myself an hour because I'd much rather have extra time to waste than having to rush rush rush.

I've read in numerous places to allow 90 minutes from the time your plane lands to the time you reach your resort via Magical Express.

Roll Call.....

HERE @ Caribbean too! We are in building 44 and our room has a Murphy bed & adjoining room door.

We are hoping for some pixie dust with the weather. The week's forecast is not looking good :(

We love 46. So far both Magic Kingdom days had some rain (Saturday and Monday). Gotta love my kids' spirit - second MK day they said, "Hope it rains so the lines will be shorter." And it did. And they were shorter. And we had a great time anyway - even wet behind the Minnie ears. But I can't say I wouldn't be happy to see the rain go away...

Just about 20 days til check in and getting so excited!! Thank you all for all the updates and info! I think I am going to call and add Jamaica to our reservation based on all the great recommendations. I am a little worried about all the recent rain, but hopefully it will hold out- fingers crossed!

I was looking at some old info about boat rentals, but then I went back to this thread's page 1 and saw they don't offer the boat rentals anymore?? How sad!! This would have been so nice on our non-park day! Do they still offer the bike rentals?

Thanks so much! :-)

Is there a way I can email my room requests?

FP+ are book and I have no complaints:thumbsup2

ADRs are done:cool1: Hoping for a pre-opening CP rather than 9:10, but I am still happy. Debating about BOG for lunch.

Now its onto online check in and room requests....

We have a preferred room with standard view, but I would like some perks...its just a matter of which one(s).

Proximity to the food court isn't much needed as we will just use the in room coffee and treat our mugs as souvenirs. Closeness to pool isn't a requirement either, however I am determined to spent a few hours at some point at the pool.

I'm leaning towards 2nd floor and close to transportation. However, I know its not an option but I cannot have adjoining in rooms! It freaks me out and I will not be able to sleep! So I really need to fax that in and my niece who is going with us has really bad asthma and a deep cleaned room would be really helpful. Having a deep cleaned room is not a requirement, but it would just be a nice preventative measure.

Any thoughts or suggestions???

Blah. Some frustrations. I did the online check in 50 days ago and requested either aruba or jamaica. So I called back today to add additional room requests. We currently have a king bed room. So I added possible second floor and also wanted to add beach/water view and was told no either garden or courtyard. We're also celebrating our first anniversary which added to the reservation as well :). 10 days until we're there. Anyone have a preference or experience with garden vs courtyard view? Or should I try faxing an additional request for the original waterview I wanted? I guess it's due to money. Oh well.

I'd say give 1.5-2 hours for Disneys magical express. I've had to wait in a decent line to board the bus at the airport before but you never know :).
