Hi, thanks to all who have been keeping us up to date on the work at CBR and the pictures.

I just want to share or do an Uncle brag.

My nephew (will be 6 in October) heard my sister and I talking about what we would do if the 5 person rooms became bookable by October. We have a pirate room for the 23rd to 28th, but I have also booked a condo offsite just in case my mom and other family can join us in Orlando. The little guy piped up "Unco, if Yaya (grandma) can come, I can be a big boy a not be a pirate." I have to admit that this hard nosed guy started tearing up. Since he has found out he was going to be in WDW and get to be a pirate has been in full Aaar Matey mode. What a kid!

Cheers!

Has anyone taken a toaster to make stuff like bagels and pop tarts for breakfast? Hubby and I will be driving so space is not an issue and since we're not bacon and eggs everyday people we thought we could make a quick bite and get out the door.

Don't know if it is "allowed" but we took one on our last trip. Pop Tarts or toast for breakfast is plenty for us!:thumbsup2 We save our meal credits for lunch or dinner.

Nice story! :littleangel:

We bought a toaster in walmart for $10 and left it there. It was so convenient for bagels and things in the morning. I'm not sure that you're really supposed to but we made sure it was unplugged each day before we left.

We are booked a standard room in late August, but when I checked in online, there was a box for Trinidad North preference which I checked because in years past this was always our favorite section. In years past, Trinidad North was not designated as preferred but I see that it is now. Are all of the rooms there preferred or will they charge us extra if we get our request on check-in? Also considering requesting the Jamaica section since reading about the refurbishment...I do realize that these are all just requests but don't want to be located too far from the pool and food court area.

Awwwwwww! What a thoughtful little guy! Sounds like he adores his Yaya! :lovestruc

If you ask Disney will tell you they are not allowed. They do have toasters in the food court for guests to use.

All of Trinidad North is preferred. You won't get charged extra just for requesting, it, it's just extremely unlikely that you request will be met.

All of Trinidad North is preferred. If you're lucky enough to get upgraded to Trinidad North you will not be charged for a preferred location.

Hi Dansdad

I didn't know if you're already aware of this but here is a link to a PDF version of the map. It much larger and can be zoomed in on much better than the picture that is posted in the first post.

http://www.wdwinfo.com/maps/CBMapFront.pdf

Edit: Also, just a little Google search tip for anyone looking for something like this. If you start your search with "filetype:pdf" and then your search terms it will only bring up those types of files. It will work for any file type like Word or Excel files also. So for example, my search to find this map was as follows. It was the first link returned for me. This has been my public service announcement for the day. :)

filetype:pdf disney caribbean beach resort map

Thanks! I have added the PDF version.

just booked 9/28- 10/3! first disney trip for our daughter (she'll be 21months)...4th for dh and i....we normally stay at sports but with the free dining this was a better deal and more things for dd to do during downtime....last time i stayed at cbr was 1997 with our high school marching band....so excited!!!!!

Welcome! I've added your dates.

Thanks Phoenix and dansdad for your responses. I've never done online check-in before so I wasn't sure how things were done.

I think the odds of getting a Trinidad North room are significantly higher now that they're converting the other rooms to queen beds. Trinidad North is all pirate rooms, and they have double beds and no Murphys. I say give it a try.

To answer a previous poster's question, the pirate beds are quite hard. If you like a soft mattress, it's not for you.

We did the pirate room last trip and have mixed reviews. We thought it was great fun but really don't want to stay in one again. If we refuse an 'upgrade' will they give us a hard time?

Pirate Rooms are in Trinidad South not Trinidad North.

We just booked 9 nights (December 17-26) at CBR! :santa::cool1::yay:

We have only stayed at values before, so we are extremely excited to bump up to CBR! We were at ASMo March 2012 and POP last Christmas. So three years in a row at the House of Mouse!

I booked yesterday and have sat and read every page here about everything CBR! Can't wait! Thanks for all of your valuable info, pictures and thoughts. I'm such a planner and can't wait to see it in person!

Welcome! I've added your dates. :santa:

My 19 year daughter and I will be staying at CBR December 11-17th. This is our first time staying at any resort other than POR and are very excited to see CBR.

Welcome! I've added you to the log. We're POR fans that absolutely fell in love with CBR after our first stay.

I am really excited about CBR being an option for a family of 5, we have never stayed at CBR before. I'm not clear though, which buildings will have the murphy beds and of the ones that do, which location would be the closest to the main building. Or will all buildings have some rooms with murphy beds?

Until it's completed we don't know for sure. But the rooms with Murphy beds are sprinkled throughout each building that have been completed.

Thanks! My dates are actually the 16th - 22nd. ( I guess I was trying to add a couple of days!)

I've fixed your dates!

Actually, the Pirate Room are in Trinidad South. Trinidad North is a preferred location that is part of the refurb.

No they will not.

The pirate rooms are in Trinidad South, but I do not think you'll need to worry about an upgrade anytime soon this year. CBR is either completely booked or at capacity for the rooms available well into December. It could be the Free Dining. Not sure. I would take an upgrade in a hot minute, but that's because we have two young boys who would love it, and we already booked the Preferred Water Room. They could also be working on other areas of refurbishment, it's hard to tell right now. I plan to ask a LOT of questions when I get there in September. :thumbsup2

How do you know it's completely booked? I have checked several dates and it's showing available. Some dates even still show FD available.
