So much useful information on this board - thank you all!! We are headed for our first Disney vacation November 1-8 at CBR. We were originally booked in a LM room at AoA but switched for free dining, and I'm thrilled! 109 days of waiting....(but who's counting, right?)

The new rooms look nice. The beds need a decorative pillow or a roll on them and then they will look finished. I think our next trip to Orlando will likely be spent at one of the Universal hotels but if we decide on WDW onsite, I will definitely consider CBR.

Yes, they will let you pick your top two preferences when checking in online, however, I strongly suggest you also submit a verbal request via phone about 7-10 days before you get there. There are no guarantees you will get your requests, though. And I would also kindly remind the CM who takes your photo id at check in (who needs to see your photo ID), if you were able to get your preferences.

Martinique (this is where the marshmallow roast is each night)

If I am understanding this correctly, can you request to be put in a "preferred" location? We are booked with a water view room, but I thought we would only be in the standard areas.

Staying 8/28 - 9/2. Is Jamaica considered preferred? How far of a walk to the dining hall and main pool?

First time at CBR - we have stayed at Wilderness Lodge a few years back and All Star Movies two years ago. Wish December would hurry up and get here already!!!

We will be at CBR August 15-18 for my birthday!!! Wooooo hooooo!! 1 month today!!! Of course were AP so we will be there before then for the day but 1 month till we stay the long weekend!!!

Best place for a birthday, if you ask me. But then again, I've celebrated 4 of my last 5 birthdays at CBR, and will do it again this year.

We will be there Aug 30- Sept 7. First time back to CBR since our Honeymoon in 1994 ( 20 years) have been doing 2 rooms at a value, and tried POR once. Excited to be back!! Actually rented a condo in WH VERY cheap for the week (because their pool is being refurb in Sept) AND booked CBR with free dining! We need the extra room of the condo with 3 kids (2 teen girls) but booking 4 of us Disney adults with free dining, the room tickets, dining, and free parking saved us several hundred dollars vs. Buying tix and paying OOP for dining. My 7 yo and I can share meals (except buffets where he would pay OOP) AND we get to enjoy the beautiful pools and beaches and amenities at CBR. We can go back to the room for breaks and naps. We always rent a car anyway so it worked out great ~ just back to tje condo to sleep at night so everyone has their own bed and room!!!

I've added your dates! No, Jamaica is not considered preferred. From Jamaica 45 it's about 3-4 minute walk. The furthest would be 41 and it's about 6-7 minutes.

Just changed my marathon weekend reservation "home" to CBR!!! Doing Goofy for the first time, I want as much familiarity as I can get!!

I was able to change our dates and we'll be at CBR two weeks earlier- our new dates are 9/3-9/13! I was so excited after I made the switch yesterday evening that I couldn't sleep at all last night- I also put in a room request for a Murphy bed, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that

Hi, some of you might have read my post about my nephew (5) who is willing to give up the Pirate room if his Yaya can come.

I might have to ask this as a separate thread, but y'all have been great so starting here.

Am I being devious (or breaking rules) if I don't bother trying to get one of the murphy bed rooms, but just set it up that my mom comes and stays with my sister, BIL and DN? Or should I keep checking to see if the refurbished rooms can be booked? The little guy deserves to be a pirate! I would either stay in an offsite condo or at *** (if there is availability). And if I do this do I need to change the reservation? (And to semi-complicate things, I used a pin that allowed me to get "free" dining a week earlier than the original promo.) Comments and advice please.

Pirate Rooms are in Trinidad South not Trinidad North.

My husband is running the Dopey and he can't wait for those morning runs around the lake at CBR!

We've decided to try our first-ever split stay. We're doing CBR for 8 nights, then over to POR. I'll be sad to leave CBR but 8 nights is longer than we've ever stayed all-together, so a change of environment should be good.

My main concern is that we won't have enough to do around the resort on non-park days, in January. If it's cold, swimming will be out. I signed up my son for the pirate's cruise, and we'll partake in the campfires and movie nights. We're not into biking or boating, so I'm not sure what else we'll get up to.

Okay I found am amazing airline deal and had to switch dates. We will be checking in 10-28/11-4 last change, I swear!

We will be checking in on 8/31 to 9/6 for our first time at this resort! We went to Disney for the first time as a family back in March and stayed at POFQ. Can you tell we are already addicted? We'll be celebrating my daughter's 3rd birthday and mine as well. I'll also be 30 weeks pregnant so hoping to get a refurbed room with a new mattress. Hi everyone!

Are there any non-pirate room in Trindad South? We are traveling with another party and they are not interested in the pirate room. We'd still like the rooms to be somewhat close though.
