This thread is great and we appreciate all of the insight we have received on CBR. When we stay in April next year it will be our 1st time at CBR. We have stayed at POP, YC and POR in the past and really loved our time at POR. We are looking forward to another moderate and already can see it will be a great time.

For anyone wondering about the 2015 rates, a CM told my DH the Magical Date is July 23!!! So we can't wait to finish the rest of our package.

We just transferred last week from POR (booked a year ago on a split stay to get seven days of free dining) to CBR for the whole ten days of free dining starting August 17.

Looking forward to trying somewhere new but honestly, I have a little trepidation because I haven't spent the last ten months obsessing over the resort!

On a friends recommendation I have requested Jamaica. I guess we'll see!

Welcome! Take some time and look around.

You have made an excellent choice! We were huge POR fans but after our first CBR stay, due to Free Dining, we can't bring ourselves to go back.

CBR is my family's favorite resort - we can't wait to go back - reading this thread has made me "homesick" - thanks everyone for pulling all the information together and sharing - reading this has prompted me to pull out old photos and looked at our many photos in the CBR - dating way back to the early 90s.

Have a good night all.

Oooh. Thanks for the info on the package rates! I was actually thinking the 18th so I'm glad you mentioned it. Otherwise I would have been pretty disappointed on the 18th when I was expecting it Lol! I can't wait to play around with numbers so I can play around with dates. And most importantly make a final decision so i can be "official"on this thread! I want to be a Beach Bum!

I'm waiting for the rates so I can become official too! I was told by a CM today it was the 14th. So i'd start looking around then cause that date has been thrown around alot! I was really hoping it was today

Hmmm. So it sounds like it could be any time this month really. Guess ill just have to keep stalking. Here's hoping families of 5 will be able to book CBR when they release those packages too!

The latest Allears newsletter also mentioned rooms for 5 at CBR. I would consider that pretty much confirmed. Now when can we book???

Hi! We leave two months from today :)
Can you please add our dates to the roll call? We will be there September 9-16th in a standard room.
Thanks!

We will be staying at the CBR September 16th - 24th. I am happy to read through this thread to see how many people love it. We were originally booker at POR, which we loved, but switched due to the free dining. Looking forward to staying at a new resort and hoping we have a great experience. Last year we stayed off property for the first time, so I at least know it will be better than that!

Welcome! I've added your dates. I'm glad you're excited about trying CBR. I have a feeling you'll be hooked like we were.:cool1:

What's the best room or section to be in closest to dining - pool - and bus to the parks? We're considering preferred to better our chances to get what we need. Also for anyone that's stayed here during free dining how crowded is the resort - can you swim without bumping into each other all the time? How are the dining halls? TIA for your help :)

You may want to read through at least the first few pages of this thread. There is a map posted that shows you how close each area is to the dining at Old Port Royal food court and the LARGE pool. Each area (Jamaica, etc.) also has it's own smaller pool. You didn't post when you are going so pool crowd level can greatly vary. Summer naturally is more crowded than say, September. Each area also has it's own bus stop. The food court area is pretty decent. It is all QS there or you can have a sit down meal at Shutters, the restaurant on property. Shutters is very good! I've been a few times during free dining. I didn't find the crowd level too terrible.

Thank you for that great info!! We're staying 8/31 - 9/7. Would still be interested in hearing from others that stayed during this time esp. during free dining how bad the crowds are re: waiting for buses to/from the park, food court and pool. Thanks =)

Since every village has its own bus stop you are never more that a 1 minute stroll to one. There are 5 non-preferred building locations that are about 3-5 minute walk to dining and the main pool; Aruba 51, Jamaica 45, Martinique 21, 22 and 23. We personally love Jamaica 45 and have happened to get that request every time.

All of our stays at CBR have been during Free Dining and the resort has been at capacity every time. One of the things we love about CBR is the fact that even when it's at capacity it never feels like it. We always feel like we're the only people in our building even though I know we're not. We love the fact that it is so laid back and relaxed which is such a nice change from the craziness of the parks. You definitely won't feel like you're bumping into people at all. We have felt that way at both POR and POFQ in the past. Which is why we have switched our resort love from those 2 resorts over to CBR. We can't seem to go back to either of them over CBR.

Ever since our first stay here we have added a couple days to our stays in order to have at least 2 full resort days and I can say that the pool never felt packed. Now it may be a little tougher to get a chair if you stroll up to the pool around Noon, but we are usually there by 10 and have always gotten a chair. And even when there are no chairs available, most of them are "taken" by the chair piggies that leave their towels over the chair in the AM and then head out to a park.

The food court is large enough and laid out nicely as to not have that crazy feeling I have noticed at other food courts when crowded. On park days, I am the breakfast runner and get all our food while my wife and son get ready so I am there around 7AM and the place is usually empty. On our resort days we all head over there by 8:30-9 and it's more crowded but only about 1/2 the tables are full. So I just don't know what it's like between 7 and 8:30.

We have had great experiences with the buses also, even early AM. We have always gotten a seat on the way to the parks. The only time we've had to stand was at park closing time. But that hasn't happened since we've started grabbing a seat and people watching after fireworks. Our last 3 trips we haven't stood on any bus.
