I just wanted to tell you congrats on making the top 10 list on the threads here! You were #4 or #5 for the month of June!! :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

Not surprised. There does seem to be a new resurgence of interest in our old friend, CBR! ;)

Should we expect the room rates to increase due to the room refurb? Historically how does refurb effect rates?

Historically they haven't had an impact. Rates go up every year no matter what. When POR, POFQ, CSR, WL and GF went through their last refurbs the rates went up in line with the previous years increases.

Just curious if there is a need to override the AC in the rooms at CBR? And if so, how? I realize this is subject to change after the refurb. I know some resorts (AoA, CSR come to mind) where the AC will shut off with a motion sensor if no one is in the room or during the night when no one is moving. Will CBR's thermostat leave the room where I set it at? We like it cool. Thanks!

Before refurb the thermostat will stay where you set it. After...:confused3 as you said.

When we were there in May/June of this year (not in a refurbed room), the thermostat was on the wall as opposed to how they used to be on the unit itself. We would set the temperature at whatever felt comfortable and it would stay set. It did not cut off when we were not in the room. Like you said, though, it may change once the refurb is done but I wouldn't think so.

Dansdad, I think that you may have missed the picture that I posted of the Gold Peak tea that's available in the food court. I know that I've had several people ask me if tea was available.

I meant to go back to see if you had a picture of the hair wrap station but forgot. Here's one in case you need it:

Banana Cabana pool bar:

Bus stop signage:

Benches/seating in the Jamaica bus stop:

I took a few pictures of the construction that was going on but I couldn't get many because of security walking around the area:

I know that I have more pictures and will post them when I come upon them on my memory cards.

I love the citrus white tea! It's all I drink when I get to the world. Sadly it's only available in bag in boxes and most restaurants don't carry it. That spot is always replaced with a raspberry Lipton wherever I go....

Even tried emailing 5 guys to let them know I want the white citrus at my local spot...no go :-(

When will gold peak get it through their heads that people want this deliciousness!!!!

Thank you both. I know with AoA being new construction, they definitely went the "green" route with the AC shutting off when no movement is present. I've read some other resorts have this as well, so I wasn't sure if they were converting during refurbs or what. I guess we'll see!

Thanks Lisa. Actually I tried to post the picture of the Gold Peak Tea but that made 26 pictures in that post and the max is 25. I will remove something else and post it because you're right, people do ask about Iced Tea. I will also be using some of your other pictures too.

I like to charge to my room while in the parks, but I would stop and pay what I have charged for the day with Disney Gift Cards that evening (kept me aware of what I was spending), question "Do I have to go to the Custom House to do this or can I do this at the Concierge Desk? Thanks!!!!

Or possibly break the one post into two posts and direct them to that particular post. That way nothing will need to be deleted. ##Edited: Ooops, there may not be room for the two posts. I forgot to look.

Thanks Dansdad! for adding us, the warm welcome and the assurance that this is going to be a GREAT stay for us!

subbing to keep updated.

:offtopic: is there a way to note or request rooms on the mde? i cannot find a place to do that (and calling from Germany is.... spendy fun).

Thanks for any advice/help. I thought I read people doing that.

You can do that at the Concierge Desk. The only time we go to the Custom House is to check in and to catch ME back to the airport. Everything else, Celebration Buttons, switch rooms, room/housekeeping issues, etc can all be handled at the Concierge Desk.:thumbsup2

You're welcome! Once you hit the 60 day mark you should see a notification in your MDE account that states you can now do online check in. During the online check in process you can make some room requests. They are predetermined and limited so I prefer to call and add them. However, I understand you're not wanting to when calling overseas.:crazy2:

I'm glad you asked this - I hope it's not like that. We stayed in a hotel in Boston like that and woke up in the middle of the night completely sweating! It was horrible! We were originally booked at AoA but moved with the free dining. So glad we moved to CBR!!

Btw - can't help but comment on your picture. Are you from Buffalo?? We are!!

Hi Everyone. If we could be added to the roll call, that would be great. We are excited to be coming to CBR on August 19-26. We switched from POR because of free dining, but are really excited to try a new resort. Can't wait to see the pool area.

My boyfriend and I will be staying there for our fourth stay Aug 13-19!
We've stayed at CBR every August since 2011 & love it!!
