Not a fan of the new look. It is too AKL and poly for me. We love the brighter colors and Nemo type theming :(

I agree. Iam gladad the chance to stay in the Nemo room my son loved it. My dislike for the rooms would not stop me from coming back however. We loved CBR and really spent very little time in our room except to collapse.

Dansdad I am in the process of writting a trip report and would love to provide the link to this thread for people considering CBR. I plan on posting pictures of CBR telling everyone our experience staying there. Would you mind if I did that? Also I would like to thank you personally for all the help you have been in my planning stages. Can I also mention you in my TR? Mickeystoontown can I also mention you? both of you have been a big help to me.

The pictures of the new rooms show the bedding being all white.

I am hoping they add one of the colorful runners that the other resorts have shortly. I love that blue color on the chair in the pic and that would really make the room pop!

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe the runners haven't come in yet. And I agree that blue would be great.

Please do post the link to your trip report. I know that I'd love to read your trip report. And, yes, you can mention me if you want to.

No Flaiming Please, I am probably in the minority but I thought the Nemo theme rooms looked very Cheesy 80's. I'm happy they are getting a new update more modern look, in the pictures from Spotify that were posted, there is an Orange curtain in the room and the shower curtain is orange tropical, the chair is ocean blue, they have cut the Nemo bedspreads into a narrow bed throw which is placed at the foot of the bed (that's enough of that thing) to make it colorful.

Thank you everyone for all their info. The pics of the reno is getting me REALLY excited. Everyone on this forum has been so wonderful...

Quick question, if I want to start a picture by request thread for when I am at Disney, should I start here? Also, when can I start posting pics?

I agree!! Some of that blue with some orange and other colors would really help make it a splash. It depends on if they kept the same curtain and shower curtain as the model.

We have 7:50 p.m. reservations at Wilderness Lodge - Whispering Canyon Cafe. Per your suggestions, our plan is to take the bus to Magic Kingdom then the boat to Wilderness Lodge - then vice versa on the way back. Does anyone know about how much time this will take (the one way trip)?

You shoud probably plan on heading to the bus stop about 6:30 or so. I'm not sure how frequently the boats run between ML & WL. But if you allow a wait of 10-15 minutes for the bus (with the understanding it could very well be less or even a little more), 20 minutes or so from when you board until you arrive at MK then another 20-25 minutes for the boat ride (including wait time). that will get you to WL approx 7:30pm with a little bit of a cusion in case something goes awry along the way.

I sent you a private message but not sure if I did it right or you received it? Sorry...new on here.

The changes won't stop me. But honestly I have to say, there is clearly a market for 'special theme' rooms and surprised if they are refurbing they don't take advantage and do some more. Do a really good nemo room. I would say Little Mermaid but they just did that at AOA. Not cheesy theme rooms, but nice ones- like the princess rooms at POR -we stayed in one of those and loved it. We loved pointing out all the neat things we found in there. Even more actual Caribbean theming in the room done in a nice and updated way. Im not overly concerned and it won't change my plans, but just would love to see more of the green/pink/blue/yellow :)

Thanks so much! :thumbsup2

Though we've always taken the buses to the parks when we were there, we've always driven to Disney so we drove our car to other resorts for dining reservations (though we usually just eat in the parks). This time we are flying down for the first time so we are very excited!!! But I am also a little nervous about not having a car "just in case". Also exciting because we are going to TRY to keep the fact that we are flying a secret. My daughters already know we're going to Disney (though we did manage to keep it a secret during our first trip until we made it to Kissimee!) Think it will be a lot of fun to drive "the wrong way" and tell them we found a faster route then show up at the airport. Think they will be excited, but I don't know if I can keep my mouth shut that long!!! September is a long way away (101 days and counting until we leave) but I am hoping I can keep that one tiny detail a secret! Until then, Caribbean Beach dreams!!!

Thanks to everyone who keeps up the posts on this board. Get more excited every day!!!!

Yes, you sure can link to this thread and mention me. That would be great!!

We will be here Sept 20-27th! So excited to see pictures of the refurb. I sure hope we get a "new" room...but so do all of you!

I am curious if anyone has experience with Gluten free dining at CBR? Were they accommodating?

Thanks!

Welcome! I've added your dates. I don't have any personal experience but our friends were at CBR last month and the wife has an issue with Gluten. She said that the chefs at the food court and Shutters were fantastic with taking care of her and her needs. :thumbsup2

I like the new rooms but since we booked a pirate room, it looks like we won't be staying in one. I did want to point out that DH and I went to Sandals in Jamaica last year and some of the elements of the refurbed room remind me very much of that resort. There are obvious differences, like in Jamaica (where it is about a million degrees all the time) we had tile instead of carpet but I see similarities in the style.

Was planning on BC/YC for Fed but looking here I might change my mind. Do you think everything will be done by Feb?
