I am so happy that queen beds are going into CBR. That was my only concern when we booked for free dining in December ..... How to sleep with two teenagers an two adults in the double beds. Hopefully we can score refurb room! I wonder if those bathroom divider doors are heavy and make loud noise when put together? I get up earlier than rest of family and liked the curtain option we had in other resorts as I didn't wake up rest of family as I got ready. Also wondering how the wifi is at this resort?
Thanks!

All the talk about the bus system has got me wondering... We are renting a double stroller and will be taking it to the parks...is it a big hassle to take those strollers on the buses? :confused3

Our 2010 trip we had a double stroller and a single stroller for our three DDs. Is it a hassle? Not as bad as I expected to be honestly!
We just made sure to have stroller folded in advance of the bus arrival as often as we could.

We had a double stroller in 2011 and 2013 and didn't find it too much of a hassle. Like Meldev we also tried to make sure it was folded just in time before the bus arrived. The only time it was inconvenient was after the fireworks when the bulk of people are going back to the resorts. The inconvenient part was making sure it was out of the way while trying to hold 2 sleepy daughters. When we go in 2015 we will only use a single for our youngest.

:offtopic: We are wanting to add 2 days to the end of our trip at CBR. As of now it is Dec. 19-28. We want Dec. 19-30. CBR is booked up with the special, therefore we can not extend. :( We got a pin in the mail today for free dining during this time at POFQ. They have space for all of our days but, we don't want to move from CBR. So I thought I would ask here if someone has to sadly cancel their trip that included the days Dec. 28 or 29th or both, could you please let me know so I can jump on it and try to book? So sorry if this is inappropriate! Thanks!

I have not heard anything. And I just checked the site that posts permits pulled by Disney and could not find anything for CBR except the room renovations.

Looks like a good amount of storage space. I'll be by myself though, so that's not even really a necessity. And I have that same spray sunscreen. :rotfl:

I'm faxing in my requests on Saturday, have had good luck with that (at other resorts) in the past. My first choice of rooms are the king bed waterview rooms in Jamaica 42, but my next batch is Trinidad North, so we'll see if I get a refurbed room or not! Only one more week!

Where do you fax your request to? I didn't know you could do that.

Fyi, the only resorts that still accept requests via fax are POR and POFQ. All others, including CBR, are now just tossing them without looking at them. You can call and have requests added to your reservation via the main reservation line, but faxing will not work.

Thank you so much for the photos of the food court items and prices - I know these things exist on menu boards, but I love to see them "live"....is it silly to plan what i want to eat 5 months out!!! LOL

Yes...I agree!! Folded before bus is key!! Those days are over for me though:cool1:

I'm so excited about my first stay at CBR. I'm really hoping that Martinique is completely refurbished by Christmas because I booked preferred and need a 3rd bed and would prefer Martinique since the bus picks up there before Trinidad from what I understand.

I have a few questions. I appreciate any answers any of you can provide.

I think I saw that the feature pool is open from 10am-10pm. Does this mean that the pool is roped off like at BC/YC or does it mean that the slide isn't turned on and there's no lifeguard like POFQ & POR? Is swimming allowed 24hr/day at the quiet pools?

There are no elevators in any buildings, correct? We'll have a wheelchair so I need to be sure about whether or not I have to put in a medical request for ground floor or not. At resorts with elevators I see it as just a request but if there's no elevator then I see it as a need.

Wheelchair rentals from offsite companies are dropped at Bell Services in the Custom House, correct? Same with grocery orders?

Thank you!

When did this go into place? I faxed to All Star Movies this past March and got exactly what I asked for.

Just chiming in here because I follow this thread closely and at the moment I'm feeling quite grateful and excited for our upcoming trip!

Thank you Dansdad for all of your valuable info and Mickeystoontown also!

Everyone sharing pictures I hope you know it's appreciated!

For our family, a double stroller is a must-have and I hate it. It causes the biggest headache for us. We load up the stroller with everyone's bags, drinks, coats, etc but it won't fold with anything in the basket. So, then you have to unload and hold everything. Plus, you are also having to hold the stroller and the kids that are supposed to be in the stroller. It almost makes the cost of a monorail hotel worth it.

I've seen different rumors about this in different areas. According to Venomhatch's fax thread, you can still make fax requests to CBR. I figure it won't hurt. I'm going to fax a request in about 3 days before our arrival.

Loved the shots of the breakfast menu! We're big breakfast eaters. Just a quick question: has anyone seen evidence of the elusive Key West omelet at the OPR food court? When we were last there (2010) it was offered on certain days, once or twice a week. It had avocado and turkey and Swiss cheese, possibly bacon too. We loved it but I haven't heard anyone else mention it. I hope it still makes an appearance from time to time. DH tried to recreate it at home with so-so results.

The latest report is that a castmember told a guest that it's taking between 2 and 3 months to complete an entire village. If they continue the route that they are currently taking, Barbados will be the next village refurb and Martinique would be next. If it takes just 2 months to complete a village, then it's very possible that some of the Martinique buildings will be done by Christmas. If it's leaning more towards 3 months, they may not be done.

You can swim in the quiet pools 24 hours a day. There are no lifeguards at the quiet pools at any time.

You are correct. There are no elevators. While my mother can climb stairs it can sometimes be a bit hard on her. When she travels with us, I ask that they make a notation that we need a downstairs room for medical reasons. Each time, the request has been granted.

Wheelchair rentals from offsite companies are dropped at Bell Services in the Custom House, correct? Same with grocery orders?

I am not sure about wheelchair rentals but I am sure that someone can chime in with the answer. I always order from Garden Grocer and the order is left with Bell Services. The items that need refrigeration will be put in a cooler until you are ready for them. If you want, you can pick up the items from Bell Services yourself or you can call them when you are in your room and they will deliver it to you.

Thank you!
