Does anyone know if there are "bus arrival time" screens at any of the bus stops?

We will be checking in on 8/31 to 9/6 for our first time at this resort! We went to Disney for the first time as a family back in March and stayed at POFQ. Can you tell we are already addicted? We'll be celebrating my daughter's 3rd birthday and mine as well. I'll also be 30 weeks pregnant so hoping to get a refurbed room with a new mattress. Hi everyone!

Hey! I would think that your chances of getting a refurbed room in March are pretty darn good. That's still quite some time away and I'm sure that many of the villages will be done by then.

Are there any non-pirate room in Trindad South? We are traveling with another party and they are not interested in the pirate room. We'd still like the rooms to be somewhat close though.

Thanks!

No. All rooms in Trinidad South are pirate rooms. You could request a room in Jamaica 41 or 42 which are a short walk from Trinidad South. If you pay for preferred, you could request one of the rooms in Trinidad North.

All of Trinidad South are pirate rooms. Trinidad North is not, but it is preferred category.

Love how informative this thread is!

I've stayed at a fair share of Disney Resorts but I've never been interested in staying at CBR. Honestly for a MOD I felt like I got a lot more at POR or CSR. I don't have any kids yet so the Pirate rooms weren't really enough of a draw to get me there and their standard rooms looked like they came out of a scene of a 90s movie!

I didn't come here to bash a resort so many love but with this much needed refurb I am actually really excited to come and stay here! This is just what this resort needed and I am loving all of the pics being released of the new rooms. I love that there are sliding doors rather than a curtain separating the bathroom much like the CSR rooms.

I'm getting really excited to check this resort off of my "Where I've stayed list."

Does anyone have any idea if these rooms are available to large amount of guests or just a few of the lucky ones. I'm thinking I should wait until the refurb is done to really enjoy my first stay at CBR. Also, what is your favorite part about this resort, what have I been missing out on?

Even though I am a big fan of the CBR (having stayed over 100 nights there), my husband and I both agreed that it was time for a refurb. Not that the rooms were run down or anything. They needed a bit of an update.

Right now, there are several buildings in Jamaica that are completely done and guests are being booked in those rooms. The crews will move from building to building until it's complete. The current permit goes through May, 2015.

As I said, we are fans of the resort so I make sure that I plan at least two "down/resort" days. Lazing around on the beach is one of my husband's favorite things to do. If you'd care to look around and get a few more tips on the CBR, feel free to visit my trip report which is underway. We spent two whole weeks at the CBR and loved every single minute of it. The link is in my signature. Feel free to join us!

Thank you for the information! I will definitely be subbing to your TR!

Yeah, eagerly awaiting the next chapter...hint, hint :hyper:

Working on it right now! I've been having a tug of war with Photobucket. Nobody's won yet but I have enough pictures for another update.

Thank you for the information! I will definitely be subbing to your TR!

You are welcome! I hope that you'll feel free to post on my report. Love making new friends.

Add us to the list! We will be there from Nov 14th to the 20th. First stay there for DH and DS... actually first WDW trip ever for DS! I'm a veteran myself, but this will be the first time as a mom :) Excited!!

You've been added. Welcome! You're going to have a blast.

Okay I found am amazing airline deal and had to switch dates. We will be checking in 10-28/11-4 :) last change, I swear!

I've adjusted your dates!

Hi, some of you might have read my post about my nephew (5) who is willing to give up the Pirate room if his Yaya can come.

I might have to ask this as a separate thread, but y'all have been great so starting here.

Am I being devious (or breaking rules) if I don't bother trying to get one of the murphy bed rooms, but just set it up that my mom comes and stays with my sister, BIL and DN? Or should I keep checking to see if the refurbished rooms can be booked? The little guy deserves to be a pirate! I would either stay in an offsite condo or at *** (if there is availability). And if I do this do I need to change the reservation? (And to semi-complicate things, I used a pin that allowed me to get "free" dining a week earlier than the original promo.) Comments and advice please.

TIA!

Cheers!

From the sounds of it, there are only 3 in the other room so adding her to that reservations should not be a problem and I can't see any rules it would be breaking. If you don't want to add her to the "package" and just need a place for her to stay then just wait till its to late to add dining/park tickets(I think that is 72 hours) and then call and add her to the room reservation.

Except there's an extra fee if you have more than two adults in a room so you are cheating Disney out of that money.

If a refurbished room with queen beds was the thing that mattered most to you..what exactly would you request? Should I only request a refurbished room or should I include a request for an area that may be done like Jamaica as well??

If you are going to put in your requests right away, I'd say call and ask for a room in Jamaica since most of that village is done. If you are going to wait a little closer to your check-in date, you may want to watch the reports and see what areas have been completed by that time. Having said that, I love the village of Jamaica and it's a short walk to Old Port Royale.

We check in on Oct. 3rd, so I've been trying to decide if I should call now or watch and wait. My old request was simply close to food court and upper floor, and of course now queen beds are what are most important to me!!! :)

Oops, sorry, I missed the BIL in the room too. The CBR reservation (and 6 day WP&M tickets + free dining) have 3 adults and 1 child (DS, BIL, me and DN5). I don't have a problem adding mom and paying for another 6 day ticket (even though she probably won't use more than two days) and pay for her meals OOP but if they give her free dining that would work too. I just want to let DN5 have his pirate room and I think my mom would just love being there with him too. Glad to have this first world problem lol. Boy being a generous uncle is harder than I thought. Oh well a little over 100 days to figure this out and maybe there wouldn't be 5 person rooms available for free dining anyway lol.

Cheers!

Hey! So funny, we were doing a full CBR trip then decided to split POR because of all your reviews.

When you sent O on the pirate's cruise was it at POR? Not sure which resort we should send H, or if they're different enough to send him to both.

Freshly back from our 7 day/6 night stay. The letdown of not going to a park today was hard, but not having to get up at 7:30 to get ready was nice.

My wife and I agree that next time we'll be leaving the extended family behind and booking a smaller party and a longer stay (7 days seems like a lot until you get to Disney and start factoring in travel time and downtime/exhaustion levels... We're thinking 10 days sounds perfect next time).

Love CBR but after a breakfast ADR at Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge I might be persuaded to split-stay for MK days.
