Just because! It's fun! I made some posters for ours and my moms rooms. The characters are our MDE icons! (not sure why the lines showed up on the poster, but they aren't there on the printed one :) :artist:

Cute! I love them!

Room reservations made. Park tickets purchased. ADRS done. :goodvibes Don't know what to do with myself now.

We checked in on Sunday and although I had done the online check in and called in a few days before, we were placed in Aruba. I nicely asked if there was availability in Jamaica. We had 2 rooms and had down connecting but they ended up with 2 rooms across a hallway on a corner in Jamaica 41!. Just as close as next door but I can see the other room out the window! It is so beautiful just as I imagined!!

I thought they were working on Aruba now... :confused3 Wouldn't the village be closed off when they're working on it?

They are not closing the entire village, just the buildings they are working on. They were clearly working on Aruba last week and clearly people were staying in Aruba at the same time.

Do you know what ship has the Donald Duck in the main Foryer?

Oh, ok. Got it.

please add me will be there 6th October - 20th October 2014 on count down now, very excited for our first trip to disney world

Welcome! You're dates have been added!

So here's my question: booking this close, what are the chances of getting a King bed or a refurb 2 Queen room? DH and I won't fit into a double bed comfortably (otherwise I would have booked a FW cabin weeks ago) . I'd likely be booking through Orbitz, since they have the best price, but only list view categories, not bed types. Room location isn't important since we'll have a rental car. My biggest concern comes from the fact that, looking at the actual Disney reservations page, the King bed category is sold out, so my best chance would be getting a refurb with 2Q.
Thoughts?

I think you're chances would be pretty good at getting a refurbished room, but there's no way to know. It all depends on how full the resort is and how many people know about the queen rooms and requested them.

So now I am confused but I know where to come! You guys! Here is what I was hoping for so tell me where to request!lol Or what to do to get it...

I originally requested a preferred room bc I thought they were better. Closer to everything. Honestly-we won't do pool much but will do parks a lot so I was hoping for quick route to buses. Perhaps food too. BUT I am hoping for the two queen beds if possible...So what should I do and is there anything that is a good compromise with all of that? We have never been to CBR. So I know I am in good hands with you all! Steer me in the right direction!:)

When we were there, we stayed in Jamaica and they were working in that same village.

Thank you-thank you, a thousand thanks! I knew YOU would have the answer!

You are welcome!

Are you paying for preferred? If you want to save some money, I'd suggest booking a standard room and requesting any building in Jamaica. We have stayed in all of the Jamaica buildings and liked each and every one of them. During our May, 2015 stay, we were in Jamaica 43 and it was a super easy walk to the bus stop and the walk to the food court was about 5 minutes.

I have lots of pictures of the CBR in my trip report including a detailed picture and word explanation of our room location, the walk to the bus stop and to the food court. The link is in my signature and the links to the individual posts are in post #2. Come on over and check it out. Tomorrow, I will be posting even more pictures of the resort.

What's all this about lime green Mickeys? I've read about this elsewhere on the Dis ...

It was started 4-5 years ago as a way for DIS members to identify other DIS members while at the parks or resort. Home Depot used to carry a line a Disney paint colors and the samples would come in the shape of a Mickey Head. Somehow it was decided that the Lime Green would be the color. People used to hang them on their backpacks or strollers and some would even put their DIS user name on them too.

Just a nifty way if IDing fellow DISers while at Disney(or anywhere ;) )
I've read some people that hang them on their door at their room or have a hang tag on their bags. Some people include their DIS names on their lime green Mickeys :)

What a coincidence. My user name IS Limes. Lol

Hello!!! I'm new to this and so excited about all the great info I am getting on this... Can you please add our dates Dec. 13-19. We are a group of 17. 9 adults and 8 children. This will be our first time staying in any Disney Resort. Quick question.... If you get a room with a Murphy bed will that take away your fridge???

Good Evening All!
We're booked in the "Pirate" section. Not my first choice, but all that was left for the dates & FD. I know I'll be the furthest out and none of the rooms will have any kind of upgrades (queen beds or new decor), but just how bad is it going to be? I haven't seen much posted about the rooms since all the talk is about the new stuff.

I'm hoping to get into any other room upon check in, but not holding my breath. Thanks!
