geffric, we've stayed at OKW twice & loved it! We stayed in 2BR villas that both times were about as far back as you can drive, but we liked it back there.

Don't feel bad llebrekniT, I've never been to Disneyland either. Hopefully when our youngest gets a bit older we'll make the trek out west. Hopefully on a stopover after vacationing in Hawaii..a girl can dream..

We went to a WOLVES game last night..very exciting.

llebrekniT - I think you may have stayed in the Southpoint area.. i checked a map and the only left past the main pool is at South Point. We also like the Old Turtle Pond Road area. If you have the right unit, you can see the fireworks at Epcot and MGM...

I am being the homework witch today.. #1DS didn't feel like doing any homework yesterday, so he has a ton to do today.., He really gets a lot of homework and projects. .. at least the kids are off school on THursday and Friday this week.for teacher conferences, so he has 4 days to work on this section 2 of his 60 page country report ( the 2nds 5 topics or 15 pages) and 5 book reports that are do before XMAS break. His Constitution project and paper, science experiment and paper, and who know what else will bubble up in the first 3 days of the week. he is not an independent worker , he needs lots of help and handholding

Geffric - that sounds like a lot of homework. What grade is he in? I have the same DS here. He's 11. Not an independent worker at all. No self-motivation. I have to push him, and push him, and push him. His grades are good, but it's like pulling teeth sometimes to get the work done. DD-6 is exact opposite. She gets a homework packet on Mon. with 5 assignments but you only have to chose to do 3. It's due on Friday, but if she has her way she will do it all the first night and she craves more.

It's quiet here today. Guess you can tell who the big "talkers" :happy1: are now. They're all in Disney heaven. . I hope they're having a great time, haven't seen the news in a couple days so I don't know if the fires have died down any.

Off to the in-laws for dinner. DMIL is a great cook and there is always yummy dessert. If it's a chocolate dessert I will bring home extras for my Tag Fairy! Maybe tonight will be the night we all get beautiful, witty new tags. I'm ready for one!

llebrekniT- DS #1 is in 7th grade.. those odd number grades are always a big jump with more to do than the previuos year.. Anyway, I am taking a short break from the constitution.. we finished the legislative branch essaies that are due tomorrow and now he needs do find seven articles from the past year that depict the seven activites the president does, and write a paragraph about each of the articles, then we go to the judical branch- write a biography of a current justice, and then find and summarize 3 current supreme court cases, and finally he needs to write an essay on the bill of rights and what it means to be a citizen..all due wednesday. not to mention the rest of the homework... so we need to get busy..

thanks for letting me vent with this homework thing.. it is overwhelming at times...oh well...

i am making pot pies, and beef stew, so we have some dinner for the week. smells good....

Hi all, I am at innoventions...it used to be carossel of progress. The keyboarddoesn't work very well, and I had to hack past the firewall to post, but the weather here is fantastic,not a traceof smoke. It is a little cool, but we are having a great time. Nephosaurus has been busy trying to pickup princesses when we get his picture taken with them, and heis sister is just being cute... We are a little disappointed with the Disneyland park, but really like DCA. We have ridden Soaring 5 times. Pirates is better here, Haunted Mansion Holiday is awsome (4 times) and won some Kim Possible Trading cards.

TinkBackwards, so sorry to hear about your DH, and welcome to our new friends...gotta go quick, I think they figured out that I am not plying "Learn to use Google Search" anymore.....

For me it was I dated this guy I met on AOL .....Then I married him . We have been together for 6 1/2 years and married for 5 . Strange part is I would do it all over again !

I'm so glad to hear from Ohana and very happy that the smoke is not an issue. I wish I was there! Then I wouldn't be sitting here with a mountain of bills to pay and getting ready to go get a weeks worth of groceries.

geffric - I HATE HOMEWORK and I especially HATE LONG-TERM HOMEWORK PROJECTS! There, I have vented as well. I hear 7th is a bad one. 4th was bad, 5th was not and so far 6th has been ok, but there has been more nightly homework. We'll survive.

Mad4Mickey - I have done 2 things out of character for me and I have already told my first one (the running away to CA with my boyfriend-who-is-now-my-hubby when I was 16). I have always been a goody-two-shoes, never in any trouble, straight-A-with-an-occassional-B-student. I had the same best friend since 3rd grade, she really wasn't a very nice girl, she had a BIG mouth and liked to gossip about people, etc. No one liked her much, but we had grown up together and I was just used to it I guess. Well, this was my sophomore year in HS and one day the straw broke the camels back because she started saying things about me that weren't true. I was the only person she had never done this too. So she came into the lunchroom at school running that mouth and sat down beside me and turned her back to me but kept running that mouth as loud as she could. So I tapped her on the shoulder and said "say it to my face if you are going to say it" and she stood up and I stood up and we became to cats in action just like that! Meooooooowwww!

I basically whooped her good, as we say here in KY. I was actually heralded for my actions by everyone, including most of the teachers. But, I had to suspended for fighting in school for 3 days! Even the principal agreed that she had it coming and she knew it wasn't my fault, but punishment had to be equal. Actually, my "friend" got 5 days suspension because she had just returned from a prior suspension that day and was under probation.

So, I may be a nice girl, but I do keep my claws sharp, just in case any of you were thinking about messing with me!

Hi folks,

I'm still around, just been incredibly busy with work. It's the busiest season of the year for non-profits and boy, does my schedule suffer for it. Last week we had our single largest fund raiser and the night after that, we had a mass food rescue. Since then, I'm been working on another fundraiser that is scheduled for tonight, a New Volunteer Orientation for tomorrow night, and yet another mass food rescue next week! Ack!

And at the same time, corporations and groups from churchs, schools, etc.... are trying to schedule group volunteer opportunties during the holidays.

God help me.

And I promise, I'm in the process of putting together notes for my trip report.

Mad4Mickey, aka Mishell, where are those pics you took at the MNSSHP? I want to see them!!!!! And do I understand correctly that you're going in a three months? Take me with you! Whenever I have any down time from work, I get swept over with post Disney blues.
