The new « rules » for cruises in 2021?

I also don't really understand the benefit. I know they think they will somehow control virus spread better this way. But it seems minimal. You are still going out and about.

I think in general cruise lines are trying to avoid people are going ashore & going to bars, etc. When the drinks start flowing, distancing dissolves.

We have done some Disney excursions and they have been fine, but usually we like to wander around port on our own. I think some ports can be isolated like Falmouth or maybe Costa Maya. We have December cruise booked that stops at Cozumel where we would just want to shop. So not sure if we will go if the changes seem restrictive.

6 months ago I might have sailed with restrictions. The longer I go without cruising the less I miss it. Ive never understood the term absence makes the heart grow fonder for me it’s always been the opposite.

I have no desire to wear a mask on a cruise or worry about social distancing. It’s possible after 25 cruises we’ll never cruise again.

Actually that's kind of where I'm at. I'm less and less interested in the Wish or any future ships. I do kick myself EVERY day because we had a cruise booked for Aug 2021 (Concierge). I just knew that some in our family would not be comfortable sailing then so we moved it to Feb 2022, losing a good chunk of my Dreams Unltd OBC. I wish I had kept the original booking since I believe it will be canceled - and gotten my money back! Now, I'm not even sure (like everyone else) what's going to happen by Feb 2022 but if there are a lot of restrictions, we'll probably move it again - and lose the rest of my OBC? Oh well. I'm more excited about our upcoming land vacations than cruises.

I could get interested in cruises again if the mask requirement goes away. I was flying a few weeks ago in bad turbulence and the mask just made the nausea worse. It took all my self-control not to rip it off. For people like myself that are prone to motion sickness, I don't think a mask is going to help the situation.

I'm focusing on land trips for 2021 and we'll see what happens in 2022. I may or may not put a deposit down on a European 2022 cruise. It really depends on the price.

That's a good point on motion sickness, plus I've found whatever I eat, I smell it when I'm masked. If masks are required the next time I sail I'll have to bring the big tube of toothpaste...

For me, it’s completely the opposite. It’s been over a year since I cruised and it still has the number 1 spot on my list of things I miss the most.

Put your masks in a bag with a couple of packs of spearmint gum and they'll smell minty.
