Great day planned! Sorry to hear about your parents having to stay home now There's no way they couldn't just go for a day or two?! I'm sure flights are pretty nuts by now.

As far as your room request, I would put in for one. I've heard not so great things about the pirate beds as well. I stayed in Trinidad South a few years ago (before the new rooms) and my dad did the walk to the food and it took about 10 mins. We had a car thankfully but I said I'd never stay there without a car! I guess at least you will have a car. Did you ask to see if CSR is open? Keep us posted!!!!!

We hadn't even booked flights yet. What added insult to injury is the fact that my mom's annual pass expired, so she would have to either renew or buy a length of stay. Plus food and such, it's just not in the cards.

I did call to see if they have CSR. Member services doesn't have anything available. I'm not super picky, but if they can't move us, I'll give it a shot. If that doesn't work, I'll complain.

You are definitely so fortunate to be able to share that every year with your special needs friends. It's so awesome that you do that!

We've always been very fortunate, having DVC and such. We're much more fortunate than many others, so I'm very grateful for everything. It's just a minor bump in the road. We weighed the options, and going back to Europe to visit France and Belgium to see our family was just more important to my parents. I completely agree with that logic. Just sad that they'll miss this.

Aw, I would have cried too if I had to miss WDW over New Year's (or, at any time, really). So sorry your parents have to sit this one out; hopefully they'll absolutely be happy with their decision to visit family overseas. I have a good friend in Germany that I'm dying to see; I keep trying to make it happen, but airfare is high and DBF would go too - and he doesn't know this friend, so he wants to stay in a hotel instead of with her, which would shove the price out of reach for us for awhile. Which is so sad, really, as I haven't seen her in about 5 years. Makes me glad for Facebook!

Yeah, I realize that I didn't mention that we were staying at the Poly over New Year's. Duh! She is a lucky girl having her first trip there. But now her idea of Disney will be solely of the Poly, and I'm afraid that I'll create a snob.

You can be corrupted by the ease of a monorail resort. That's the problem with them. I'm a huge fan of the BC. So convenient. I'll cross my fingers for you too.

I'm just going to be sending them a request for another room. I figure if I can't get another one, I'll work it out when I get there.

I feel bad that they can't go either. But we'll make the best of it. The Poly is my absolute favorite resort. I've only stayed there once before. We use our DVC points, but we don't do it often, because it's kind of similar to paying for the room. It's a WHOLE lot of DVC points. Like, a cruise for 2 and a two weeks at a DVC resort. It's definitely a special trip.

My mom is from Belgium, immigrated here when she was 15, so we'll be going to Belgium to stay with family for about a week. Staying there will give us an opportunity to go to the Netherlands and Germany as well for day trips.

After that we'll be heading to Paris for another week. I'm super excited! And we'll be making a pit stop at Disneyland Paris too.

Friday -

We'll be going to Animal Kingdom for some morning EMH. Our only goal here will be....

and....

After that, we're gonna hustle it over to Epcot.

So we'll make sure to hit.....

Just a sentimental favorite for me. Even though it kind of stinks now.

We will also be doing a lot of touring and more F&W tasting.

Saturday - Departure day (boo!)

We don't have a plan for this. I think Chris mentioned wanting to go back to DHS, but I'll leave it up to him. He does not get to go as often as I do, so I'll take my cue from him.

We are flying out of Tampa still, because the return flight will be a whole lot cheaper. We will probably stop at DTD before hitting the road. We have to leave I would say no later than 4:30pm.
