The Never Ending Pre-Trip Report Nov. 11 and New Year's '12!!! - TR LINK! 1/15 Pg33

I'm really glad to hear that.

Good luck - hope your mum is successful in getting you both those tickets. It sure will be a great experience! :goodvibes

Aaw thanks for being excited for me! Think it is finally sinking in that we are leaving - only 12 hours to go!!! :yay:

:yay::banana::woohoo::cool1::dance3::cheer2:

Sounds like a nice weekend. How sad your friend recently lost her dad. :guilty:

Funny you posted about going to the Northwestern game over the weekend. My dad went to Michigan and was just asking the other day if I was interested in going to the game against Northwestern this year. I've gone to a couple games there with him-I remember leaving one game with a splitting headache because of that dang wildcat growl they did after every single play. :rotfl:

Ha ha, you're right, they are crazy with the Wildcat growl. Every play they raise their paws and growl. Oh and the key jingling too. Weirdos. :lmao:

Hey everybody.

So I figured I would share with you the story of our Cirque du Soleil ticket adventure.

So my mom called DVC today to see if she can buy the tickets for Farrell and I. And exactly what I thought would happen happened. They told her that since she is the member, she has to be present in the party and that tickets cannot be purchased for other individuals.

Well that sucks. :(

So I figured that I would end up purchasing the tickets through my corporate site. The tickets would have been $80 versus $50, but still cheaper than the box office.

So I just took my lunch break and logged into my passholder website. And what's this? There is a new passholder offer for Cirque. For our dates. For $50. Word.....

I called them as fast as my fingers would take me. I talked to a very nice CM on the phone and she ended up securing me SWEET seats.

Category 2, section 206, row AA, seats 2 and 3. On Tuesday October 11th. Exactly what I wanted!

Those seats are awesome! We are only 9 rows from the front. Even when the CM secured the tickets, she couldn't help but say "those are really great seats"!

I'm so happy that I got it. This is Farrell's first Cirque show (I've been fortunate enough to see La Nouba before and I've also see 'O' in Las Vegas). She's going to love it!!!!!

24 more days people! 18 more working days. I can't handle this anymore.
:dance3:

I'm sorry for your friend, but it looks like a nice fundraiser in her dad's honour.
Sounds like a fun weekend!!
Fantastic about the La Nouba tickets!!! I've seen it twice and would easily consider seeing it again. I've also seen Alegria. Cirque sure puts on a great show!

You KNOW it's good when the CM is impressed! That sounds perfect - can't believe it worked out so well for you! I tried going to my work ticket site to see if they had any good discounts and they're actually MORE expensive for most of the tickets. I just had to pause and reflect on how that was possible for awhile. I can't believe how much you lucked out - I've never been, but heard you shouldn't miss it - your friend is going to love it (never heard of anyone NOT loving that show). You'll be getting out of that show around the time I'm arriving in FL!

18 working days, wow, so close when you put it like that!!! I have 20, not counting today - and one day in the mix (maybe two) I'll be working remotely since I have something SUPER-complicated to do and it has to be done well before quarter close so I need to be at home in the quiet, not here where everyone stops by every 3 minutes just to chat. So it is really ZOOMING by for us both! Ack!!

I've seen La Nouba twice now too, but it's been about seven years since I've seen it last.

'O' was amazing in Las Vegas. I was so impressed with it. In my opinion it's better than La Nouba. But Cirque really does know how to put on a great show. I went through this phase when I was younger that I wanted to watch all of them, so I got a bunch of them on video. ;)

What a bummer that your work site was more than getting it the traditional way. My work site really comes in handy for me for eveyrhting, from car rentals to the Disney tickets. Disney tickets especially are a pretty decent discount.

You should definitely try to see La Nouba if you ever get the opportunity. If you haven't seen any Cirque shows before, it's a great one to start with.

Nice that you get to work remotely. I don't have that option, unless it's an absolute emergency. Boo. But time will really go by fast. Next week, all I have is meetings day in day out. Ugh.

Yay for Cirque! I saw the discount as well and might have to jump on that at some point! I've seen it 3x now but love every second of it and I always have to get the popcorn bucket and drink :)

Yay glad you got your Cirque tickets! I would love to see it someday, but my DH is just so against it for now, and I don't want to push it!

I my have to think about getting a popcorn bucket and drink myself. :rotfl:

I'm sorry your DH is so against it. How come? Does he think it's going to be lame?

So I have yet another reason to love the DIS.

I've been following along with Dizneydaz PTR. She posted about how she was trying to get a better price for her car rental. Well, she got an amazing rate through Alamo using the Visa discount codes. She was kind enough to post the codes. So I though, hmmmm, let's give this a shot.

So I went on Alamo's website, plugged in the codes.

And I got a standard size car for all 8 days, for $146 WITH TAX!!!! Thats unbelievable!

I'm so excited!!! That's over $100 that I will be saving and more money for me to spend on Food and Wine!

Let's all do a dance!

:dance3:

In other news, the Yeti wants me to tell everyone that he is VERY excited about this upcoming trip. Why do you ask?

Because he wants to conquer his mountain.....

Cuuuute! Hahaha Yeti is adorable.
That's an awesome deal on the car rental! Almost makes me re-think not renting a car! Haha

I was so happy to get that deal. I was all ready to pay the $260, which was already a good deal IMO, but then that happened and I was thrilled with it.

Yeti is very naughty. His antics on my February trip brought lots of laughs. I already warned Farrell about him. :rotfl:

What a great deal! I have a friend that rented a compact car in Chicago this summer and paid $750! I nearly fell out! :rotfl:

I love that picture of the Yeti...what a cute little fellow. He isn't scary at all! :)

That's crazy!!!! I think my dad paid that once for a car, but it was a Lincoln Navigator. He just wanted to be cool I guess.

My Yeti isn't scary. :cutie: He's just naughty. :rolleyes1

Yay glad you got a good price for your car! :cool1: I got a midsize car from Alamo using the Costco codes and it came out to $131 for the week I think? That's pretty good for 10 days!

Aww, the Yeti is so cute...I really wish I had a trip mascot, but I don't have anything small enough to carry around with me! :confused3

I was excited to be saving that much money. More money for food and wine I say! You definitely got a good price too.

I like the Yeti, because not only is he small, but he has a key chain clip, so I don't have to be worried about losing him. That would be a tragedy. :lmao:

Three weeks from today I will be on a plane.

Three weeks from today I will get to Disney.

Three weeks from today I will again be sane.

Please let these three weeks fly by!

I have so been looking forward to this weekend. It's been such a stressful week at work, I was so happy that Friday was finally here. Plus, another week down and three more to go!!

Farrell is getting a new tattoo this weekend and she was expressing some concerns about going in pools with it. She's going to ask the tattoo artist more about it, because there have been conflicting reports. I think she'll be okay, but she's not sure. I'm not worried. She says if she has to, she'll wrap her arm in saran wrap! :lmao:

Looking forward to next weekend, because I'll be going on a Segway tour of Chicago. I'll make sure to take some pictures and post them for all to see. ;)

In other news, I had a 20% off coupon from the Disney Store, so I did it! I ordered some shirts. I ended up getting:

I got confirmation that they are on their way, so let's hope I get them in the next couple of days.

Since a lot of other people do questions during their PTR, I wanted to give it a try. So, here goes:

What's your first memory of Disney World?

Mine is going when I was four years old and seeing the castle for the first time. I could not stop shouting "the castle, the castle, the castle". My mom said that it was her best memory too, because it made her cry she was so happy. :cloud9:

It's awful to think my first Disney memory was only two weeks before I turned 14, but I think it's a tie between The Castle/Sanaa/Space Mountain, because they all were firsts over the first days (two days, one in parks, one not). I mean, nothing beats the first time seeing the Castle, even though it is amazing every time, that first time is so memorable. Sanaa was my first meal in Disney and has become my favorite Disney restaurant. Space Mountain was my first roller coaster EVER since my scarring childhood experience, so it was revolutionary and I think it's turned me into an adrenaline junky. So yeah, those are my first memories of Disney. (:

cute shirts!!! My mom and dad went to our new Disney store near Cincinnati and loved it! She said it was mainly kid based with very little for adults but if you have little ones, it's heaven!!

My first Disney memory was when we stayed at POFQ when I was 7. Every night when we got back, my mom would stay with my sleeping brother and my dad and I would go to the food court and get a cookie and milk. We'd take it outside and sit at a table by the pool. I know that has nothing to to do with the parks but it was at WDW lol. My mom said that we went too many times to have lasting memories at the parks at an early age lol. It could be true! We do have pics to show for all of the times lol.
