Don't worry KAR even with the rain Southern California is a great place to live.

Orange is very close to Anaheim, there is a lot of nice housing in that area.

The Register is the local county paper out here and is pretty good.

Keith, you have no idea how excited DH (Brett) and I am for his pending new position in CA. And rain, ahh, we certainly have had more than you can imagine this Spring here in the Northeast. Its the snow I will NOT miss!!!

My youngest DS landed a fabulous job for the summer....he will be a RANGER with the BSA Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, NM. He will be there May 28-Aug 31 and then travel to SO CA to spend time with us before he returns East and starts OTC w/Navy!!! He is pumped for both his summer and our trip to CA.

PEEJ, Loved the cake. My family and older DS' DF and her family all spent Mother's Day together. We went to a fabulous French restaurant in Providence, RI = "Pot Au Feu" ...not sure what that means but the food was heavenly.

Sure has been quiet around here of late!!!

The nice thing about Southern California is that you can drive an hour and play in the snow the turn around and an hour later you can be at the beach and warm up.

Well actually, DH did fly right into MO in March but the CA offer was a bit better than KCS Rail!!!! BUT DH did love JACK STACK!!!!!!

I'm off on a tour de cemeteries to put flowers on both of my grandma's graves and then I'm headed to my mom's house where I am in charge of brunch. This was rationalized because clearly my mom shouldn't be in charge of cooking on Mother's Day, my dad is of course useless when it comes to cooking, and it's my little sister's actual birthday (17th) today, so she didn't want to have to do any work, either. Both sides of the family are coming over, so I'm sure there's an aunt or two that will be willing to help me. I hope all the moms have a lovely, wonderful, perfect day!!!!!!!!

I tried many new cocktails:

the Welsh Dragon, Rose & Crown:

Ingredients
3/4 ounce peach schnapps
3/4 ounce melon liqueur
1/2 ounce green crème de menthe
to taste orange juice
to taste pineapple juice

Mix all ingredients together, blending well. Pour over ice.

Help! I can't find a copy of the WDW drinks menu!
Anyway, I enjoyed some cranapple concoction & a lime w/red pepper thingy, too!

Of course, tried & true...

2/3 bottle Blackberry Brandy
2/3 bottle White Rum (Castillo)
2/3 bottle Captain Morgan's spiced rum
128 ounces liquid strawberry daiquiri mix
128 oz orange juice
1/2 gallon water


Put it in a 5 gallon bucket and freeze.
