Men-folk are watching 'Enemy at the Gate'....great movie but a little too much bloodshed for me. :headache: Since you all could care less about entertaining me:rolleyes: , I think I'll go watch some fluffy chick-flick!!!

Rob
...hi. That's all I've got for you. Take it or leave it.

Today was a bittersweet day for me. I don't know if I mentioned this at the time, but the day of my grandmother's funeral, Cincinnati got a huge snow/ice storm. Many people couldn't make it to the funeral, and the roads were horrible. Since obviously most of my grandma's friends were older, a lot of them didn't even try to come. We never felt quite right about that, so I suggested we do a memorial service. My grandma loved spring more than anything because she was a huge gardener and loved her flowers. So, we decided to do the memorial service once we were sure it would be spring! We held it this afternoon. The people at Hospice actually helped us to coordinate it and provided the meeting space for it. Have I mentioned how AMAZING everyone at Hospice was? Many of her friends came out, and we took time to share our favorite memories about her, sing some songs, and just honor her life. I lit a candle at the beginning of the service and then it was also my job to extinguish it at the end. That was hard, but I am so glad that everyone who wanted to do so finally got to say goodbye. I also shared a reading from a book I've been working through. I'd like to share it with y'all if you don't mind, but as always, feel free to skim....

"In having to go where you least want to go, and in choosing to do what is most difficult to do, may you discover yourself becoming not only a different person, but a deeper person. Not just seasoned, but more real. Not just more knowledgeable, but more compassionate. Not just more hearty, but more whole. May your pilgrimage through your experience of loss lead you to both renewed life and replenished hope. May you come to rediscover what you've never really lost, your truest and best self. And may you arrive at the place where you first started, that place which is still the same and yet very different, and may you feel like you're coming home."

Awww PJ. That was just lovely!!! I not only did not 'skim' but read it through several times. Holds true for so many things. I'll bet the Memorial service for your Grandma was beautiful!

On a side note: Of course I know that Rob is a Perv!!!! :headache: I just hold out hope for hime some of the times...you know, give him the benefit of the doubt and all. Won't happen again!!!

Off to work! Talk to you all later! :grouphug:

Awwww, P&J. How nice you all did that in memory of your grandmother and for her friends.

DS12's team came in second in their 13-team tournament this past weekend. He pitched the semifinal game that got them into the championship game. They play six innings and he pitched five of them and did most excellent. Although he got into a lot of jams, he worked hard and was able to get out of them with zero or only one run scoring so I was especially proud of him for the competitive spirit that he showed.

Everyone have a fantastic Monday (well, as good as Mondays can be).

PJ:  That was lovely. I have to remember that.

Rob: Congrats to your DS!

I loved the play last night! The guy who played the Fonz had the voice and the mannerisms down pat. Richie, Ralph, Potsie, and Joanie looked exactly like they did on the show and "Mr. Cunningham" had the same voice (it was really uncanny). I didn't know Garry Marshall wrote the play...that explains a few things!

If you need me to write a letter on all official-ly looking watermarked stationary, let me know.
I think Rob can get pick up some sort of card for that, too!

Spent an hour outside tonight, taking down the shutters in the back of the house, lower level. Been back inside for about another hour now and I have yet to stop sneezing. Rotten allergies...
