It's still wet out. I have to wait until the ground is dry. We also can't mow the lawn.

So...my Saturday/mother's birthday went like this...went to Louise's in a downpour. She was already in the car, so we took off for the restaurant immediately. On the way to the highway, 2 ambulances went flying past, lights and sirens going. We got on the highway and almost immediately, came to a complete stop. While we sat there for almost an hour, another 3 ambulances went by on the shoulder. We had to call the restaurant and ask them to hold our dinner reservation (which they very kindly did - they'd heard about the accident on the highway). When we finally got through, the police were even directing cars to drive on the shoulder because there was debris all over the road. It was an SUV or a van; hard to tell because the roof had been sawed off and there were no doors left on it. Looked pretty bad.

Got to the restaurant and OMG, that was such good food! Quite expensive, but Louise insisted. We had live entertainment, too - his name was Ramon and he played the guitar and sang. He was excellent! We were there for at least 2 hours, then we took a drive around the UConn campus, then got back on the highway. They were still cleaning up the accident; the car was just being put on a wrecker and the DOT was there. Traffic was still backed up for miles. All I could find out this morning was that it was a rollover and more than one person went to the hospital with serious injuries. It's bugging me, though. I feel so bad for them.

Today we're just hanging out...I'm painting my toenails (Jean: Times Square Central Park Green...sorry, can't find a picture!)

HOWDY NUT CASES!!!
Did you miss me at all???? I was in Washington DC for 5 days with the fam!!! My DBro (Col in USARMY) graduated from the National War College....yikes all the pomp and circumstance was awesome. So much security at the college as so many dignitaries from all over the WORLD were there as well; all receiving advanced degrees. This is my DBro's third Masters with the Army. We are all so proud of him. He will now be a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon. He is excited as well as nervous with this awesome responsibility that lies ahead of him!!

LIZ, your mini BAWSTON trippie is just so

!!!!!!! And you went to DH's alma mater, HARVARD UNIVERSITY!!! It is a wonderful campus!!! Did you go into the Harvard Coop to buy the "polo"?? I love Cambridge and of course Boston so much and I am so going to miss it!!! I would love a link to your pictures, Liz!!!

Back from yet another thrilling night at Chef Mickey's. They fed us not once, but TWICE tonight!!!! AND on Sundays we're allowed to eat all the sundaes we want. It was a good night.

Liz...lovely pictures, yet again. Sounds like your mom had a nice birthday despite the traffic delay/accident. It's always so scary to see accidents like that. Yikes.

Yeah, but last night they totally took all my joy away when they gave us ribs and chicken fingers for dinner. Come on, people, at least throw some pizza or Mickey mac in there.
Anyway....
We did go down and see The Wave the other day. It is very pretty. I thought it was a little dark, though. The Steakhouse looks so sad...it's all boarded up. We also got to preview the menu. Being the picky eater that I am, I found it to be a bit unusual, but everyone else raved about it.
No slashing yet, but that can surely change.

Kind of a "blah" day here. I have a coworker (not Psycho Sue) that I've always been nice to, but I realize that she's really not all that nice to me. I complimented her blouse this morning; she gave me a weird look and said, "Um...ooo-kaaay, thanks...I think..."

And I dressed up really nice - no jeans - and my crush took a PTO day

Hi everyone and newest nut. I am currently waiting to get pictures from family members before I can post them - my stupid brand new camera that I received just before we left didn't work. I was slightly miffed as I purchased it specifically for the trip.
