The Myth that is LeCellier

Like many LeCellier devotees, I will have to say that yes, odd as it may seem to some, we like the food. Quite a lot, really.

But what keeps us coming back to this restaurant is the service. Maybe we've been consistently lucky, but we have always found the most efficient, friendly, accomodating, and kind servers in WDW at LeCellier.

Plus, after walking in the sauna that is EPCOT all day, I actually don't mind at all being in a dark cellar. :goodvibes

I wish I had your luck when I went there. We waited almost 45 minutes past our ADR to be seated. When we were seated we were taken to a seat right next to the restroom entrances, by the main aisle leading to them, and between the server silverware station and another station for servers where they rang up the bills. We asked if we could be moved (politely). The manager told us we could not and that we would have to sit there or we would have to go somewhere else that evening for dinner; These were her words not mine. After that the server was not overly friendly and acted like we insulted him by asking for a different table. For us, service was among one of the worst I've had in WDW.

Again, as I always state, this is my own personal opinion based on my own experiences and is not intended to be an insult to those who love this place and swear by it. I'm glad to help do my part and help keep an ADR open for Le'Cellier fans because it won't be anytime soon I'm going to try like mad at the crack of dawn to try and plan my entire vacation around this place. :)

I personally have mixed feelings about LC...

The first time I went there was in 2006, and I absolutely LOVED it! This was when the DDP allowed for the Appetizer, and the tip was still included. The meal we had was great! And the maple Creme Brulee, heavenly! :cloud9: It was not very crowded and that might have been because the DDP was still fairly new and not a lot of people knew about LC yet? Not sure.

Went again Nov. 2009, and I was NOT a happy camper! My steak was way overdone-- the waitress reccomended I get it medium, which was how I ordered it, and it was way well done... The waitress was also very rude! Not to mention that we were almost sitting on the laps of the party next to us. BUT my creme brulee was still AMAZING!!

Sounds like what most people are saying here, it was good, now it is so popular it isnt as great as it used to be...

My family still loves it... and we will most likely be returning here on our next trip. I might decide to book a seperate ADR for my DH and I...

I am glad so many people do not like it, that means I should have no trouble getting in during my Dec trip! We have always had a good meal there, always good service. We just came back and it was our best meal the whole week.We also do not go in thinking we are in a very high end steakhouse...we are at wdw!We have never had a bad meal there.:goodvibes

Well, this gives me hope! If so many have discovered "the Hype" is a sham, perhaps it'll be easier for those of us who enjoy LC, to actually get an ADR.:thumbsup2

I don't care about the chef's feelings. I can only eat steak that is cooked well done - or not at all.

I don't disagree with you , just stating that a chef will hate to make anything well-done. They feel that anyone can cook a piece a meat that is well-done as it takes away all the skill involved.

It was great. We went as a family of six. Now, as you know pleasing everyone in the family can be a challenge. One child is allergic to this. The other won't touch that! My husband and I are real foodies and we love to both cook and bake. Also, both my husband and I only eat our meat well done, but we had no problems. I was a little concerned after choosing LeCellier because of mixed reviews, but it was a success, unlike some of our other dining experiences at WDW. The service was wonderful. We were all pleased with our meals. We each picked very different meals, since we have a variety of tastes. We picked something that we liked. We were glad that they didn't mess up our picks. It was clean and calm. Dimmed lights and the ambience was nice. Some of the tables were a little close, but when we went the place was half empty. So, we had plenty of space. Amazing experience. What helped? Well, we had reservations and picked a time that was not your typical lunch or dinner time. It had to help too that our waitress was so nice.:goodvibes
