THE MURPHYS are LIVE from the YACHT CLUB ~ May 25-June 1

We like Nemo better than FoLK too! :thumbsup2 (Nemo is the only WDW show that we even do any more at any of the parks.)

Erika, have an AWESOME time on the cruise tonight!! :cool1: I presume the grandparents are coming along?

Also, how long did you spend at DQ? We are going on DS's bday and I haven't been in a few years (when he was too short for a few things). Will 3-4 hours in the afternoon be enough to feel like we got "most" of it done?

DQ took about 4 hours. :)

Ok, two of you prefer Nemo to FOTLK??? We LOVED FOTLK, but didn't take the time for Nemo......I think it's because of the travel channel show about Disney where the lady Talks to her Puppet??? You know the one? She kind of creeps me out. Ever since I saw that, I have had NO desire to see it.

But you have both changed my mind!!!

I think Nemo is the best show at wdw. It's the most "broadway authentic" in my opinion. The singing is phenomenal. :)

8 people got on the bus at YC to MK. Then about 100 got on at the BC. Add that to the list of good things about the YC. ;) Even though DH and the boys gave up their seats to kids anyway. Lol

SHHHH!!!! Don't tell anyone! :rotfl2: I want everyone to keep wanting to stay at the BC and away from the "Dark Side!" ;)

And thanks for the DQ info!

Erika,

Are you going to check out the new Ice Cream shop in France?? I can't eat dairy, but It still looks GREAT!!!

I didn't mention it to the grandparents. I assume they are just putting us on a boat with other people. Don't those cruises hold quite a few?? I didn't ask them.

Hi Erika,
Sounds like you're having a great time! Every time we have done the Illuminations cruise, it was a private pontoon boat with driver holding up to 8 people. I believe they are all that way, but someone please correct me if I am wrong! It is such a wonderful experience...you all will love it!

I have been following since the start of your live report... Thanks , it is getting me so excited for my trip which is 1 month from today at BC. SAB here we come :cool1::cool1:

I received an email from a disney food blog and they said it is now open. Maybe yesterday. I don't recall the date.

Must have been yesterday or today because I took pictures of the wall two days ago. We will check it out tonight!!! :)

We are on the bus headed back to the resort after a full night at dtd. The kids loved DQ! :) I'm so glad we took the time away from the parks to let them experience it. After it closed we topped off the night with Ghiardelli's :p Is there any better ending??? ;)

Marketplace stop #5 (YC, BC, BW, Swan, and Dolphin) now has a chained off cue line at the end of the row. This was new for us and we accidentally stood at the little booth not even realizing we were supposed to get in line. Luckily there weren't a ton of people waiting so we still got seats on the bus back. But definitely keep that in mind if you need to travel by bus from the marketplace.

We had some heavy rain when we first arrived tonight but it dried out quickly. This has been our only day with rain showers so I'm not complaining. Liquid sunshine, right??? Lol

We toured Splitsville and it is a lovely building, however there is no way I would pay $80 to bowl for one hour. When they told me the price I literally laughed out loud. ;) We can bowl at home for about $3 so I don't think we'll be bowling at dtd anytime soon. Lol

Tomorrow is MK and the arrival of the grandparents to surprise the boys. I think my mother-in-law is the only person I know who spends more time at wdw than I do. ;) They are staying at Art of Animation.

Tomorrow night is our illuminations cruise, we are very excited to experience that!!! :)

I didn't take many pictures today for fear of getting my camera wet. But tomorrow I'm sure I'll have lots!!

Thanks everyone for sharing this trip with our family :)

Was that your first time doing DQ??

My DS16 is obsessed w video games and don't usually allow them on vacation, but he has been begging us to bring him. We're going this year.

He'll be so happy!! :)

You got some quality men there! :thumbsup2

LOVE the trip report! Thank you!!!!

Erika,

wondering what the current bounceback is???

I returned from BC on 5/25/13 and the bounceback (which is now called Be Our Guest--kind of odd because that was a name utilized for length of stay pases shortly after B&B came out in the early 90s ;) ) was the usual 25% for value, 30% moderates and 35% for deluxe and villas.

There isn't the usual "clock" or other specific card in the rooms. There are now (or at least were at BC) folders on the desk that contain resort information, park hours, etc. No humongous folder at check-in. The bounceback or Be Our Guest schedule is contained in that folder.

We didn't utilize it because it only went out through year end. We are already booked for Fall, but were looking to return in May 2014 for the same week as this year. Sadly, no dates set for that far out. :sad2:

One more thing to Erika, be glad you got a room--we ran into a family from the UK while at BC, they were 48 hours without having an assigned room. The resort would put them in rooms that shouldn't have been rented (black mold in one) and promise a switch the next day. They would gather their belongings and traipse around the resort all day only to be told there was no room at the inn and the only option was the sub-par accommodations they had been in the night before. It happened to these poor folks for two full days.

They were promised the room we occupied for our check-out day (guess they gave them the room #)--unfortunately, they were a family of four with two older teens and we were in a queen with day bed and single pull out sleeper chair. Needless to say, that did not make him a happy camper after slogging around homeless for the prior 48 hours on very little sleep. Last I saw his family, they were headed back to speak to the manager for the fourth of fifth time that day! Like you, there were no options since the resorts were full. :scared:

Sorry to step in and answer, but I saw that Erika hadn't yet and didn't want you to be left hanging. Back to your scheduled live report which, BTW, I am enjoying since I just returned. :thumbsup2

We did the illuminations cruise back in 2010 and they were all private boats. Our boat could hold 9 people and we had only six. I would stop by the marina and ask because your boat could have enough room for the grandparents!

.

:sad2: How does this happen?? My husband would have exploded! Disney should pay for this "vacation" and next year too.

I am extremely critical of anyone's singing since that is what I went to school for. ;)

Oops! I quoted the wrong post! I meant to quote the one where your boys gave up their seats on the bus! Sorry!!!! :)
