THE MURPHYS are LIVE from the POLY (10/25-10/31)

Love the pics of your DS's in the Phineas and Ferb show.

I hate when you have to wait so long for a bus or when it is standing room only, I have on more than one occasion let other pass by me and I waited for the next bus rather than stand since at times my knee does not want to support me to ride standing up.

I am so envying you right now as I sit looking out my window at the snow we are getting it has been snowing since noon at the rate of 2 inches per hour they are predicting 12-18+ inches now originally they said 6-10 which was bad enough, very lucky at this point to still have power 300,000+ people don't

sorry about your bus issues today. Looks like you had fun at DHS, enjoy the rest of your trip. Great Christmas merchandise, thanks for all the pictures.

Last day :(

We are up early and headed to breakfast at Crystal Palace with Pooh and Friends. Hoping to eat fairly quickly so we can get into Fantasyland right at 9:00 for Peter Pan and Pooh ride. We should be able to get most everything we want to do this morning early then we are going to pop over to Epcot this afternoon to finish up the ifwf stuff we still wanted to eat. Then back to Poly for a rest before dinner tonight at Narcoosee's. Oh, and hopefully squeezing in DTD tonight after dinner. WE SHALL SEE!! That is going to be the craziest last day ever!!!!!

Thanks for sharing your trip and your pictures with us. :goodvibes It sounds like you and your family are having a wonderful time! :thumbsup2

I love the sweatshirt that you posted in the Christmas pics. Do you happen to know how much it is? We'll be in Disney in a few weeks and I will definitely be on the lookout for it. ::yes::

Have a wonderful day today! pixiedust:

Enjoyed catching up on your trip report this morning. Makes me even more anxious for my way too short trip in just a few weeks.

I love the sweatshirt pic you posted. That's on my short list of things to buy.

Dreaming of a "girls only" trip to plan sometime in the next year or two. I'm meeting a friend I met on another Dis website for a short weekend in December .. I think it would be so much fun to plan a week long trip with other Dis lovers .. no husbands .. no kids. I would feel so very guilty for going but what fun it would be.

Mk is pretty dead. Waits are almost all walk-ons. 10 minutes was about the longest I've seen.

I thought that it would be busier at the Magic Kingdom I wonder if the economy has something to do with it.pirate:

I am totally enjoying your live report. We will be at the Poly on Thursday!!! Can't wait, especially since we have around 4" of snow here in CT and have been without power since about 8 last night. Enjoy your last day, and thanks for the wonderful information and pictures. Aloha.

I've been everywhere, those sweatshirts are gone baby gone. :(

I've been enjoying following your family's trip! As for the sweatshirt...
you should ask the concierge staff if they can locate it for you in one of the stores...:goodvibes

That is a great idea !

Enjoy your last day - I always dislike going to bed for the last sleep-over !

Concierge did a resort wide check and no sweatshirt. :(

Well, we are checked out and waiting for the ME bus. :(
We had a wonderful vacation! I will type up a full and detailed report of the Poly and all our dining once we get home. Oh, those who were wondering about Capt Cooks, we were able to get a hot counter service meal at 6:30 this morning. Actually it was about 6:20 and they fired it up early for us.

Dinner at Narcoosees last night and the view of Hallowishes was amazing!!!! :)

Thanks for following us :goodvibes More pics and reports to come.

Aloha!!!!!!

Here's a tip, make sure your ME paper they hang from your room doorknob has the same number of bar codes as you have people. Ours only had two bar codes so we had to go back to bell services to get more. We thought maybe the kids were going home and dh and I were staying at the Poly another week. :lmao:

That would have been nice :goodvibes

I would have sacrificed my seat for the good of the family , heck I could just stay at the poly until they come back again.

Sitting at the airport now, flight is delayed ....

My thoughts on the Poly:

Our room was very clean. No signs of mold or staining in the bathroom, the shower and tub were like new, the floor tiles and wallpaper were in perfect condition. Room number was 3531. We had seven lamps in the main room and all were working. We had 14 outlets and all were working. We had no bugs or signs of critters of any type. Our carpet was clean, bedspreads were clean, tv worked great, watched the Patriots game in HD, ceiling fan worked, fridge was very cold, I honestly can't find one negative thing to say. If I get very nit picky I didn't care for the bright halogen type bulb over the bathroom sink so I used the full length mirror on the back of the bathroom door to do my makeup.

Hawaii building: loved the view from the lounge but the food offerings were probably the worst we've had in any CL. That is really too bad because they used to have the BEST! I think the food quality was extremely low, for example "bacon wrapped chicken" gross, everything was a Gordon's food service type of mass produced appetizer (spring rolls, potstickers, meatballs, etc) with some canned pineapple dumped over it... definitely not food you'd make an effort to come back for. Breakfast was even worse. Dried out muffins and stale bagels every morning. No variety. We ended up eating breakfast in the parks or at Capt Cooks. We had the dining plan so it was no problem for us. However if we would have been in a room only reservation I would have been extremely disappointed. :sad2:

The Poly itself was as good as it usually is. Love the lush garden walkways, the torches at night, the view from the beach, the kids love the volcano slide. Monorail transportation is awesome. Even our bus transportation was good except for a horrible day Saturday trying to get to the Studios. The boat to MK was great. Captain Cooks was good, loved the pork nachos and the dole whip.

All in all I love the Poly, I like to stay there about once every 2 or 3 years, with stays at other resorts in between. :thumbsup2 I can't say it's my hands down favorite, but it's in my top 3! :cloud9:

Questions?????

I'm glad you didn't have any issues with your room :). We love the Poly and having stayed CL at other resorts, I have been wanting to try Poly CL; however, after reading your review of the offerings, it's starting to sound not so appealing now :(. I had Poly CL booked for December, but we had to reschedule.....now I'm rethinking CL all together. We may just go with a GV at the Poly or do CL at a different resort . But typing that makes me sad because the Poly is our favorite resort and in the past I have read great reviews about their CL. Thanks for your input......it gives me something to think about.

On another note.....how did you like the luau? We did it once and thought it nice......the show was so-so (although I did love the fire dancers at the end) and we thought the food was good......but that was in 2007 so things could have changed since then.
