ROFR Thread July to Sept 2025 *PLEASE SEE FIRST POST FOR INSTRUCTIONS & FORMATTING TOOL*

I don’t want to ruffle any feathers because it really is so personal and I know I’m in the minority here. But I think we’re realizing we ultimately want to like BCV and BWV more than we actually do. I tend to be a massive fomo person unfortunately lol and get caught up in the hype for something even if it’s overhyped or overrated. There are still moments where I’m like hmm maybe I’m wrong about my feelings, grow up. But it’s been quite a few underwhelming stays now. Not bad per se! Just overall, meh.

The crescent lake area is one of my favorite parts of all of WDW but for some reason nearly every time we stay in one of those 2 resorts I find myself wishing I was staying somewhere else. I guess that because with DVC we spend so much more time in the resorts and in our rooms now, we’ve found we don’t really like the style of the older room configurations at all. They start feeling cramped after a day or two, and we try to keep things neat and organized as possible but it’s still cramped and inconvenient. I’m just realizing I don’t need to stay in rooms I don’t feel as comfortable in to enjoy the magic of that area, and we regularly spend some time there every trip no matter where we’re staying.

We have a long BCV stay at the end of next month for the W&D races and that’ll be a final test I think. All of our other trips have been fairly short 2-3 days so it’ll be nice (and telling) to be in the room and resort for more than a week.

So if we end up feeling underwhelmed again, it just makes the most financial sense, while 2042 prices are still high, to sell and get what we can to put towards the resorts we’d rather be at and take our chances at 7mos if we ever miss it. We’re not set on anything so we’ll just see🤷🏼‍♀️
Boardwalk View Grand Villa…. Plenty of space and great views! 😁

So true about different strokes, and the nice thing is there’s a special resort (or two) for everyone. Where are you thinking of buying?
Yep, tbf there very few I wouldn’t stay at…actually there is no resort I wouldn’t stay at (there is one that is my resort of last resorts though lol but that’s for a different thread). After owning for nearly 3yrs, staying at most of the resorts, and owning 5 home resorts currently, I think we’d be ok narrowing it down to 3 and staying more often at our tried and true favorites.

BCV is unsurprisingly the easiest choice right now to let go…unsure about what we would let go of next tbh, maybe VGF but that’s not at all in question right now.

Right now, the only resort we definitely want to add on to is RIV. And maybe CCV down the line. But hoping to catch RIV in their final push to sell out the resort with a nice fire sale, I’d even take a tinder sale lol

Alas, a GV would solve all the problems except maybe not having enough points for the amount of trips we like to take🥲…but yeah, aside from the rare joy of a GV stay, I just don’t care for the rooms at BWV and BCV. Can’t wait to see what 2.0 looks like though!
So… it’s not that you need to sell… it’s that you need MORE BW! 😁

Agreed...we are thinking the same way. More RIV is our target.

That most recent sales report about a large increase of RIV points sold has us worrying about this (since RIV could be technically declared as "sold out" anytime within the next year).

We don't want to miss out on incentivized direct points at RIV (before it is sold out). And you can only get a Fixed Week while it is still in active sales.

You can still get a Fixed Week when a resort is sold out. It just depends if Disney is still selling that particular week at the time you inquire.

It's true places like CCV won't sell the floating RunDisney Fixed Week, but other sold out resorts still offer it. You just have to check.

When Big Pine Key was on sale at VGF you couldn't get a Fixed Week in the original building because the points were deeded to Big Pine Key. Same thing with PVB IT. No deluxe studios or bungalows right now. Now that Big Pine Key "sold out" at VGF and points are being reacquired for both Big Pine Key and OG VGF you can get Fixed Weeks in the original building at the current sold out price of 265 per point.

Seems like you are taking a prudent and measured approach. Our needs can change over time, but too often we avoid making changes out of fear, inertia, etc. and continue on hoping that somehow things will improve on their own. This a good reminder to evaluate my DVC portfolio from time to time and consider what, if any, changes should be made.

Can’t believe I’m saying this, but… same here. After a week at RIV in August, I actually missed it when we moved to BWV…I know…total plot twist.

We usually book studios at BWV, and there’s almost always P/G availability at 7 months when we travel. Plus, with Swan p/n rates as low as $215 all-in this summer, I start wondering whether I should have used my points at all. (Blasphemy!)

I still love BWV - it’s just feeling less essential to *own* there for our travel patterns. And with resale prices still up, it’s hard to ignore what that cash could do if I put it towards more RIV or CCV - even given the brokers fee, etc.

Anyway - just showing some moral support for @MerlinandtheMouse - we can genuinely love Crescent Lake and still feel like other resorts fit our travel style better right now!

Key point- In AUGUST

Florida… in August…

Totally get it, how it makes you feel matters. The shower door wouldn't shut in our BCV room and I was not loving it and having one bathroom is a pain (shout out to BLT). I will be honest if the shower door didnt shut in our BW room I wouldve still been just as happy since BW makes me that happy. So if you aren't feeling it then it makes perfect sense to sell when prices are still up. I will say this though the point chart for resort view at BW has me on a high, I am saving so many points on several stays. BCV is the same as CCV point chart wise so I would rather own CCV vs BCV due to length of contract and I actually really loved it there.
