Back in our room! We've had a successful first day! Tonight we went over to the Studios to see the Obi-Wan & Beyond show, it was great! James Arnold Taylor is completely amazing!

We had appetizers in the lounge before we went, they had assorted cheeses, 3 different types of hummus, these little triangles with some sort of spinach stuff inside them, and these other little meat things, I'm terrible at remembering to look at the signs. But it was all very good! Later tonight they had several different desserts, all different than last night. I love variety!

My only complaint is they don't have water available to take back to your room. They don't have bottles, carafes, or liters, only one small pitcher of water on a table near the fridge which was mostly just melted ice. Tomorrow I think I'll go down to the Mara and buy some bottled water to keep in our room fridge.

No, it was something different than that, sort of spicy, might not have been spinach. Tomorrow I will do a better job at reading the signs.

It's great the room situation is settled! How are you finding transportation? Do you feel like it takes forever to get to the parks because of AKL more remote location?

I've been so busy working that I haven't had much time to play on the DIS...but I'm here now! Too funny on the epic fail surprise! I don't think our kids would have been too thrilled either. It would have been all my fault had I not remembered something they couldn't have lived without (when in all actuality, they could've lived without!).

Glad you were able to get a different room both times. We had a bunkbed room there a few years ago and it was tight with one adult and three kids.

I am so jealous you are doing Harambe Nights! I totally want to do that too! DH isn't a big AK fan so convincing him we need to do it would prove to be difficult. I'll get to live vicariously thru you!

Hopefully we'll see each other at SAB-we arrive Thursday at BC and plan on spending most of the day at the resort. It's a non-park day for us. The kids are just as thrilled to spend the day at SAB as they are going to a park!

Hey gang So sorry I haven't posted many pics so far today, I'm having major issues with the wifi. We are back to the room now from our trip to AK this morning. We had nice weather up until the very end of the Nemo show when we came out into the rain. No big deal, liquid sunshine right???

AK buses are scarce. Yesterday we saw a lot of buses come and go and not a single AK bus. Today was the same thing. We saw 3 MKs, 2 Epcots, 3 DTD, countless Studios, and then finally a completely full bus to AK came. Half the people waiting couldn't even get on. It really doesn't make sense, you'd think AK buses would be the most frequent.

Tomorrow we are going to MK early in the morning for our SDMT fastpasses, so hopefully we won't be late.

It does seem as if your family has had a statistically higher number of room problems than the average guest would have. But didn't you get some good pixie dust from the YC room mess?

We broke my cardinal rule of never checking in late! Usually we would do one night at Pop and then check-in early the next morning, but this time I just felt lazy and didn't feel like unpacking and repacking for one night.

I feel AKL should have known better than to give a family with teenagers a bunkbed room, but I do give them credit for making it right the next day.

I don't think they maliciously do it, but I'd say a majority of guests aren't really aware of the exact amenities their room could or should have. The way this resort is laid out the can use the 4th floor for club level and non-CL guests, all mixed together. So if they need more club rooms, they make them club, and if they don't sell that many club then they make them regular savannah view. You don't have this at other deluxe resorts because the club rooms are always in their own specific area.

We haven't eaten there in years. It just sounded good this morning so we checked and they had availability!!! We are all huge fans of seafood, and we purposely didn't even walk through the lounge tonight so we'd be extra hungry!
