Okay, I have read many forums about The Mummy and the Hulk and other rides at IOA and US. Many don't want you to have anything in your pockets or have a bag w/ you. Can I wear my glasses on the mummy? I would feel better if I had them on so I could see all the details of the ride.

Is it that wild that they would come off or anything???

Thanks! :)

I don't take my glasses (which are fairly loose fitting to begin with) off for any ride and have never had a problem.

I wear sunglasses on the coasters at IOA, and have never had a problem. but the nets under the hulk collect them every day. my contacts always get wet on the final drop on ROTM. anythings possible, but ROTM is very smooth so I'd bet you'll be OK.

Thanks for all the replies. I don't mind taking mine off on the super dooper rollercoasters..but when you need to see all the little details, I'd like to see them. The big time roller coasters..well, I just shut my eyes and scream the whole time! :bounce:

On the Mummy your glasses will get spritzed and you'll need to clean them at the end. I almost lost my glasses on DD.

I carry a Croakies eyeglass leash and snug them tight before a wild ride. Croakies are comfortable and allow you to cinch glasses tight to the head, unlike some leashes that are just a long unadjustable cord.

I also always carry a nice eyeglass cloth to wipe my glasses clean after they get misted on rides like mummy.

Most sunglass / eyeglass shops should carry leashes, Croakies and eyeglass clothes.

I also wear my Croakies in water parks so I can keep my glasses on for the slides. Otherwise, I can't see a thing.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will take a look next time I go into town and see if I can find this. I appreciate it. As I said, on wild rollercoaster rides, my eyes are closed anyway, but I'd like to see little details on rides like the Mummy.

;)

I work at Mummy (and also wear glasses by the way). I don't know of anyone losing glasses they were wearing on the ride (I always wear mine). The only ones who lose glasses (usually sunglasses) are the ones who have them in their shirt pocket, or tucked in the front of their shirt.

An interesting (or not) side note. I have very poor vision without my glasses (the "what eye chart?" kind). The first time I ever rode Space Mountain at WDW, right after it opened, they required people to remove their glasses. Combining the darkness, poor vision and the interweaving nature of the track, I found my 6'3" self constantly ducking the big blurry support crossbeams that were whizzing by. From then on, I'd put my glasses back on after we left the load platform.

never done the mummy, but I did lose my sunglasses on MIB in the spin!

I've worn glasses since age 5 (I bet my vision is as bad as ChainsawWolf's - Coke Bottle bottom-thick) and I simply use one of those old-fashioned glasses straps that connect to the earpiece and snug to your head. Maybe these aren't necessary, but I'd hate for that one odd bump, jerk or drop to find out that they were....
