The Mr & Mrs do disney Nov/Dec 09 - UPDATE : can the last one out turn the lights off

I did the afternoon tea with my mom and then 2 of my good friends and LOVED it both times!!! I thought the food would be just like little snacks but between all that you get and the tea we were pretty full!!!

I really wanted to do the afternoon tea but unfortunately we've ended up booking the GF cafe instead. I can use the afternoon tea as a reason to go back to disney in the future ;)

Howdy Jo, it's Nic! So glad to see your plans start to come together.:woohoo: I'm a crazy planner myself and had an itinerary set on last years hours about a second after I booked our trip. :rotfl: I'm waiting for the hours so I can solidify our plans, but I think we're pretty set. As soon as we know I'll post our schedule on my own trip planning thread.

I personally LOVE Christmas, so I know that a Disney Christmas will be like a Christmas on a sugar rush!! We'll be celebrating a belated anniversary too! No worries, it's what the trip was intended for right? Plus it's CHRISTMAS!!! :yay:

Random question, not sure if anyone, or you Jo, would know. DH and I have a few ADR's that I will be setting up on Friday (California Grill, Le Cellier for CP, and Chef Mickey's). We have free dining so we'll have 4 more table service credits. I'm not sure I really want to limit us with too many ADR's as DH kind of likes to go with the flow and sometimes eat depending on what we're doing, where we are and what kind of mood we're in. How hard to you think it would be if we did a walk up. Now we know that there are peak hours, and we're kind of dining at off times anyway. But lets say we want to do a late lunch/early dinner in Japan, do you think that would be impossible?

Thanks for the help Jo and have a magical day!!! princess:

Hi honey  Belated anniversaries all the way  We're still celebrating and why not do it at disney :thumbsup2 I can't wait to see all the christmas decorations and the characters dressed up :santa:

We've finally booked our ADR's and we are doing the same thing you mentioned!! I've left a few gaps in the plans so that we have got a bit of freedom to do some CS meals or just 'turn up' somewhere when we're hungry. We know alot of the TS places will probably be booked, but I just want to have a little freedom here and there :wizard:

I hope your plans are going well

I think your plans sound great. I would love to try T-Rex, maybe on a future trip. I have never done Whispering Canyon, we were going to but my Mom read that the meat is smoked, she can't have "smoked" stuff, it causes migraines. Did you notice if everything was smoked? Would there be something she could order without MSG?

I'm excited to try T-rex  We love rainforest cafe so i'm hopeing its going to be like that. To be honest i'm not sure what she could eat at Whispering Canyon - maybe check out the menu and then give them a quick call to double check?? I'm sure they would be able to cook something for her :)

Looks good to me! I've wanted to try whispering canyon for awhile now..but can't find any decent reviews on it! You can check out my 2 for 1 PTR in my signature, I updated it!

Hi there :goodvibes The canyon food was nice, so i'm hopeing its still good :thumbsup2

Sounds good! We are excited to check out T-Rex! You know... you can call them directly and not have to wait the 90 days to do adr's? If you need it, I can give you the number!

I didnt know you could do that! I booked it online last night so we are all set, but thanks anyway

Hi  - Count me in! We'll be in Disney in early December too! Your ADR's look tasty, and somewhat familiar LOL

Hiya!! Thanks for reading :cutie: Do you have a PJ i can check out? Would love to follow your plans too!!

I'm here now :) I love your ADR's..we are hoping to do a lot of the same ones!

Hiya honey  Thanks for coming over!! We finally booked our ADR's last night so I'm gonna post our actual plans now :woohoo:

So, after my MAJOR 2 day melt down, which involved lots of kicking, screaming, tantrums and throwing all my toys out of the pram I finally calmed down and booked our ADR's!!

I was getting soooo unbelievably stressed out by the whole planning process, dont know what came over me - I was worrying about everything and I mean EVERYTHING! I was on the verge of cancelling our dining plan and WL reservation :scared1: So I gave myself a swift slap!!

Sat down last night, re-worked all the plans, decided what our 'Must Do's' are and then got down to booking the ADR's - only to have the system log me out because i'd been doing it for long than 2 hours :headache: :headache:

Eventually, all ADR's were booked! HALLELUJAH!! I'm soooo glad that is over and that I can carry on with the 'happy' planning now :wizard:

This is where we are eating ... we are throwing in some CS too as we like it and it gives a bit more freedom to a very hectic plan

We are staying at AKL- I just printed out my count down calendar, I'm a dork

AKL is beautiful!! Have you stayed there before? Nothing wrong with printing out you calendar - being a dork is great, you're in the right place, you'll find lots of us dorks on here :thumbsup2:laughing:

Looks like everything worked out for you! Those are some good meals!!! We are thinking about getting a room service meal also!!! Fun!

Love all your choices! I've never tried room service..hmmm..think I can get dbf to go for it once the next trip? probably not..he has a thing against eating in/near beds...so happy you got everything you wanted!!

Thanks! I can't wait to eat my way through that list  I've got quite a few snacks on our must do list as well - we are gonna be stuffed  We did room service on our honeymoon and if was fab

You should definately do it, we didnt get any food near the beds so i'm sure you'll be fine

Well I'm glad you got your ADR's made, the stress is over. Well at least that part anyway. Why we stress over these things? Who knows, but it all pays off in the end right?

Well, i'm at it again, I've got my confused stress head on again! :headache:

Originally the plan was to stay off site for the first 3 nights, however, DH was talking last night and said that it might be better to stay at the WL for all nine nights - normally I would have this reaction ' :yay: ' but instead I've got this kind of reaction ' :scared1: ' as I would have to re-work the whole budget, re-plan what we're doing each day, cancel some of my existing ADR's and try and get new ones  Help! What should I do?? :confused3

Should we stick with the original plan or totally shuffle everything around so that we get to stay at WL (if available) ?? It would be easier staying in the same place for 9 nights as we wouldnt have the whole packing & unpacking saga in the middle of the trip and plus we could take the pace a bit easier in the parks because we'd have a couple of extra evenings to do anything we might have missed. Ahhhh, just when I thought everything was sorted :rolleyes1

GOOD LUCK!!! I say if you can afford it, go for it, even it means not doing DxDP. I'm not sure if you read my TR or not, but we had booked our WL room back in June and booked flights the other night only to find we had booked the room Fri-Wed and our flights are Thurs-Tues so I had to call WDW.com to cancel the one night and they were not able to add on for the 10th :( so we're stuck at YC for a night (darn!!!) The CM said to check back and that ppl cancel as it was $327 for a standard w/o my CM discount!! Even if you have to stay elsewhere and then switch, it won't be the end of the world and we've never stayed at YC and are kinda sorta excited!!!

Good luck with your choice!

Thanks honey  I still need to check out your PJ :yay: I'm sorry that you had problems with your booking too :sad2: I still dont know what to do :confused3 We would definately be downgrading to the basic dining plan as that would help pay for the extra nights. I'm so confused again though :sad2:

I know it's not what you want to hear, but I say keep with what you've got. You've already stressed over it, why put yourself through it again? I have switched our resort, our days & our various packages a million times over - in my head! In the end, we're still at CBR, we're still going 12/6-11 and we're still on the DDxP. I say stick with what you've got, it's only 3 nights...

I'm in! This will be our 8th Christmas at disney. We are visiting from December 17 -27, Staying at the Boardwalk Villas. Planning and Travel binder is getting full. ADR's are selected can call CRO on 9/18 and have started putting all our info into tripit for the blackberry and mouse manager for the paper edition.

All your plans sound great. Wilderness lodge is fantastic so I would change if it is possible.:santa:

Thanks for the advice honey  We're still discussing it a little but I think we'll end up sticking with what we've got booked. It's just going to be too much hassle trying to change everything, plus it will be more money - even if we downgrade the dining plan. We are going to decide 100% tomorrow night, we are going to sit down and talk it through when we get home from work.

Hi there, thanks for reading  Wow, you are so lucky to have visited that many times at christmas :cloud9: I hope everything goes well with your ADR's :thumbsup2 Do you have a PJ?

I did a terrible thing today - I logged into ebay :scared1: :scared1:

And bought waaaay too much :rolleyes1 But that's what holidays are all about arent they!!??

Treated myself to a couple of new bags (1 tink and 1 stitch) and a purse for the trip (eeyore) I then somehow randomly found my way to looking at christmas tea light / candle holders and bought the cutest holders to put above our fire in the lounge.

I then started looking at pins (this was because a kermit one popped up when I was looking at muppets items) and thought that it would be fun to give it a go in december - pin trading, have any of you guys ever tried it?? We havent, we did buy a couple of pins on our previous trips & i'm thinking of getting them put in a frame somehow on the wall. So how does this pin trading thing work? Because i've just bought us some pins to trade :lmao: Need to get us a lanyard too :3dglasses

We all do it, we make our plans, we're happy and then we start thinking, and that's what causes our stress, it would be so helpful if once plans were made we could just walk away content, but no, it's a blessing and a curse to want the best out of a trip.

My two sense, unless you enjoy rearranging all your ADR's and park schedlues, stick with what you got and then stop second guessing. It's so easy for me to say this, I don't follow my own advice, but it's easier to see the picture more clear if you are looking at it from an outside view as opposed to being right in the middle.

Did you get the Kermit pin? I'm not a pin trader, but I love Kermit the Frog.
