The movie UP

Up in 3D?

  • Do see UP in 3D if possible.

  • It really doesn't matter.

I actually didn't like Up as much as I'd hoped. But aside from that..

I'm totally pro-3D. Some of the scenes of the clouds, nature, waterfalls made me say - wow, I'm glad I'm seeing this in 3D. It was stellar.

Seeing a movie like this in 3D is like going to HDTV, or surround sound, or any other new technology. It brings the experience to another level, even though previous to the technology everything was "fine." It's just plussing it to the next level.

So this is the 4th Disney Digital 3D movie I've seen. (Meet the Robinsons, Chicken Little, Bolt) The 3D experience has been great in all of them, even though the movies haven't all been great. (I'm a Bolt fan.)

You obviously won't notice any deficits in 2D. It's just a different experience in 3D. I loved it.

The 3D that is. I thought the movie itself was OK.

I say see it in 3D. There are so many scenes in the movie that are in the clouds. It makes everything pop more.

DS (18) and I went to see it this afternoon. We really enjoyed it. We also loved the short. Very cute.;)

Hey, why didn't I get to see the short?

No Partly Cloudy for you? That is odd. I hadn't heard of anyone not seeing the short before the feature film.

As for 3-D or not 3-D, I did see it in 3-D and it was great. It probably would have been great without the 3-D, but I am in favor of seeing it in 3-D because you can. You can always watch the 2D version when it comes out on DVD!

Answering whether it is "worth it" is tough because it is hard to put a value on the upgrade. I know I had a little sticker shock when I paid almost $30 for two adults, but after the movie I didn't regret paying at all- this one is high on the list of great Pixar movies. As others have said, it isn't gag 3-D like the shows in the parks - it is more the next level of enhanced viewing, like what HD has done for regular TV.

This past weekend I saw UP in 3D. I was impressed with this movie . towards the end of the movie and durring the moment when the wife died I nearly cried. I give Up :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We went to see it in 2D because I didn't want to wait until 11:30pm to see it in 3D. What a great movie! I was thinking of going to see it again in 3D in the next couple of weeks.

Did anyone else not get to see "Partly Cloudy" before "Up"?

I guess I'll buy it on iTunes, then.

I keep saying this, but it is true...Pixar is the best run movie studio in the world. This movie is deep and entertaining...and should not be missed. This film hits on many levels and should get Academy attention for Picture...it is that good.

I finally saw Up. :goodvibes

The movie was fabulous. I loved  it!

This was my first 3D :3dglasses movie other than the ones at WDW. I love the pop out at you effects of the WDW 3D movies. This was far more subtle, gave the scenes a sence of depth and lushness.

There was a $3.50 upcharge for the the film in 3D. It was the only choice at my theater.

The story and visuals carried the film. Factoring the extra money for 3D, I think the two choices are equal.

And, yes did indeed tear up and cry at a few scenes. Thanks for the warning to bring tissues!

Yes, see it in 3-D as the clarity of the picture is something to behold. Way better than on a regular screen. There are 144 frames per second in the 3D version, which is SIX TIMES FASTER than a regular movie!!!!!
