The movie Babel.....what?? (major spoiler)

I watched this movie last night. If you have not seen it, what you will read below is a major spoiler. Proceed at your own risk.




I did not get the Japanese girl's story, and what it had to do with Morocco. Sure, I understand the whole gun thing. I just got the impression that the dad gave the gun away and it had nothing to do with the fact his wife killed herself with it. Now, if we found out he actually killed his wife, then it would be getting rid of evidence. THAT would of made more sense.

I just don't think the 3rd storyline had much to do with the main story. It was just confusing the movie.

It didn't really have anything to do with the main story line. That's why the movie's called Babel. They just babbled about stuff that was loosely connected.

I guess it was just a way to tell another kind of story. The deaf girl story really sunk into me and even though I have no real idea of what it is like to be deaf, I feel I understand it a bit more than I used to.

IMO the movie is about communication. Think about the story of the Tower of Babel and what the word "babel" means.
