thank you, hadn't made a turkey for many years, so it was actually fun coming up w/ the stuffings and other seasonings, we had some good leftover turley sandwiches :thumbsup2 I wonder if they would have tasted better sitting in 70 degree weather though ;) Matt says when the kids are a bit older we should make Thanksgiving at Disney a yearly thing :cool1: I'm cool w/ that!

Our first trip in 2004 was for Thanksgiving and I remember loving the weather and being able to see the Christmas decorations

Great job, crossing those things off the list! I love that feeling of getting things done. :)

yes it is :thumbsup2 hoping to get some more things done this week...my main goals for week 1) of Holiday break from school is to start packing for the trip and Scrapbook...:woohoo:

Your plans look great!:yay:

And I can't wait to hear about your family nights. I have really wanted to try many family nights but sometimes have a hard time pulling it off:lmao:

thanks you...we really love doing the family nights, even just something super simple, nice to be together :goodvibes this trip it has been a bit harder to keep them going...busy time of year, w/ other fam stuff going on ;)

Whoops~! Double post! Sorry!

no worries

Our first trip in 2004 was for Thanksgiving and I remember loving the weather and being able to see the Christmas decorations

hi  Thanksgiving time at Disney was very FUN and nice, we def will do it again :thumbsup2

I have been trying to get some trip planning stuff done over the last few days before my attention returns to finish getting ready for the Christmas weekend :santa:

before I get to the planning update...a quick life update re Matt and his recovery...he saw the surgeon earlier this week and was given the all clear :cool1: he no longer needs to wear the brace and is released to drive and start lifting above the 10 lb restriction...in re to our trip, all is fine, but be cautious about the rides, like we thought...we'll see how well he sticks to that  I will want him too....I think the hardest one to skip will be TSM

I finished making our touring cards for Days 3-5 of the trip.

Day 3) Tuesday 17th is a full day at MK w/ an extended break at BLT

This day will include "scheduled" character stops and a trip to Tom Sawyer's Island something we haven't done since 2009. we'll also make sure we see Wishes in front of the castle (as of right now no MSEP is scheduled)

Jan2012MKday3.jpg

Day 4) Wednesday 18th is a 3/4 day at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

We have just a few splits scheduled into the day for Star Tours and ToT... Bekah says she wants to try it this yr...so we'll see but I'm going on w/ or without her (I know bad mama...but I need at least one thrill kick this trip :rolleyes1)

we'll also focus on shows and try to hit upo some characters...we all watch P&F so I think a family group shot would be hilarious

Jan2012DHSday.jpg

Day 5) our departure day will find us back at MK for 1/2 a day. I hope to be on the ball this morning and get out of the room lickity split and take care of the luggage stuff so we can get over to the park before 9 am since it's a morning EMH...so we'll see

this tour plan is all about favorites and anything missed...items listed are possiblities, we will NOT do it all

In other planning news I started packing :rotfl: I know, but seriously it's like my mini "it's 30 days till I leave till Disney" celebration

I need help :rolleyes1

I already had the two larger suitcases still sitting in our room from Oct  and brought up our two smaller ones.

DSCN0528.jpg

Matt and I really hope we can make it w/ just the 4 suitcases, I think it's lofty thinking...but we'll see. I started w/ pulling all of our Disney related clothing to my bed:

DSCN0516.jpg

The I sorted through them pulling shirts that coordinated and making notes of what shirt each child was wearing each day. I purchased only a few new shirts for Naomi-Ruth (apparetnly she didn't need them :rolleyes1) and I also bought her on a recent Target run some cute velour pull up skirts and leggings to pair up as outfits.

Here's a look at her selected clothes:

DSCN0521.jpg

DSCN0522.jpg

plus this old sweatshirt of Rachel's almost fits her, so we'll be taking that too:

DSCN0524.jpg

and as a special bonus she'll wear this cute Lilo Hawaiian dress up costume that both Bekah and Rachel have worn.

DSCN0525.jpg

I also determined outfits for Rachel (I'll need to re-pull her bottoms later to pack)

DSCN0526.jpg

DSCN0527.jpg

The Stitch shirt and pants were given to her by Diser irish dancer (Anne Marie) her sister actually made this and a few other outfits for her daughter

And figured out the shirts for the twins (Nathan could use some new ones...hopefully I can fir in a run to the Disney store before we go)

DSCN0529.jpg

After pulling the clothes and placing them in the suitcases (not packed that's a difference) I just knew 4 suitcases wasn't going to cut it. :headache: but after talking w/ Matt and going over the options...I will just HAVE to pack less...I mean i do have laundry in the room, and how many clothes does one really need for 5 days?

I plan at this point to try and get by w/ up to 5 shirts per person, and 3 bottoms for most. Plus some layering items, like sweatshirts and long sleeves.

I also went through my trip budget (I'll share that in detail later) and figured out a based of what I need to still pull together. And the good news is I have all the money needed to puirchase the park tickets :woohoo: so I will be ordering those before the end of the month.

to finish this post, a funny story...so last week my daughter bekah came up w/ the mail into the house announcing to me "Who do you know in Canada?" I actually now know a few people...but i knew this particluar little package was from my fellow Spectrum Mom and Diser Mickey_Mom (Tracy)...thne this week she got the mail again and w/ a funny face says to me" You know alot of people in different places...who do you know from China?" this was actually our trading pin order from an Ebay seller :thumbsup2

that's it for now...

I'm so glad to hear that Matt is doing so well!!! Your plans sound great! You guys have so much fun Disney clothing!

Awesome news about Matt's recovery. I know what you mean about over packing - I've said I'm going to cut back on this trip but with going in the winter and needing layers I don't see it actually happening.

So glad for Matt!!

Oh, I decided not to start packing until after January 1st. I just want to concentrate on Christmas ... and like you and lledman, I'm going to overpack, too.

I've been putting outfits aside for the girls and it already completely fills up one of those pop-up hampers...so I want to downsize, too.

I know I'll thank myself for downsizing -- less to pack = less to carry = less to unpack and repack = less to get lost = MORE time to play at Disney!!

Merry Christmas Julie!! :goodvibes Hope you all had a great day! I'm so glad Matt is doing well. :thumbsup2

Your trip is so close!!! Don't forget to pack hats, gloves & winter coats! ;)

I hope you and your family had a great Christmas!

I love packing too! It makes the trip seem so real. Yay for you!

The skirt and legging outfits are adorable! I never get to dress a little girl...:sad2:

I'm so happy to hear the good report on Matt's recovery. :goodvibes
