The Kids are running the SHOW…the NEXT Mouse Scrapper Family Trip!

100_7195.jpg

When: 5 days in January 2012 the 15-19th (Sun-Thurs)

We're escaping the cold winter and gray days of Chicago... for Sunny Florida!

Resort: our home DVC resort BLT

After 3 pretty big WDW family trips in a row (June ’08 Poly, Spring break March/April ’09 CSR, and Thanksgiving Break Nov ’10 BLT) plus a Mom solo trip w/ the Spectrum Moms (Jan ’11 AKV) and an upcoming Mickey-versary for Mom and Dad (Oct ’11 BLT) it is time for the Mouse KIDS to get a special trip to themselves!

Here’s the deal:

Mom and Dad have chosen the dates (wanted to pick a slower time and chose days that allowed for the lowest DVC pt spread plus kids will only miss 2 days of school –off the Mon/Tues already) and resort we went w/ our Home because of transportation ease for such a short trip.

Mom and Dad have set some parameters within the type of DDP (OOP and possibly a segment w/ DDP) and type of Park Passes (planning on 5 day non hoppers). We also will have final vote on extras like shopping, mini golf, etc…

The KIDS get to decide which parks we want to spend most of our time in and what we get to do there!

The kids will help plan/make the touring plans/cards

The kids will choose dinning choices (from a pre selected list) and snacks!

The kids will help plan out the extras…

…this should make for a FUN and NEW adventure as we get ready to go back to WDW!

I figure I they have have been enough times to know what they like and want and since this will be a shorter trip than usual and the hoping the tween-teen yrs don't "turn off" the twins figured right time...makes them more excited too and a fun PTR...going to have them type up a few posts along the way too...:goodvibes

MY goal is to have some more of the parks stuff figured out by end of this week before Nathan goes to camp so we can start working on food when he gets back! they love LOVE going to WDW so this makes for a new twist!

The CAST of Characters:

100_7934.jpg

Naomi-Ruth (NR):

100_7507.jpg

the youngest and most energetic…she will be just over 5 at the time of this trip and in Pre-K. This will be her 4th trip to WDW. Her skills in planning will include crafts and she says the best thing about planning a WDW trip is me (Mom). Naomi-Ruth has many food intolerances that can make eating away from home a big challenge, in previous trips she has managed on food brought from home, but this trip, we will have to rely more on Disney’s offerings.

100_7221.jpg

100_7073.jpg

Rachel (R):

100_7671.jpg

the dreamer …she will be just over 9 yrs old at the time of this trip and in 3rd grade. This will be her 5th trip to WDW. Her skills in planning will include packing lists and countdown charts and she says the best thing about planning a WDW trip is that you get to work together w/ your family.

100_7561.jpg

100_7165.jpg

Nathan (N):

IMG00023.jpg

the lone Pirate of the bunch…he will be 12 ½ yrs old at the time of the trip and in 7th grade. This will be his 5th trip to WDW. His skills in planning will include planning countdown family nights and food choices at WDW and he says the best thing about planning a WDW trip is deciding how many times we get to go on POC. Nathan also has ADHD and Aspergers.

Rebekah (B):

the reader and the most inquisitive …she will be 12 ½ yrs old at the time of this trip and in 7th grade too. This will be her 5th trip to WDW as well. Her skills in planning will include making touring cards and crafts, she says the best thing about planning a WDW trip is reading the plans when we are done…”giving me satisfaction, whoo-hoo it’s time to go”. Bekah also has ADHD and is in on the Spectrum, keeping a balance between fun and rest plus good eating habits will be her challenge.

Matt (Dad) Mouse Hubby:

100_7086.jpg

this will his 10th trip to WDW. His skills in planning the trip will include providing the finances ;) and planning countdown family nights. He says the best thing about planning a WDW trip is that my wife does all the work.

100_8086.jpg

Julie (Mom) Mouse Scrapper aka Scrappie (J-):

100_9243.jpg

this will be my 11th trip to WDW. My skills in planning the trip will include being the main overseer, making/holding the budget, and general “Cruise Director”. I think the best thing about planning a WDW trip is finding new ways to bring MAGIC into our lives and sharing it w/ you my Dis-friends :goodvibes

What a wonderful bunch of "characters"! :rotfl2: I loved reading what they all liked about planning a trip to WDW. My favorites responses were Naomi Ruth's and Hubby's! ;)

I can't wait to see what's up next and what decisions the kids start making! So much fun reading along!
