We'll be there for 7 days starting on Saturday and I imagine we'll do just about everything, but I wonder if there are any little gems I haven't thought or read about. There must be.

Some of the things that I think are underrated:

Critter country - It's peaceful and shady
DCA - Nowhere near as "good" as DL, but offers a great contrast and really makes a long DLR vacation possible.
Astro Orbiter - Still never been on it, but hey it's been there a long time, so that's something.

Anyone else? :)

Having a Dole Float while waiting for the Tiki Room. The best! It's fairly shady and cool and it never seems crowded. Really old school too. :thumbsup2

I know there are mixed opinions on this one but one of our favorite shows is Aladdin's Oasis. Our DD is 8 and loves to try to participate in the show. She has made it on stage 3 times. It's a cute show and allows some time to sit and take a break while watching. The cast does a great job of telling the story and making it fun at the same time.

My great Dole Whip moment:

Watching my three little kids bake cookies in their giant paper chef's hats while enjoying a Dole Whip on a hot July day. We just happened to stumble on that one. Ahhh the memories... :cool2:

Is that Aladdin & Jasmine's Storytelling? We haven't done that one yet.

I had that same Dole Whip Moment on a hot April day, watching my 3 kids make cookies. The best part? Not having to share my Dole Whip! :thumbsup2

Yep, that's it.

The cookie making was great fun too but sadly it apparently has been discontinued :sad1: since Nestle will no longer be a sponsor.

It's Tough to be a Bug has got to be one of the most underrated attractions at DLR. It has some great 3D and special effects and audio-animatronics, but it hardly ever has a line.

I'd also have to say Pinocchio and Monster's Inc. Both are great dark rides that don't usually have long lines or rave reviews.

My final nomination is the Disneyland Railroad. Such a relaxing ride. Plus the Grand Canyon and Primeval World dioramas are cool.

Now that you mention it, I believe I owe my kids a Dole Whip. :)

Nah, you don't. Not unless they shared their cookies with you. ;) Fair's fair! :lmao:

I think a lot of people miss out on the Animation Studio because it doesn't really look like an attraction. It's definitely one of my favorite things to do in DCA, not to mention it is usually dark, quiet and cool in there.

.

I 100% Agree with this. Not many people ever mention it, and the shows usually have lots of seating left. Partially I think cause new comers to the park will just over look it. Its in a strange location in a bugs land. I probably would have walked right passed it if I didnt know it was there.

We love the Animation Studio!! It's so much fun to try to draw your own character in there!! And the Wizard room is fun, we love letting Ursula steal our voices and taking the quiz in the Beast's library to see what character we are most like. And of course Turtle Talk with Crush is loads of fun!!

We love sitting at the Hungry Bear in the back corner downstairs, and watching Jack go from the mainland to the island. :) Ok maybe that's just me.....LOL

The Tiki Room with a Dole Whip and there are some nice benches between Frontierland and the stage over near Main Street. I love it there, very quiet and relaxing. :)

I agree.... i have been to disneyland over 12 times and just this past December decided to do some things we had never done before. One was ride the railroad from Tommorrow Land to the main gate and what a treat that was for my 3 boys!!! We had no idea those scenes were down there. We also did the Tiki room for the first time( probably will be our only time).

Oh ya, we love the Railroad too, ride it full circle, it's really neat.

We also like the Innoventions center, go see ASIMO, that is a really neat show!! And sometimes they give lessons on Segways. :)

The best thing in there, IMHO, is the Toy Story zoetrope (spelling?) It's the coolest thing and something a lot of people miss because of where it's at. When you go in the Animation Studio, go to the room on the left, and just wait.

Underrated: The canoes!

I think virtually all the shows at CA are underrated as well.

Animation Studio for sure also.

we loved that too! I didn't think I would but we were right there so we just went in and it ended up being one of our favorite things. We wanted to go back and learn to draw another character but ran out of time.
