OHHHHHHHHH GOOD GOLLY!!!!!!!

I swear a person stays conceirge ..has a wonderful trip and ditches a few ressies and they are ready to burn me at the les ceiller steak :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

hmmm maybe I shouldn't mention that I had already eaten at Les Ceillers for lunch back on day 3 as my vip tour guide got us a last minute table there :rotfl2:

What a fun trip report! Your DD is adorable. BTW Iam a big fan of going with the flow:) on vacation. I would certainly put my child's wishes first especially on a Mom/ daughter getaway.

Brook - I am glad to see you are still :rotfl2: at all these ridiculous comments tonite.

I know I am! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

good golly I forget some people don't know my humor. I knew you would get it. sorry for the remarks on here becasue of it.

great ending and pics.

it really sounds like a wonderful trip. I think I will look into the safari tour for our trip in September.

Thanks for sharing and sorry again for that.

Scott we loved the safari tour. I promise you will LOVE IT!
It was one of the big highlights of our trip!!

Dont worry about those others. I knew what you meant and thats all that matters ;)

But if you cant get les ceillers try walking up that day as there are tons of cancels or no shows!

We got into Mama's that way for dinner and we were able to change Yak and Yeti's from 2 to 6 peeps.

Disney dining ADR's are taken with a grain of salt. Seriously when I can have ressies and still be expected to wait an hour and a half on being sitting for breakfast.... goodness!

I'm still shocked you had to wait that amount of time with an ADR. We've never waited more than 20 minutes for an ADR seating and the 20 minute wait is always at Crystal Palace. I HATE that place but the baby loves Pooh bear so I deal with it. CRT...Le Cellier....50's Prime Time, never more than a 15 minute wait.

I can't believe you didn't gripe at them about such a long estimated wait!? :confused3 I say this because you come off as the type that don't put up w/ a lot of, well, you know what I mean here! :lmao:

As for Le Cellier...we do eat here every trip but to be honest, it isn't the best place in the World! It's just VERY SMALL so it fills up quickly. All the hype and hoop la isn't because the food is so delicious, it's okay, but not outstanding. The reason people want to get in there so bad is because it's hard to get. However, I've made plenty of ressies here and never once had trouble getting one. Even last year when I was planning for 9 people! I ended up not going to one of our ressies last year but I happily gave it up to a deserving family that was dying to go (whom I'd met at the exit of Space Mountain!) It made their whole trip! We'd eaten there earlier in the week and didn't really want to go again.

I would have skipped out on the ressie to do the beach party! You would have hated my being there though because I would have brought my two year old with me! :rotfl2:

We never had overly long waits before with ADRS..this was new to us as well. Now places like GF cafe and Mama melrose had no waits but the really popular places (mostly character meals) had super long waits with ADRS.
I am not sure if Disney started overbooking MORE than ever this summer or what but it was crazy at certain times.
I have always been of a mind that a ressies was a ressie... you should have a table ready or almost ready when you arrive. This is NOT the case at Disney. I likened it to having a fastpass to eat. :rotfl2:

While your checking in, take a look at the list on the computer the greeter is using... pages and pages of ressies at the same time your trying to be seated. Since they are so overbooking CERTAIN places I don't feel bad that we skipped 2 of them. Seriously the people in line waiting would hug me :thumbsup2

Congrats on such a fun trip and thanks for the trip report! I can't believe people get SO upset over something like this. Your daughter is lucky to have such a great mom!

okay here is my politically correct picture for those who have delicate sensiblilties

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

That is so funny!

Oh and when the you told the lady that Giraffe's get milk from wal-mart it reminded me of something..

I was watching America's Funniest Videos and they had a family who made a stuffed Turkey (a turkey with a cornish hen inside) and the wife REALLY thought that the turkey was pregnant. :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

Brook-this is the first trip report I've read with so many trolls. You've handled them well...I agree with every decision you made.

Thanks and you need to plan another trip!

thanks Lisa... I am starting plans for next summer but nothing is set in stone yet. right now the kids are coming up with ideas and what they want to do. It looks like I will be taking my DS10 and savannah next summer. DH wont be able to get time off and Ds14 doesn't want to go and would rather do another week camping with the scouts.

The 2 kids both want to do discover cove REALLY badly so I think that is 1. on our list of to do things.

As SAvannah will be tall enough for the slides at Blizzard beach that is 2 on their list of things they want to do.

Other than that...errr... still coming up with a game plan :cool2:

yup sorry if that lady reads this trip report but anyone who actually has to ask outloud in front of a group of people if giraffe's breastfeed ..well err.... sorry to hurt their feelings but they are a crayon shy of a full box :rotfl2:

I can SAY this as I did laugh at the woman in real life :rotfl2:
I even got to do one of those HERE'S YOUR SIGN deals ...
SOOOOOO to the dingy lady if your reading this... YES giraffe's breastfeed. The tour said no children under 3 so keep little johnny with a sitter next time... oh and the tour stated to be there 15 minutes early, ready to go with no drinks or snacks..... soooo well... errr.... dont do that again as it slowed the rest of us way down as we waited for you to finish your iced coffee and salad :rotfl:

I finally finished your tour and it was great. You can handle people very well. Thanks for sharing.

This will be my first trip to Disney with kids. Are people that crazy to hell at you and bang into to you at parade? I can get really nasty when people are rude to me and try to hurt me. this worries me.

I agree. Lots of people want this reservation and cannot get it because of people like you who make the reservation and then just don't show up  .

Is this woman serious??? :confused3

It's all about the kids in WDW! I had to blow off a dozen ADRs to popular restaurants because my kids wanted to do other things besides sit and eat! :rotfl2:

Le Cellier only has 25 tables, yes it's difficult to get an ADR, but not impossible. Many people have found ways to make the ADR system work to their advantage. Many people reserve a table for 6 even if they are only a party of 2. Wrong yes, done all the time, yes.

Brook you need to start hopping on the Magical Express bus, I had lovely chat with a newlywed couple on the ride :) They explained to me "their" way of beating the ADR system. They had made an ADR for each meal, in each PARK at the same time (since they didn't know where they'd be) using her cell number, his cell number and their home number. They're always linked to a phone number! Talk about beating the system!! They were honeymooners otherwise I would have told them how wrong that was. But I'm also jealous when people eat in nice disney restaurants! :rotfl: That's no longer us for awhile. That's way too many ADRs for me (too much phone time too!). But hey, if it makes your vacation magical, go for it!

The ADRs have also changed since the dining plans. Years ago there was never a wait when you had an ADR and there was such a thing as walk ins. Now, it's truly a nightmare!

WDW used to be about the food when it was just DH and me. Now with the kids, it's all about stomping in puddles, searching for hidden mickeys and watching the monorail zoom by :)

But really, who doesn't blow off an ADR for more fun???:confused3

You did the right thing woman! Any mother with a heart and a fun streak will tell ya! :rotfl:

Mare

I have a phobia of the mears bus system ... really I do!

I hate mears busses, not thrilled with their cabs either but the busses are icky IMO

I have never done DME but I would rather pay for a cab than take the park busses.. again thats just me!

I did try to take the bus in june just to see if it had improved and I ended up on bus from hell for 1.5 hours from AK to GF

I know this is not the norm but I ALWAYS seem to get on the bus from hell :headache:

I never have luck with the bus systems... thats why I did a car service to and from MCO

I like the honeymooners idea :rotfl:
I know my VIP guide is a Disney employee and she had several ADR's for us to pick from...all there right on a piece of paper so even the employees double and triple book now. It is sad and in a perfect world I would say this was wrong to do but it seems like everyone is doing it which makes the ones who don't do it lose out... if that makes sense!

I do not overbook ADR's ... I couldn't keep track of them all if I did :rotfl2:
I do make sure to book a breakfast lunch and dinner every day for the parks we will be at. I am 60% sure we will blow off one of those ressies unless we are doing the deluxe plan and eating our way through Disney... yup done that before :rotfl2:

Why do I make ressies with the thought that at least 1 will be blown off? Well take my chef Mickey's for example... there was a 1.5 hour wait to be seated for breakfast!
That is valuable park time in the morning..less crowds and less heat... had we waited it would have been 2.5-3 hours to eat rather than spending that time in the parks. Not worth it for me soooooooo when we got there, we told the desk to cross our name off the list.

We were able to go to a noon lunch at Tony's which was NOT crowded at all. Had we eaten at Chef Mickeys I would have most likely skipped Tony's. disney forces my family to have ADRS 6 months in advance or we starve while staying on property ... that is terrible. Yes they have room service and I do take HUGE advantage of room service as I am the room service queen. Its hard to order room service at the parks though.. I know I tried :rotfl2:

I have no idea what line we will be in, what show we are waiting to see 6 months in advance. I plan our days around the fun and the magic and not about the food.

I like my system ... it isnt breaking any rules as I make 1 ressie for each meal. I am more than willing to blow off a ressie that Disney has completely overbooked as I am not waiting an hour to be seated :rolleyes1

With all that said... Scott really meant no harm by his post.
He was JOKING with me... yeah he wishes he could get les ceillers on his trip with 2 adults and I am crossing my fingers he gets it. He meant that with the best of intentions and by no means as a way to start trouble :rotfl2:

Kind of like ohhhhhhhhhhh man I want to go there and you just blew it off hahah like you would express to a friend :goodvibes
Now peter on the other hand... he is mean and kind of creepy so go pick on him :rotfl2:

Brooke,

I totally agree. Wow, here you are spending all of this time and energy creating this wonderful TR for us to get our vicarious jollys and someone is actually giving you grief over a missed ADR --- unwind a few revolutions already. :scared1:

Disney overbooks (maybe too much lately) ADRs because they expect a certain percentage of no-shows, it is all part of the system. The openings that they truely cannot fill they take a credit card for to discourage no-shows and even then it is OK to cancel within a certain timeframe.:thumbsup2

I have LOVED your report --- thanks so much for taking the time. It was super informative and just plain fun to read. Don't let it get to you.:cheer2:

You tried to get room service at the parks? :rotfl2: You're kidding! :rotfl2: I would love to go to Disney with you! You seem like a fun person to hang out with! :cutie:

Hey...if someone can't get an ADR they can always book a tour guide! Has your friend tried that? He should! Oh...about the tour guide...I wonder if they would have taken you guys backstage at Beauty and the Beast and Fantasmic to meet those characters you can't normally meet!? Now that would be worth a guide for us!!!! How freaking cool would it be to have your pic made with the entire cast of either of those!!! :woohoo:

BTW I don't think I ever told you but I loved the matching Camp Rock shirts you and Savannah bought! :thumbsup2
