The Most MAGICAL Trip Of Them All! "EVERYTHING'S PERFECT!" Oct. 2012 UPDATE 1/11

I so enjoy your updates!

It's so cute that your friend met her BF in Disney. If I could change one thing about my DFi, it would be that he needs to be as obsessed with Disney as I am! The boy just does not understand!!! :headache:

I'm glad you enjoyed Raglan Road. I thought it was sooooo good when I ate there last year, especially the bread pudding!!! Mmmmmmmmmm!!!! I had been stalking that bread pudding all over the restaurant boards for months before our trip. And you're right, it totally lived up to its reputation. I'm not sure if the fries you had were the Garlic & Parmesan fries that I had, but they were amaaaaaazing:

Can't wait for more!!!! I live vicariously through your updates :rotfl:

Thank you!

I know! It's really cute. Aww I'm sorry your fiance doesn't understand Disney. :( I don't think I could date someone who didn't understand Disney because I would annoy the heck out of them. :rotfl: Thankfully Preston gets it :thumbsup2 He's not as obsessed as me but I can talk about Disney for hours on end and he can actually enjoy it haha

It really is amazing bread pudding! Some of the best ever! I didn't have those fries but they look INCREDIBLE. I should go back and get them sometime/

Thank you!

I see the bus situation at CBR hasn't changed very much!! When I went for my honeymoon, it seemed like we were constantly waiting for a bus, which, let's face it, at Disney World, can be excruciating!

The bread pudding looks delicious, and I'm not usually a fan, but would be happy to try it!! Sounds like your trip is off to a nice start!!

Nope not at all! Aww I'm sorry you guys had to deal with that. :headache:

I feel like people who aren't even fans of bread pudding would probably enjoy the Bread Pudding at Ohana and Raglan Road. They're both AMAZING!!!

Raglan Road looks really good. I love that they serve the bread pudding in a cup. So cute.

Your friend is so lucky. It doesn't get much better than a first date at the Magic Kingdom. Maybe dinner at 'Ohana, a romantic monorail ride (hopefully new monorail voice guy wouldn't completely kill the mood), and then the Magic Kingdom? IDK. My increasingly impossible standards are going to be a problem. :rotfl:

Oh I know. And it was SO delicious. I'm seriously craving it right now. AHH.

I know, I'm really happy for her. :goodvibes Hahaha I don't think those expectations are too high. There are guys out there who could make that happen. :thumbsup2 That sounds like the perfect night hahaha.

Holy cow!!! Your meal looked fantastic!!!! I mean that dessert looked good on its own! :faint: :rotfl:

Ok, the whole taking me on our first date to the Magic Kingdom is literally a dream come true! :lovestruc What a lucky girl! ;)

Oh, and I love that Merida pin!

The one and only time I went to Raglan Road, I also had the fish and chips and it was delicious! That bread pudding looks good, although to be perfectly honest, I'm not entirely sure what is in bread pudding, but I like bread and pudding, so I figure it's probably pretty tasty! :thumbsup2

Also, my boyfriend just saw your Oswald pin and thought it was Steamboat Willie. *sigh* He's still learning... lol.

Oh wow, I can't believe I didn't notice this. Well... probably because I disappeared, but that's a different story. I'll just say without Disney in my life, life stinks so I'm joining in now! :mickeyjum

Thanks! It was REALLY good. Everything tasted phenomenal.

I know, seriously. That is way too cute.

Thanks!

Mmm good choice! I'm not really sure what is in bread pudding either. It has a weird texture but I really like it - especially the one from Raglan Road! (and Ohana!)

Hahaha aww he will get there. :thumbsup2

Welcome Timmy! :) I'm glad you're here!

Hi Jess!

I'm usually a lurker, but I had to come out of lurking to say that I stumbled upon your trip reports and I'm absolutely LOVING them!!!

I'm 22 years old and my parents are DVC owners. I've been to Disney over 30 times yet I've never been for a Mickey's Not So Scary or Food and Wine Festival. I really wanted to fix that this year, but between my class schedule and everything else I couldn't make it work. :(

I'll just have to live vicariously through your updates! :) My next trip is 10 nights over Christmas and New Years at Bay Lake Tower so I can't complain too much...

I know I'm late to the game, but congratulations on getting accepted to the Disney College Program!!! I'm a Fall 2013 CP hopeful so I'll definitely love to hear more about your journey as you get ready for such an awesome and magical adventure! :goodvibes

Ashlie

I'm so happy for you that you got accepted into the College Program! and in my favorite area - hospitality! I am pending right now for the Disneyland CP and requested hospitality roles too. I'm an "older" college student so not sure if they will even accept me but I def hope they will!

Love your Nemo balloon - that def counts as pixie dust! Raglan Road's food looks so yummy :thumbsup2

Aww thank you so much! :goodvibes I'm so glad!

You will definitely have to get there in the fall soon! Maybe next year! It's so much fun. :goodvibes That just proves that you can go to Disney an incredible amount of times and there's still so many new things to do!!

OH MY GOODNESS you are so lucky! That is EXACTLY what I did last year!! I don't know if you have seen my trip report from that trip... but here it is:http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2855462 It was THE MOST incredible trip of my life. You are going to have an amazing time!

Aww thank you so much! Good luck during your DCP! If you do advantage, maybe our summers will overlap!

That Raglan Road meal looks soooo very good. Now I have this urge to get bread pudding in a cup. *Sigh*

It was amazing! Haha I do not blame you - it was DELICIOUS!

Aww thank you! Yeah, I am so excited. Good luck getting in to the DLCP! I bet they will accept you! There's this one woman who is 57 who was accepted for the WDW DCP. So I think you've got a shot!

Thank you! It was fantastic!

I am *SO* in!!!!! Looking great so far!

Thank you!

Chapter 3: Grand Floridian Cafe, Hollywood Studios, and San Angel Inn
October 5th, 2012

I was up at 6 am this morning. That is SO unheard of! Clearly, the magic of Disney and my excitement for this day had something to do with that!

I got up, showered, and got ready for a wonderful DISNEY DAY!

Here are a couple pictures of the Jamaica section:

dsc0863d.jpg

Miranda came to pick us up around 7:45 - 8 am! She offered to drive us to our early breakfast reservation, which was SUPER helpful! I don't think we would have made it if we had to take the buses.

Where were we dining this morning? GRAND FLORIDIAN CAFE!

We walked in and I was just hit with this AMAZING sense of appreciation for the Grand Floridian. I don't know what it was, but I was just so incredibly in awe. I have always known how beautiful this resort was, but on this morning it was ESPECIALLY stunning. Maybe it was the early morning emptiness and just being in Disney! All I know is that I LOVE it and I was SO insanely happy to be there.

dsc0864p.jpg

We checked in at the Grand Floridian Cafe. There was a bit of a line, but since we had a reservation we were immediately seated.

Miranda and I ordered the Vanilla Laced French Toast which was DELICIOUS! That was some high quality french toast!

dsc0867qc.jpg

Mom got the Citrus Pancakes. GUYS. THESE ARE SO UNDERRATED. If you think you like the Macadamia Pineapple Pancakes at Kona.... GO TRY THESE. They are seriously just as good! WHAT A HIDDEN GEM! I want to go back there so bad just so I can get them for myself. The flavor was amazing!

dsc0866mu.jpg

We finished up and Miranda and I headed to DHS so we could get on Toy Story Mania! Mom stayed behind, settled the bill, and took the bus over to DHS so she could get her new Annual Pass!

img4960pm.jpg

By the way guys... From October-December 2012, if you are a Disney Vacation Club member and you buy a PREMIERE ANNUAL PASS (that includes Water Parks, Disney Quest, and a 20% Merchandise Discount!!) you can get it for only $400!!!! That is LESS than the basic annual pass and I think you're saving around $300. Something to DEFINITELY look into!

Once Miranda and I got to DHS, we went straight to Toy Story Mania! We got there at 9:40 am and the fastpasses were already for 1 pm! So we just hopped in the standby. The wait said 40 minutes but we were in and out of there in 20!

img4968e.jpg

My arm was SO tired by the end of that game. Clearly I was out of practice! Sadly, I only scored 168,000. Maybe next time! Miranda got around 158,000!

Mom met us at One Man's Dream and we went over to grab Rock N Roller Coaster fastpasses. Then got in line for Tower of Terror! It was around a 20 minute wait but then we were seated in THE FRONT ROW! WOOHOO!

img4971zb.jpg

img4975b.jpg

It was such a good ride sequence! AHHHH we had so much fun. We were noticing so many things we never saw before, too, which is always fun!

dsc0872kd.jpg

YAY TOWER OF TERROR. I am in love with that ride.

dsc0875e.jpg

dsc0876ca.jpg

Afterwords, we used our Rock N Roller Coaster fastpasses! The ride was temporarily down when we got in line, but after a few minutes the line started moving.

We requested the front row because we just wanted to do the best of everything on this day!

We got to the loading dock were they do the countdown. "3... 2... 1...." and I was bracing myself for the launch and NOTHING HAPPENED! The ride soundtrack was going and we were just sitting there. What an awkward moment LOL. I was laughing.

After about 2 minutes they restarted and we were off! The ride was a blast as usual!

dsc0883g.jpg

Once we got off Tower of Terror, we left the park. On the way out I bought my Halloween shirt!

Then while we were walking to the exit, I ran into my friend from twitter, David! He is on the DCP currently and he works in merchandise at DHS. He said that he was going to work at the Christmas shop that particular day. It was so funny to meet him in person after being twitter friends for over a year! It's too funny that we happened to be in the same place at the same time.

We left DHS after that and drove over to Epcot. It suddenly got EXTREMELY hot outside.

We walked to Mexico in the blazing heat and checked in for our 12:10 pm reservation at San Angel Inn! I asked how long it would be for a waterside table, and the CM said 15 minutes! Obviously we said we would wait! SO WORTH IT.

We walked around the pavilion while we waited and got ice water in La Cava de Tequila. the CM's there were hilarious and they were trying to convince us to get tequila. I told them it was too early in the morning hahaha.

Soon our buzzer was going off and we were seated at our table! We were in the corner all the way to the left. It was so worth waiting for a waterside table. OUR VIEW WAS INCREDIBLE.

dsc0886jj.jpg

I LOVED the atmosphere in this restaurant. It was so tranquil and had a fantastic ambiance. It made for a very pleasant lunch!

THE CHIPS came out first! They were absolutely fantastic! The salsas were really good. The green one was mild and the red one was spicy... and I think I liked them both equally. They were delicious!

dsc0887af.jpg

Miranda and I both ordered the Enchiladas de Pollo which were FANTASTIC. It just tasted so fresh and I can still remember how it tasted. They were SO delicious. I would highly recommend them.

dsc0891m.jpg

My Mom ordered the Pollo a las Rajas, which is the meal my friend Alicia (Leasha_Loves_Disney) swears by! My Mom really loved it! She said it was very filling though - it was huge!

dsc0890o.jpg

It was my first lunch at Disney, so I had to get some dessert. I got the Dulce de Leche, which was ice cream infused with actual caramel! WOW. That was delicious and incredible!

dsc0892c.jpg

We left San Angel and headed out of Epcot. We stopped at Mouse Gear and the pin stop. I got the most beautiful Epcot/Figment pin EVER!

Miranda had to leave for work at this point, so we said goodbye!

Mom and I went on Nemo before we left because I had been craving this ride ever since I saw Finding Nemo in 3-D! The scary fish was working again!

img4991c.jpg

Then we went to go visit our Frog Fish friend.... only to find out.... HE'S NOT A FROG FISH.

THIS IS A FROG FISH. And the CM said he was "on vacation" and he wasn't even in the tank. HOW DECEIVING.

img4988n.jpg

Apparently our little friend is named the "short-nosed bat fish." My mind was blown, my heart was crushed, and I am still in denial. He will always be the Frog Fish to me!

dsc0894xo.jpg

In other news... this Lion Fish is AWESOME.

dsc0895j.jpg

We left Epcot after that and took the bus back to Caribbean Beach!

Wow, you guys got A TON done that morning!

I NEED to try San Angel Inn. Alicia RAVES about it and after seeing the food and hearing about THE CHIPS, I need to make an ADR. My mom thinks the food doesn’t sound good, but I think we need to give it a try!

And the Dulce de Leche looks delicious!

To be honest, I think that all of the Grand Floridian Cafe is underrated. The food there is INCREDIBLE. I had the best mashed potatoes OF MY LIFE there. No exaggeration. They were really that good.

That score is so low for you after reading your last trip report! I hope that you had another chance to get a higher score!

This trip report really sounds like you had the MOST. AMAZING. TIME. EVER!

(Pardon all of my hyperbole and capital letters and exclamation points. I'm not sorry at all... I'm just feeling the excitement that this time tomorrow I will be on my way to the Magic Kingdom!!!)

Joining in! I was hunting around for other October TRs and found yours. You look awesome in that Belle costume! When you said you were in the DCP I thought maybe that was your job, you look a lot like her! :goodvibes Anyways, subsribing now & looking forward to more!
