The Most Magical Time of Year in the Most Magical Place on Earth! Nov. 2010 NEW 4/5!

Just read through your entire TR (and PTR) in one sitting! You're a great storyteller! I especially love all of the hat pictures! :thumbsup2 Looking forward to more!

Thank you so much! And thanks for joining in - I'm glad to have you here! :goodvibes

I would like to try Prime Time, but I'm a little worried I'd be embarrassed! The food sounds really good but I don't think I would like my waiter scolding me. I'm really shy and sensitive!

well then i would be careful but it isn't that bad it is just fun to be there. plus you can have a milkshake your normal drink instead of just dessert. they are huge too. but i do see why you are kind of avioding it

Haha, yes I embarrass pretty easily! :lmao: I'd like to try WCC, too but I'm worried about the antics there just like at Prime Time. :sad2:

DAY 5 – Pt. 2

After spending some time searching for the yeti, we decided to head over to another of our favorite AK attractions: Kilamanjaro Safari! Every time I’m on the safari I think about how amazing it would be to take a real African Safari. It’s so peaceful watching the animals.

And a not so pretty view...:rotfl2:

After our ride on the safari, we ventured over to Camp Minnie Mickey to see the Festival of the Lion King for the first time! This is something that we’ve always bypassed, but after seeing everyone’s photos here and reading the raves, I had a good feeling that we would really like the show. And, I was right! It was such a great performance! We will definitely be seeing this show again on the disneymoon.

Next, we decided to travel back in time to visit another type of animal: Dinosaur! On the way there, though, we stopped for a set of Fast Passes for Kali River Rapids. I have a rule about water rides: I will only go on them right before we are about to leave the park. I hate walking around in wet clothes, especially when it’s not super warm (which it wasn’t). I figured it would be a good time to grab the FP’s and then use them right before we left.

Finally, we made our way to Dinosaur.

I like this attraction, but I can only handle it once – it is so jerky! Apparently, I have grown completely desensitized to the big T-Rex though…

I love this picture. My look, I believe, is "whatever"…and Miguel is looking directly at the camera. I believe that is his “whatever” look, too! :lmao:

:rotfl2: I always get caught up in the ride and end up shrieking, even though I know it's coming. :rolleyes1

I'm so glad that you guys enjoyed FOTLK! It's one of our favorite shows, and a must-do every single trip!

I am the exact same way about water rides. I can't stand walking around in wet clothes. :headache:

So glad that you saw Festival of the Lion King! It is a great show!!!!!

I don't like water rides and would probably only ride it if we were going to leave the park right afterwards as well! I don't like walking around in wet clothes either!!!!!!

And the Safari is one of your favorite rides! And with a son who LOVES animals, it's a great peaceful and relaxing ride to take with him :)

LOL I love your Dinosaur ride picture! Those boys in the first row are clearly terrified, and everyone in your row is just "meh, whatever." So funny!

Glad you liked FOTLK....it's our favorite show in WDW. It's a must see every trip. We are trying to be every animal but always end up with the same two.

OK the pic of Dinosaur cracked me up. :rotfl2: I, on the other hand, scream like a baby everytime I ride it. I know it's coming, I know it's fake, I scream :rolleyes1

Does that baby elephant on the Safari ever grow????

I love the safari, one of the few things I really love about AK! :rotfl: Although, if I ever see FOTLK, I might change my mind! It looks like such a great show, I love your pictures!

I can't remember anything about the Dinosaur ride, we only went on once, in 2008, and it seems like forever ago! :confused3 I love your ride pic!

I wish I could be desensitized from Dinosaur - that ride still scares me! I keep my eyes closed and my head down the whole time! Yes, I'm a bit of a baby!

I have only seen FOTLK once, years ago...now you've got me wanting to see it again!

I *LOVE* Festival of the Lion King, and I'm glad you guys liked it too. :goodvibes

I think it was smart of you to take FP to do Kali River Rapids last before heading back to the resort. That's what we did last time too.

I've heard it's really good! The skillet they have there looks really yummy. :thumbsup2

hm maybe i will try it sometime:confused3 you never know btw i love your picture on dinosaur!!!! i wish i could do it. i think i will try smiling or making a funny face on Rockin' Roller coaster because i always try and scream but my face just freezes because the speed and nothing comes out.

DAY 4 - Pt. 4

After waiting about 30 minutes at Sci-Fi, our name was finally called! There was a lot of anticipation walking into the dining area, and it did not disappoint! We found it to be so neat!
8c388965.jpg

Apparently, so did a lot of other people. We were sitting right near the entrance of the area, and whenever people would walk in for the first time, they would comment on how cool it was – it definitely made for a fun evening experiencing everyone’s excitement!

We were seated as “hitchhikers” behind a family and had a wonderful waitress – Sarah! She was from Australia, I believe, and was absolutely lovely!

Since we were so hungry, we decided to go for an appetizer- something we don’t normally do. We chose the double dip for two, which has spinach & artichoke dip and chili.
848a8f91.jpg

This was soooo good! The spinach dip was the favorite for both of us but the chili was delicious as well. It had a kind of different flavor to it (curry maybe?) but it was really nice! We would both definitely get it again.

Up next were our entrees. I of course had to go with the famous cheeseburgers. Oh my goodness, this was amazing! I know I’ve read that some people aren’t impressed, so maybe it depends on the day. We must have been there on a really good day because I can honestly say that was one of the best cheeseburgers of my life.
353cbefe.jpg

And speaking of best meals, Miguel agreed about his sandwich as well! He got the Italian Chicken sandwich and said it was one of the best chicken sandwiches he had ever eaten!
483e25ed.jpg

We loved our meal at Sci-Fi. Everything about the dinner was just perfect – the atmosphere, the food, and our wonderful waitress. We are returning on the disneymoon and we cannot wait!

As soon as we left the restaurant, we rounded the corner to go experience the Osborne Lights. If you are looking for a good place for an ADR either before or after the lights, Sci-Fi is it! I had no idea how close it was. It was very convenient.

Walking up to the lights is kind of indescribable. It’s like all at once you’re just hit by this massive amount of lights. It’s hard to know where to focus! Everything was so beautiful and the snow falling made it even better!

One of the things I had really wanted to do while seeing the lights was get a PP picture to use as a Christmas card photo. Unfortunately, the line was a mile long! We decided not to wait and I did my best to get one of us together.
f0e36d93.jpg

Ok, but not Christmas card worthy!

Once we had enough of the lights, we wondered over to Pixar Place to use are TSM FP’s from earlier in the day. We were so excited to ride again, and this time I won!
79d1951f.jpg

Finally, it was time to face the music – literally. It was on to RnRC!
92b0d7f9.jpg

There would be nothing getting in my way this time. The ride was fully functioning and we were on our way. It moved pretty quickly, which is probably a good thing because before I knew it we were getting briefed by Aerosmith, and I was freaking out!

If I had had any longer to wait, I might have chickend out, but I am happy to report that I did it! And here’s what I thought about it…
19c10037.jpg

That is what I like to call the look of pure torture. I hated it! The whole time I was screaming, and not in a good way! Of course, Miguel thought it was hilarious and laughed the whole time.

When I got off the ride, I felt like I couldn’t even walk straight and I swore I would never do that again. Months later, I might have changed my mind! I think that now that I know what to expect, it wouldn’t be so bad. So who knows, maybe I’ll give RnRC another try on the disneymoon.

We decided to make our way towards the front of the park, but we did stop in one of the shops on the way to do some browsing. We ended up resorting to one of our favorite Disney pastimes – trying on hats!

Finally, it was time to head back to POR after what had been a wonderful night. I am so glad that the evening turned out the way it did, because it really changed my mind about DHS. I feel like the park has a completely different atmosphere at night, and I’ve decided I really like it. I’m actually looking forward to going back on our honeymoon. This was definitely a magical evening, and one I won’t forget!

Up next I will finally get to our last day. There’s some disappointment ahead, too. :sad2:

Again, I'm late to your new update. 've been busy.
Congrats on getting on the roller coaster.

a few years ago in 2007 or 2008 i went on the Rockin Roller Coaster 29 times in a row!

but now...

I really don't like it because it gives me a head ache when my head bumps around and the music is too loud in the ears. I wish they had a volume on the seats where you can adjust your own headset.

:headache:

I normally react to the dino, too. I guess this time the camera caught me at just the right time! :rotfl: I'm so glad we finally got to experience FOTLK. I can't believe we waited this long!

FOTLK is amazing! It really reminded me how much a I love The Lion King. The music gets me every time!

Great day. I LOVE the ride Dinosaur!!!!

It was a fun day! :goodvibes

LOL I love your Dinosaur ride picture! Those boys in the first row are clearly terrified, and everyone in your row is just "meh, whatever." So funny!

 One of my favorite things about the ride pictures is seeing everyone else's expressions. Sometimes they're priceless!

Gosh, I can't even remember what animal we were - the lion, maybe? I just remember thinking "I hope we aren't in the warthog section!" :lmao:

I love the safari, one of the few things I really love about AK! :rotfl: Although, if I ever see FOTLK, I might change my mind! It looks like such a great show, I love your pictures!

I think you will love FOTLK! It is great, and we normally don't do the shows at Disney. :thumbsup2

I have only seen FOTLK once, years ago...now you've got me wanting to see it again!

Dinosaur is definitely a little scary. I mostly hate how jerky it is! :sad2:

I *LOVE* Festival of the Lion King, and I'm glad you guys liked it too. :goodvibes

I think it was smart of you to take FP to do Kali River Rapids last before heading back to the resort. That's what we did last time too.

I think doing the water rides at the end is always a good plan. :thumbsup2 You just never know when you're going to get soaked!

hm maybe i will try it sometime:confused3 you never know btw i love your picture on dinosaur!!!! i wish i could do it. i think i will try smiling or making a funny face on Rockin' Roller coaster because i always try and scream but my face just freezes because the speed and nothing comes out.

I don't think I could smile on RnRC if I had to! The only look I can manage is terrified! :scared1:

Again, I'm late to your new update. 've been busy.
Congrats on getting on the roller coaster.

29 times?!?!?!?!!! :scared1: My head hurts just thinking about that!

DAY 5 – Pt. 3

After our super scary ride on dinosaur ;) we decided to spend some more time in DinoLand USA. Miguel seems to love this place. Me, it just seems kind of out of place. I’m not crazy about the carnival theme. We went over to the gift shop and of course had to try on a hat!

And pose with a Dino.

Miguel loves Primevel Whirl, so we hopped in line there.

Since we had pretty much accomplished every thing we were hoping to at AK, it was time to finally use those Kali FP’s before we left the park. As we made our way to the entrance, we watched as the people exited. They were all soaked! Miguel thought it would be a good idea if we got some ponchos. We ended up paying $15 for them, but they are really good quality, so we can use always use them again. They definitely came in handy! Only our feet got wet. :thumbsup2

After Kali, my small Boma breakfast had worn off and I wanted to stop for a bite to eat before we left the park. I decided on Pizzafari since that was a place that I hadn’t tried yet and I had read good things about the Hot Italian Sandwich, which was exactly what I got.
8aa69b39.jpg

fc6bacea.jpg

Miguel wasn’t hungry, so he just watched me eat. The sandwich was pretty good – I would probably get it again if eating at Pizzafari.

After my lunch, Miguel and I headed to the front of the park where we did our typical ritual of stopping to look at the animals there. When first entering the park, we are always in a rush to get to EE so we never get a chance to stop and observe for a few minutes.

We also had some time to take a look at the AK Christmas tree, since we had flown past that too.

c09331fc.jpg

Eventually, we made our way back to the car and then to POR, where we began packing for our departure the next day and resting up for our final evening at Epcot.

My son LOVES rides like primeval whirl!!! LOL
Great idea to use ponchos for water rides!!!! I might have to steal that idea when we go in September so that I do not get wet!!!

Yay update! I think if you're going to wear ponchos on any ride, Kali is ride to do it on! People just get SO WET. Last time I went on it, bf and I were the ones who had our back to the geyser that's right at the beginning! 2 minutes in and we were already soaked!!!

That sammie looks delicious. I love the AK tree. The ornaments are just so unique!

Fun afternoon! I agree-- there's something about Dinoland that doesn't quite fit in with the rest of AK. I don't know how they could make it more cohesive, tough!
