The Most Expensive Free Trip Ever - TR Link is Up! Pg. 164

Yes, I did just sit and watch all 4 minutes and 46 seconds of that. Remind me to not keep clicking on these video clips. :lmao: They just aren't very productive! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

No but they are funny. Almost as funny as Evan's imitation of Animal doing the "Mama" part of the song.

And then it gets stuck in your head for days....

Besides, productive is overrated!

I know, you'd think they'd try to get them in while they can. Judy is subbing too. Last week she got called for a 3-week gig. :)

Ooh, lucky Judy! I wish I'd get called for a long term job like that - straight into the Disney fund!

So, are you snowed in yet? Looks like it hit PA pretty hard. I hope your power stays on, and you are able to dig out.

The schnitzel was the real deal! And good! Don't forget the roasted garlic with that brie and cranberry sauce. We've made it several times at home since then. It is good. We've served it to guests and they think we're all fancy schmancy. (That might be hard to translate for you, sorry. No need to translate "schmancy", it's just a made-up word to rhyme with fancy.)

My husband always uses the phrase "fancy schmancy" to describe any meal I put an effort into (which in his mind is pretty much all of them). :rotfl:

I'll do proper replies later, I've got a bunch of reports to get out today. Fortunately I'm able to work from home.

It is snowing buckets here!

Hopefully your power will be on; the weather reports out of there look frightening! :scared1:

DH JUST MADE IT on his flight before they shut down Chicago I guess... :woohoo:

Glenn, I hope you are all safe - the snow in the Eastern US is even on the news here in Germany. In case you have nothing better to do: http://www.spiegel.de/panorama/0,1518,676993,00.html :goodvibes

Hope your DH has a safe trip! Flying over the storm last Friday was very bumpy and we got a message from our pilot that he was sorry to make us stay in our seats, but the planes flying on lower levels than us were reporting much more horrible conditions.

we got sent home from work yesterday with pay, because they thought the storm was going to be bad.

too bad you still have to work from home today.

Mega-reply post....

Pretty sure I slept through that whole movie!! :confused3 I was never a huge Muppets fan, so it was a nice place to take a little snooze!

I like the muppets and never sleep through this one. I think it gets a bad rap. It'd do better if they still ran reruns of the Muppet Show. My kids hardly know anything about the muppets. They're more familiar with Frank Oz puppeting Yoda than they are Miss Piggy.

For Muppet fans...as well as Queen fans...you must check this out if you haven't seen it.

The Muppets: Bohemian Rhapsody

Thanks. That was great. I'd never seen it before.

Now that I've watched the clip I understand your comment ("aren't very productive"). I was thinking that Kermit was conspicuously absent.

No but they are funny. Almost as funny as Evan's imitation of Animal doing the "Mama" part of the song.

And then it gets stuck in your head for days....

Besides, productive is overrated!

I thought that was a clever way to avoid singing "...just killed a man. Put a gun against his head. Pulled my trigger, now he's dead." Which isn't real kid-friendly.

Ooh, lucky Judy! I wish I'd get called for a long term job like that - straight into the Disney fund!

On the one hand, we're missing days now so it's not turning out to be as many as originally thought. But on the other hand, the teacher she's subbing for is um, no longer employed there, so it could turn into something more for Judy. But on the third hand, since she's the de-facto temporary teacher, she's putting in a lot of time developing lesson plans; time for which she doesn't get paid since she's being paid as a daily sub, but she wants to make a good impression and possibly get the job for the rest of the year. But on the fourth hand, if she's the teacher through the rest of the year, and the year gets extended due to snow days....could put a real crimp on the vacation plans.

So, are you snowed in yet? Looks like it hit PA pretty hard. I hope your power stays on, and you are able to dig out.

We have been getting socked all day.

My husband always uses the phrase "fancy schmancy" to describe any meal I put an effort into (which in his mind is pretty much all of them). :rotfl:

The phrase would get worn out here as well. I tell my kids they have no idea how good they have it meal-wise. They'll find out when they're on their own, or compare notes with college roommates and things like that.

Hopefully your power will be on; the weather reports out of there look frightening! :scared1:

DH JUST MADE IT on his flight before they shut down Chicago I guess... :woohoo:

We only had those 3 power blips, but I was worried we were going to lose power for who knows how long.

When does hubby get in?

:lmao: Oh man, I love the Muppets. I can never decide who my favourite is. Sometimes it's kermit, sometimes it's Miss Piggy, then for a complete switch it's Gonzo or Animal. Too funny

I like them but....see next reply

For me it's the Swedish Chef and then Beaker!!

These are my 2 favorites also. Not a character, but let's not forget "Pigs In Spaaaaace!"

Glenn, I hope you are all safe - the snow in the Eastern US is even on the news here in Germany. In case you have nothing better to do: http://www.spiegel.de/panorama/0,1518,676993,00.html :goodvibes

Thanks for the link. It was neat to see a foreign write-up. A couple of words I noticed were "Winterchaos" and "Snowbama".

we got sent home from work yesterday with pay, because they thought the storm was going to be bad.

too bad you still have to work from home today.

How bad did the weather turn out for you? It's still kind of fun to work from home.

So....I suppose you're interested in another Snow Update, now that we're getting hit with "Round Two".

First, I'll give you a few from Sunday, which was a nice, sunny, snowy day.

I saw a cardinal out at our bird feeder and tried to get a picture of it, but I've got to work on my wildlife photography technique because I either kept scaring him away, or forgetting to turn the camera on. I missed getting a picture of him on about 3 occasions. Since I couldn't get the cardinal I took a picture of this bird, which I'll call some chickadee-type thing. (Oh, these were taken with a zoom-lens I got for Christmas. Should be good for a picture of that gorilla on the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail at AK.)

IMG_2161.jpg

Getting bored on my cardinal stakeout, I took a picture of a cedar tree in my backyard.

IMG_2162.jpg

Then, finally got the cardinal.

IMG_2166.jpg

The kids enjoyed playing in the snow.

Now to more recent stuff. This was my usual backyard photo for a "before" picture, which I took last night around 6:30 pm.

IMG_2182.jpg

Then, this morning. It looked like we probably got about 8 inches of snow overnight.

IMG_2186.jpg

It was a wet, heavy snow. I didn't think my little snowblower could handle it, but it did all right. Again, I felt dumb clearing the driveway, but I thought it'd be best to get that heavy snow cleared since they were calling for temperatures to drop and more snow to come. Judy took a picture of this good looking guy clearing our driveway.

IMG_2187.jpg

IMG_2188.jpg

Then, around lunchtime. Before I took Swiffer out. We had gotten another 8 inches since morning.

Our mailbox.

IMG_2200.jpg

Our house.

The driveway I had cleared this morning.

Back on the deck. Poor Swiffy.

The back of the house.

And...it's still snowing!

Goodness gracious, Glenn! :scared1: I'm just blown away by the pictures I've been seeing from everyone who lives in MD and PA.

I read somewhere that Maryland hasn't had this much snow in a winter since the late 1800s.

I'm a couple hours west of Glenn and this is what I've got:

Our Labrador, Moxie:

I know! I can't believe that just 5 days ago my deck looked like this:

I think Philadelphia just set a record for amount of snowfall in a winter.

Wow you really got some snow!! We got maybe 9 inches or so....it has been a very light winter for us which is very unusual. :confused3 I made some paths in the backyard for my Ziggy to run around! :rotfl2: It's still snowing lightly now but I don't think we will get much more accumulation.
Great cardinal pictures! And the other chickadee too ;)

I'm glad you folks only got 9 inches up your way Tracy. I could handle that....this is just too much!

Isn't it funny how you have to clear a path for your pooch?
